Mr. Elci was well known in Turkey for highlighting what are seen as taboo subjects in Turkey, the Armenian Genocide and especially the ongoing Kurdish Question. He was a marked man. Not seen much on the news about this guy however despite Turkey wanting to join the EU and being an ally. You'd almost think there was an agenda against Russia in western media.

I don't think the Visa thing is very big to be honest. We feared Bulgarians and Romanians after they were able to work as much as they wanted in Western Europe but the waves of Eastern Europeans that we feared never came. It's also not that Turkish people can't visit the EU now, the visum isnt difficult to get. I agree that Erdogan is chantaging, though.

Are you kidding me? Millions came to Western Europe. Also, Romanian/Bulgarian immigration was severely limited until last year. I don't even care about Eastern Europeans immigrating, but you are mistaken on this point.

The article says Turkey is doing a defacto blockade of the Bosphorus without announcing it. The article also said Putin ordered 150,000 troops to Syria so that taints its credibility since there is no way Putin would do that.

If Turkey did do that, that's a declaration of war. But I don't think it would be a huge deal since Russia can just supply through the Atlantic-Mediterranean. Plus Russia and Iran combined supply Turkey about 77% of their gas and would probably just cut it off. No need to be baited into a war with Turkey. Just let them destroy their economy and allow their people to suffer... just like Ukraine.

Not too sure about that source. The map they use is from the Marine Traffic website and, at a glance, I can't see any evidence in the live data right now (not Russian vessels at least). Wouldn't be surprised if this happened though.

The biggest problem is that the vast bulk of the population are just brainless sheep. Anyone who can call a man who's deliberately left his home culture to indulge in foreign cultures a 'xenophobe' is a straight-up brain-dead chimp. They're just scared little animals, no different to a dog following its owners commands. They have no capacity for original or critical thought, but plenty of capacity to get aggressive if you don't join their horde of zombies.

Kurds make only under 10% of the Syrian population. Most of them are Sunni. They don´t like to fight against other Sunnis. The Kurds in Irak for example cooperate with Turkey as both are Sunni.

Russia has a big problem in Syria. What happens when his enemies get Stinger rockets? Same stuff as in Afghanistan maybe even worse. Perfect situation for NATO to bleed Russia in a long and costly war.

NATO probably waits for the payback because of Ukraine. So difficult situation for Russia.

Most of Syria is Sunni how are they going to be dominated again other than through a genocide?

There was a chance that Russia could have done the job but it seems the fish was to big for them specially without a real army on the ground. Ideally some 1 million Iranian soldiers and 100k russian soldiers and things might work out.
