The super-rich ruler of Brunei has told residents of his country that if they plan on celebrating Christmas, they could face up to five years in jail.

In fear the the religious holiday will affect the faith of its country, the tiny oil-rich nation’s Sultan, Hassanal Bolkiah, has banned the public celebration of Christmas.

Any Muslims caught celebrating Christmas, and non-Muslims who are discovered organising celebrations, could face the lengthy prison sentence.

While non-Muslims are allowed to celebrate the holiday within their own communities, they must not disclose their plans to the nation's Muslims – which make up 65 per cent of the 420,000-strong population.

Around 20 per cent of Brunei's residents are non-Muslim, including substantial Buddhist and Christian communities.

'These enforcement measures are…intended to control the act of celebrating Christmas excessively and openly, which could damage the aqidah (beliefs) of the Muslim community,' said the Ministry of Religious Affairs in a statement.

The small Borneo nation prohibits propagating religion other than Islam to a Muslim, and breaking this is a violation of the penal code.

Other banned activities include putting up Christmas trees, singing religious songs and sending Christmas greetings, reported the Borneo Bulletin.

'Some may think that it is a frivolous matter and should not be brought up as an issue,' the imams are quoted as saying in the Bulletin.

'But as Muslims…we must keep it [following other religions' celebrations] away as it could affect our Islamic faith.'

Some Burnei residents, however, are risking jail time by still celebrating Christmas and uploading pictures to social media as part of a #MyTreedom campaign that celebrates religious freedom.

You gotta wonder who is coaching these guys. Reminds me of American unions.

One would also think that if relatives 'back home' can receive skype calls, it would indicate an environment that is safe and has functioning telecommunications systems, and there is no danger one is seeking refuge from.

Good point. I suspect that countries where the internet is readily accessible tend to be relatively stable, economically and politically.



A quick look at a map would disqualify a lot of countries from which the migrants are claiming refugee status.

As we all know, Germany needs all those refugees. High skilled workers that help to fight the demographic problem and keeps the German economy running. Don't matter that 90 % of them will live from social welfare the next decade. Some numbers even worse, they say only every 50. is able to have a decent qualification.
The question why then not take the youth from Spain, Italy, Greece and East Europe to work in Germany you should not ask.

Let's see them try to enforce that ban. That's when the exciting stuff can happen, when you get that sudden beautiful inversion when the 'enforcer' and the 'enforced' flips. And when that happens, the beauty of the internet is that all of their names are available. My concern is the rise of No Go Areas and failed districts like we have them already. Areas with 90 % immigrants, mainly muslims. Rise of crime, not save to walk in the night. Family clans that rule the area, police don't show up any more or just with high force.

About the work, what should does immigrants work? I mean cheap blue colour work is already outsourced. Even germans with no qualification find no job. Now put on a lack of language skills. The german companies have a high power, so even when there is now a law that say up to 30 % in high management should be women, the companies trick this in their way. Companies want to make profit, they will not accept any law that harm this goal.

Inspirational stuff. The Czech people can be proud that they have someone at the helm who will not allow the Globalists to destroy their country and it's future.
I cannot picture any Irish politician, saying anything remotely close to this kind of rhetoric in public.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, he actually possesses a functioning pair of testicles.

Syrians should be the highest skilled among the refugees. Germany need them so solve it's problem that Germans not able to solve. But let's take a look at some numbers:

It's sad that we live in a world where leaders like this have become the exception.

What is the general consensus? Will countries like the C.R. and Poland be able to keep migrants out? Have they been forced to take any in yet? I know a few months ago the word was countries that refuse refugees will face major fines, but I haven't stayed completely in the loop.
