Goes back to the noticeable double standard, girl said she was assaulted by getting an unwanted kiss, police come to school and charge the 14 year old boy. Do we really think the police would show up if a boy was shoved into a locker because of a dare and was not injured (like the girl in the article)? At most would be sent to the principal's office.

If I were the police chief, I'd be pissed off that my manpower and resources were being wasted on bullshit like this! Not sure if you're kidding there, but in twelve states public urination can get you put on a sex offender registry list if you're found guilty. Source here and I linked their explanatory graphic below. Whoever made the offending states yellow must have a good sense of humor.

Hahahaahaha. I did this same exact thing when I was in second grade and it happened to be in the state of Maryland and I kissed a girl on a dare. Assault charge nope!!! But I did get in school suspension.

Oregon too. I was talking to a homeless guy in a park who told me that a friend of his was coming out of a stall in a men's bathroom zipping up his fly, and a woman walking by looked in at him and called the cops saying he was exposing himself, and he is now on the sex offender registry. He was only coming out of a stall, and was still in the men's bathroom.

Now I know, grain of salt, story from homeless guy, but even if he was exposing himself, isn't it on the woman for looking in the men's bathroom in the first place?

A gay kid may be more inclined to go there but it won't make a straight kid "turn". And if he did he wasn't 100% straight to begin with; hooking up with guys isn't something straight men ever think about or do.

Example, the Archdiocese of New York runs about 50 Roman Catholic high schools in NYC and the Lower Hudson Valley, only 4 are co-ed. I know from friends that went single-sex schools ( like Xavier, Preston, Regis, Mt St. Ursula, St. Thomas Aquinas, etc) that they coordinate dances, plays, and other functions with the nearest all-girls/boys school and have been doing so since the 1800's.

Simply attending a co-ed school doesn't guarantee sex(I went a co-ed school and didn't get laid), without game you'll end up like Tantalus desiring something you don't have the ability to obtain. The point of going to school is to learn, you can game after-school and on weekends.

Most single-sex boy schools also have a "sister school," which is all girls and the boys and girls ride the school bus together. I went to an all-boys high school for one year, in ninth grade, and this was the case then.

This was a relatively upscale prep school we were going to, but I can't tell you the crazy sh*t that went on on that bus. Drugs, smoking, "feeling up" girls, butt grabbing, boom boxes blasting heavy metal, and out-and-out harassment of fat girls* and nerds. Oh, and there was no shortage of porno mags passed around. I still remember one called "Gallery" that had shots of the readers' girlfriends. In the pre-homemade porn era, this was a revelation.

As for the bus...If you sat in the back, you were probably getting high. If you were in the front, you were a dweeb. I sat in the middle -- haha.

Needless to say, a lot of this stuff would have gotten us in a lot of trouble today. No one cared back in the '80s.

* One story is too good to leave out. Every time a certain fat girl came aboard, the resident stoner who sat way in the back would shout "Harpoon that whale!" It became a tradition...until the day her day decided to pay him a visit.

The other day, in the Target parking lot, I was in the car when I scoped a couple of jr. players scootin' around on BMXs, clearing trying to rustle a hustle when they meet up with a group of girls in the front of the store. They all looked like they could've been high school freshman at the most. One of the two fellas took the lead, and judging by his posturing, was coaxing the girls into some kind of dare. When one of the girls happily scampered forth and quickly kissed him, success was assured. Giggles ensued from her friends, and the two gents breezed off. I let out a round of applause as they passed me.

All in good fun.

The courts have nothing better to do?

Beat me to it. The point of growing up isn't to get laid. For boys we want to lay the solid foundation so when they are 18-20 they hit the ground running. Then the pussy comes. Pussy is easy once you take care of the hard parts.

But even still, there should be plenty of opportunities for boys and girls to mix. Without a doubt.

There is no jury. The case stays in Juvenile Court where the judge has to find him "involved" rather than guilty.

If the girl shows up in court (her parents will be subpoenaed to bring her) and she testifies as to what the kid did and that it was offensive to her, it will be easy to prove that he was involved. The only thing I ever looked forward to school was the fact there were girls there, since preschool. I went to a private elementary/middle school before going to a public high school. In 8th grade, the school tried some "experimental" process in which you would be in class with your own gender only besides one class a day at the end of the day. Lunch wasn't gender segregated, but I remember having a better time with girls at lunch in 4th grade to 6th grade, something had changed. It's like both genders were too nervous to interact with each other.

That year was beyond depressing. I would not wish that on any straight kid growing up.

The worst result for the kid will be the emasculation caused by this overwhelmingly negative experience after what was probably his first attempt at pushing the boundaries with a chick.

As opposed to learning that having the balls to try something is the first step to getting what you want, he's been taught that doing anything you don't already know 100% you're 'allowed' to do can result in everyone who holds power over your life trying to destroy you. He'll probably be a lot more risk-averse after this incident.
