The Ottoman empire to my knowledge only survived because the Brits propped them up to deny Russia access to the Med. Without British support the Czar would have taken the Ottoman empire easily. The Brits also didn't help the Greeks when they did their reconquista attempt following WW1.

And the reason Britain was not invaded like France by Germany in WW2 is because it was an Island. That gave it a huge advantage.

Same thing goes for us, we are basically very hard to invade like Britain too because when one of the big powers fucks with us, we approach the other rival big power for help. It has always been like this. Our location gives us a huge advantage because no big power will allow the other one to control the straits.

We got invaded in WW1 but the allies fell into a disagreement with each other on who should control the straits, we managed to fight back thanks to their disagreement. Not to mention Russia sent us a lot of weapons to aid us against Allies in our war of independence

I can appreciate that the German people and blood line produced some magnificent minds, innovation, culture etc.. but with what I see and hear now, with what I know of their history, they sure seem to be a suicidal bunch. I can't think of a people that swing from one suicidal extreme to another in such a short span. I honestly think they are doomed no matter what, and yes they will bring the rest of Europe down with them if they stay on the current track. Austrian Press Council : Don't Report Anything That Could Stir Up "Prejudices"

Following on, most of the subsequent Press Council directives appear to make self-censorship of stories so as to avoid causing “prejudice” – the primary focus of “responsible journalism in refugee reporting”.

Journalists are asked to think about “whether [their] reporting, choice of words or selection of photos could strengthen prejudices”, and “whether information that could stir up prejudices could be left out, without changing the meaning and true content of the story, or impairing readers’ understanding of the subject”.

The list also warns reporters to check whether a piece contains any other information in a piece that might “thwart their intentions” not to inflame prejudice. “E.g. not mentioning a person’s origin, but mentioning a foreign first name”, the Press Council suggests.

It adds: “Note: the mere naming of the origin of a [suspected criminal] foreigner/asylum seeker/migrant is not an ethical infringement according to the current practice of the Press Council senate. However, journalists should weigh up whether it’s required for the reader’s understanding.”

Before publishing a story regarding migrants, the Press Council also asks reporters and people working in the media to consider whether they can “open an internet forum on the topic without having to fear that the discussion gets out of hand”.

You and many other RVF Member are welcome to go to a local festival with me. You will sense Germany is still alive. This topic is the speertip of a sudden change of the world. Still the live of 99 % of Germans is not affected by this nor of the rest of Europeans or Americans.

We are moving to the edge but the outcome is not clear. And its also the river of life that countries, societies and cultures change, go down or vanish. You're right maybe rivaling Germany is a little bit far fetched but that country had enormous potential. It would definitely be better off than Spain and Italy. Yugoslavia is probably the biggest fuck up that happened in last 100 years. Yeah Soviet Union collapsed but its sucesssor Russia still retained its role as a superpower. Ottoman collapsed but Turkey is more or less a regional power. But Yugoslavia? It got split into countries who have less influence than Uganda in world politics.

They had one of the most amazing leaders Tito who managed to hold serbs,bosniaks,croats under one umbrella. You should take into account that these people were nationalist as fuck especially Serbs but he managed to hold them under the umbrella of Yugoslavia. When he died the downfall of Yugoslavia begun.

And don't think he held them under the same umbrella by being a SJW and saying its cultural enrichment. He was a strong leader. At one time he gave the middle finger to Soviet Union as a guy who is heading a socialist state. That in my opinion is as badass as it gets.

I would say Austria- Hungary was a bigger failure overall. Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia were part of the Habsburg Austria-Hungary Empire until the end of the Great War. Along with some Ruthenians, Romanians, Hungarians, Ukrainians, Poles, Austrians, Czechs, SLovaks, and Italians it comprised a multi-cultural empire. Its collapse was due in part to nationalism of the several different ethnic groups and the idea of self determination of the south slav, or Yugoslavian people, also the Czechs were also quite in favor of leaving the Empire. These nationalist groups wanted independence after US President Wilson's speech/s on self determination of nations.

What I would like to say is that multi cultural nations might be doomed to fall apart and Yugoslavia fell apart due to the power vacuum left after Tito's death. He was the strong man keeping the Yugoslavian regime together. Without a strong centralized government led by Tito the Yugoslavians like the Habsburgs fell apart into smaller states with far less influence and power and prestige. Europe's history is of near constant conflict between Europeans and against invasions like that of the Ottomans that were finally stopped at Vienna in 1683. Then for a long time the Ottomans declined and became what was known as, " The Sick- Man of Europe". Also Tours and the reconquista are interesting to note.

Islam in some way or form has been creeping into Europe and before in Anatolia for more than a millenium. Repulsed again and again with loss of life and territory. Islamic nations/empires/caliphates have been itching to stick it to the Europeans in some way or form for a very long time. The tactics have changed this time but the ultimate goal of conquest remains strong. What will be interesting is whether the different sects of the Islamic world will fight against what they think are their common enemies. Its a very complicated situation.

Essentailly I think European SJW types are ill informed and ignorant of the fact that the Muslim world is playing them for fools in the migrant crisis and their goal is expansion, not integration and assimilation. I would not trust anything that Erdogan would say or do or any strongly Islamic leader. Its Euro- centric to think nations like Turkey have the same values or identities as Germans or Italians. I wish people would cut the crap and state their motives openly. Its an invasion plain and simple.

Say for instance my pals and I are displaced and made homeless. We search far and wide for a place to stay. We travel a very long distance to find 'refuge'. When we arrive in a new town a couple and their children decide to feed us, clothe us, entertain us, house us, and give us spending money. Instead of being thankful for the great hospitality we decide to rape their daughter, stab their son, destroy the house, and steal valuables. We then come up with dubious excuses for the disgusting behavior and then ask for more and more free stuff and act like the 'real victims'. That's the crisis in a nutshell. Europeans have a right to a safe and secure life without fearing for their safety and their loved one's safety by simply going out of the house and to go into areas where they feel like foreigners in their own homeland.

I would not trust Turkey or even start to deal with them. Its the same old, same old song and dance. It hasn't changed, the goal is the same.

While making an analysis if you put the muslims in Balkans on the same boat as the goat fuckers in Middle East your analysis will be deeply flawed. You have to get over the paranoia of caliphate. Culture wise muslims in the Balkans are pretty much on par with European values. Albanians, Bosniaks are not backwards people. Middle East is a fucked up part of the world, you guys still don't understand it. It's not about religion its about the culture. Even the christians in middle east are backwards.

The religion is the culture. It dominates their thinking and their attitudes. They can have different kinds of clothing, food or language, stories, but ultimately they are muslims first! That's the unifying factor. That's what they all have in common and the 'crusaders' that bombed the hell out of Iraq, Afghanistan, Libia, etc, destabilized the whole region, wrecking families and homes. I would not be surprised if Muslims in general have a bone to pick with Europeans and European descended countries like The USA. Europeans in general have become quite secular and many are not religious or Christian in any form. But way back In 1683 a holy league was made between the Hapsburgs and the Polish kingdom and others. They put aside their differences to fight again the common enemy of the Ottoman empire. It is folly to think that Muslims in general would not stick together against any perceived threats to their dominance and also against those they think are below them and worthy of being conquered.

Europe is slowly being colonized. The First came in the post war period, followed by wave, after wave of more and more colonists towards the present day. Recently the dregs have been flowing in to wreak havoc. The situation has similarities to the European colonization of North and South America. Once the beach head is established bring in settlers, out breed the native population, and terrify them. Then push out the natives over time until the whole area is one colony with practically no natives left. Its worked in parts of neighbourhoods in Berlin and Paris. It bothers me immensely.
