Any Brits worried about SJW Jeremy Corbyn?
I saw this article linked off Drudge and the guy seems fully SJW and ready to push for some radical changes. Any Brits have concerns or is all of that "equality" a desired outcome over there?
Quote:This is a very serious achievement today. We now have policy debates on welfare reform. We have campaigns on trade union rights, the environment and social justice. Yes, we are ready
Quote:"I say thank you in advance to us all working together to achieve great victories, not just electorally for Labour, but emotionally for the whole of our society to show we don't have to be unequal, it doesn't have to be unfair, poverty isn't inevitable," the grey-haired, bearded 66-year-old said.
It really sounds like he means economically equal, not just created equal.
Quote:“I have a background in human rights and peace and in trade unions. I want to make sure nobody is ignored in society,” he said.
“It breaks my heart when I see people sleeping rough. It breaks my heart when I see people begging or people using food banks.
“It’s not necessary. We are a rich country and we can do things differently.”
You won't be rich for long.

Doesn't this shithead want to give the poor, oppressed princesses of Britain their own carriages on public transport in case they're the "victim" of an errant compliment or an awkward advance from a newbie PUA?

RE: Any Brits worried about SJW Jeremy Corbyn?
I think Brits are more likely to be pissing themselves laughing rather than shitting themselves in fear.
One of the key reasons Labour lost under Miliband was because he was too left-wing. Labour's solution was therefore to vote in someone even more left-wing, somebody who would only enjoy their ale with twigs and soil floating in it if he wasn't a teetotaller.
It's more likely that the Tories or someone else infiltrated the voting process to get Corbyn in, a man who didn't ever expect to win and only joined to bring some SJW bullshit or whatever into the debate. Key Labour figures, votable Labour figures, have been warning for weeks that Corbyn will ruin the party and make them unvotable for years.
God willing.
A score of them have already said that they will not serve in his Shadow Cabinet. When one of them, Yvette Fielding, is a relatively centrist short-haired feminist, you get a feel for just how Marxist this fucking oxygen thief is. Andy Burnham's team's tweet just after the announcement was "Fuck".
He has already promised to make his Shadow Cabinet at least 50% female.
"The only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilised community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others...in the part which merely concerns himself, his independence is, of right, absolute." - John Stuart Mill, On Liberty

Although he's a SJW through and through, I've loved seeing the establishment politicians fret and sweat over someone who, at the very least, doesn't change his opinions for votes, popularity or money. Or cave into the corporate money.
Gotta respect that.

RE: Any Brits worried about SJW Jeremy Corbyn?
Here in Canada we laughed at the NDP before the last election, the leftist of all three parties. The NDP won the election in the most conservative province in the country and it's slated to possibly form the next federal government (current polls, but that can change). Now it's them that are laughing.
For all the talk of the rise of right wing, and right wing nationalism, it's the leftist parties across the west that are consistently forming governments and dictating policy and the right is relegated to shouting from the sidelines, or moving closer to the centre to win elections. Just as David Cameron did.
And if that doesn't make you think, let this sink in for a minute...here in Canada, the conservative party is overwhelmingly backed by non-white immigrants and their children (ethnic population). The old adage, right wing is white, left wing is everyone else is no longer a valid assumption.
I would be concerned about Corbyn, he may surprise the Brits in 5 years. Especially if Cameron doesn't deliver the results the electorate wants. Being an assured politician with a clear message, even if that message is flawed is becoming a winning formula. Corbyn is a SJW, a socialist, and as left as they come, but he's not hiding it. He's not backtracking from it, he's sure of himself and his policies. Voters are drawn to that kind of confidence.

It's interesting you say that. Here's a line from ZH:
Quote:During the last month, the Labour leadership campaign has seen trade unions double their number of signed-up supporters and 120,000 people pay £3 to register as supporters to be able to vote. The party’s website crashed as surges of people attempted to sign up at the last minute and Labour struggled to cope with almost 400,000 new members and supporters.

I'm curious to see what will happen.

RE: Any Brits worried about SJW Jeremy Corbyn?
Personally I suspect that the Conservatives (the New Blairites) will re-align themselves even further to the left to capitalise on the moderate left Labour voters who will balk at the prospect of voting for Jeremy Corbyn. And the whole system will swim ever leftward as the politicians grasp to stay in power.
I think after their failure to capture seats at the last election, UKIP may be a busted flush, and to be honest, do not offer a significant enough counter balance to the main parties. I like Farage and warm to him, but there is such division now within UKIP, with him having stayed on, and other members of the party jockying for power and a revised agenda to appeal to more voters; plus I suspect that there is a general lack of confidence within UKIP following their failure to turn votes into seats at the last election that is hampering any progress they may have been able to make on the back of a decent voter share at the election.
I no longer believe the answer here will come by democratic means.
As for Corbyn himself, I stand in opposition to most of what he says, and find some of his actions (particularly his friendship with Gerry Adams) distasteful. That said, even if he is misguided, I think he believes what he says, and will give honest answers to questions. It is a sad state of affairs, but in modern politics, that takes a good degree of integrity, which I can respect, even though I regard him as an enemy to the future of my country.

Ironically he's just announced his cabinet, and there's ZERO women in the top jobs.
Even though most of the cabinet is still batshit insane. The chancellor wants a 60% tax and wants to seize shares of people with no compensation.
I hope the conservatives aren't too smug and dismissive of him, and actually hammer home how batshit insane Corbyn and his government's policies are, instead of playing stupid political games attacking his character.
