The video speaks for itself, two players deliberately attacked a ref - the only apparent reason is that he ejected two of their teammates earlier. The first response from the school was that the kids would be suspended from football for a whole game. Realizing their mistake, they then said the kids would be suspended indefinitely.

These kids need to be scourged for this. And I'd sue the school district for the insult of offering a suspension. And their parents should be sterilized before releasing more animals like this into the world.

Thread title made me skeptical but that was definitely deliberate. Emotions run high during a close games but there's no excuse for such savagery.

Fuck a suspension...the assailants need to be expelled from the school and barred from playing interscholastic and intramural sports at any school they transfer to. Hope that ref presses charges.

Call me skeptical. But in modern identity-politics-first North America, all conversations now begin with someone playing some kind of victim card to attempt to excuse some type of anti-social or outright illegal behaviour or to dismiss any dissent. "I can't be held accountable for my actions because of racism."

I know these kids were already suspended for the entire football season and are suspended from school.

I heard on the radio that an assistant coach was suspended as well because he told the kids something like. Go get him(the referee) for making us lose. Not sure on the exact quote.

If the coach orchestrated this he should be banned from coaching for 5 years.

The kids playing football being suspended from school and playing is a proper punishment but the mastermind should get much harsher especially since he is adult.

For the most part yeah.

Male friends I have that have done stuff like that always have shitty parents or parents that abandoned them and they are adopted or have step parents.

Never known a kid prone to random of attacks of violence where I said to myself damn, I wish I could trade my parents for his.

This should be felony assault with a deadly weapon. Spearing someone from behind, and while they are on the ground, with a football helmet is no different than walking up to someone from behind and cracking them with a baseball bat.

These kids should have been arrested and charged on the spot.

Apparently in Texas assaulting a referee is a felony. It was enacted to keep parents from attacking a ref after a game but it still applies here. The kids should be tried as adults and the coach for - conspiracy? I'm not sure but, since one of the assistant coaches apparently sanctioned it, the coaching staff is liable.

I think there is a good chance that a poor behaving kid has not the ideal parenting situation. There are some good kids that come out of a bad situation. But those kids are just exceptional in the sense they know what is going on and have determination to achieve.

Never been opposed to getting a permit to have kids. Granted relying on a government agency to determine anything is a scary idea also.

It is fucked up that an assistant coach suggested this. And I cannot confirm that the red said the n word but there need to be better coping mechanisms than a cheap shot like that. Though it would seem weird that a ref would be a racist and then put himself in an environment with so many minorities.

Anyone know how many years the ref has worked? Would be weird if he was a 20 year vet and this was the first time he was accused of using a racist word.

Even if the racial epithet thing were true, it's a WORD. That doesn't justify physical violence for a fucking word. People have absolutely no values these days. If the ref had said something like that, why not just report him? Physically attacking someone just leaves you open for legal liability. Thanks to action movies and cop shows whose primary means of solving problems is consequence-free violence, these idiots think that addressing one wrong is to commit another.
