Four episodes in of episode 3, not liking it as much as Seasons 1 and 2. They spent so much time turning Pablo into a complex character that the 4 Cali bosses fall kind of flat so far.

Just finished watching season 3. It starts strong but fades fast. Sort of like Game of Thrones, the first shows are good but then you have to watch a lot of rubbish to get to good parts at the end. But with Narcos you have to watch a lot of rubbish...and the end is rubbish too.

**Spoilers**

End was absolute garbage. They killed off so many main characters in the last episode. I would much rather have seen the characters fates go cliff hanger rather than quick and shallow deaths. Overall, I would rate season one 4.5/5, season two 4/5, and season three 2.5/5.

I`ve only seen the first 3 episodes but I`m loving this season. Pretty much 80% of this series was recorded in my city and it is somewhat accurate. Cinematography is on point as well.

We`ve already had a couple of series regarding the Cali cartel, but none this high quality of production. I actually live a block away from where one of the Rodriguez brothers was captured (I`m really drawn into this story since it had a deep impact in Colombia). The drug store Clinton list is true and they were on that list until about 5 years ago.

Sweet show, awesome season-

I thought a lot of Columbians were not fan of the show though? Portraying Escobar as a likeable character (or antihero)

It´s like if americans got mad over fucking half of the middle east of doing movies about al capone, the guy from the wolf of wall street, and hundreds of other criminals.

Colombia is not only about druglords and cocaine; we have our thing, but we can´t deny that this happened and that it was literally incredible. On a side note, we have had at least a dozen series in Colombia about the Rodriguez brothers, Pablo Escobar, Don Berna, FARC, M-19, etc. So I ain´t going to complain if Netflix does the same but with a better budget.

Pacho Herrera was in reality gay as fuck. Actually he embraced it. He had his own soccer team of gay men that played with him and fucked with him.

Also, the first extradited drug dealer (he appears in season one), last name ledher, was also gayer than a bag of dicks.

He didn´t care about it. None of these cartel druglords care after they reach a certain point of power.

But yeah, that scene was fucking disgusting. And not a single tit on the entire season.

I think this is a conscious decision by Netflix to reduce the female nudity in all their series this year. Same happened with this season of OITNB and their other series, tits completely disappeared. The gay stuff has been ramped up considerably though.

Had to watch season 3 without subtitles after reading a summary of each episode. It was a good season. Dont understand people who are complaining, it is based on real events, even the gay Pacho.

All you gotta do is ask them questions and listen to what they have to say and shit.

What is Pêpê Rapazote accent in Narcos as Chepe? He sounds very clear (almost too perfect) in his pronunciation but the actor himself is from Portugal. I wonder what he sounds like to Hispanohablante ears?

He speaks sort of BBC spanish. very clear, and concise. Even too clear, it seems as if he was trying to hard not to show his accent.

Good performance though. He was quite a nice character. Sadistic, inaltered by most event except for when his lab got blown up.

Narcos producer murdered in Mexico while scouting locations

Ironically, the killers were almost certainly connected to the drug trade in some way, directly or indirectly.

Man, I tried to watch the series and the brazilian accent really kills the immersion for me. It's not so much that the spanish is bad, it's the accent. They are showing goddamn Pablo Escobar, they should have used a Paisa actor with paisa accent to perform it. The paisa accent is pretty distinct and different from all colombians so to be honest i couldn't bear watching it because of it.Cheers bro.

RE: Narcos: New Netflix Series About Pablo Escobar
Like other people said before me, if you speak Spanish, have done some research on Escobar, watched some real footage and listened to real audios, Narcos can't compete with El Patrón Del Mal. Narcos is like one big video game, and having Moura playing Escobar is like having a German actor who doesn't even speak English playing Al Capone. He also plays Escobar like some conveyor-belt videogame baddie, all over-the-top badass faces. What was chilling about Escobar was the contrast between his laid-back affable appearance and slow, mellow Paisa accent and the psychopath luring within that could come out any time, as you can hear in the tapes where he threatens top political and judiciary figures without losing his cool one bit or changing his casual monotone delivery. The actor in EPDM doesn't completely nail him but at least the accent is convincing even though he's from Bogota and his portrayal is much closer to the real Escobar, even though the actor looks to much like a chubby nice guy.

RE: Narcos: New Netflix Series About Pablo Escobar
I liked season 3.

The Chief of Security was quite relatable as a guy that was drawn into the web of organised crime and realised too late that he was trapped. I'm glad that he understood what the killing of his predecessor meant for him and immediately started looking for ways to save himself and his family. For all the talk of the subtle, businesslike and gentlemanly behaviour of the Cali Cartel at the start of the series, it was clear that they quickly devolved into the barbarism of the Medellin cartel as soon as their leader was imprisoned.

I don't understand how these criminals for all of their wits and caginess don't know that by showing you are willing to arbitrarily kill completely loyal men that you are signing your own death warrant. I see this crap time and again in mobster movies; leaders drunk with power, killing followers out of paranoia or a sadistic joy of the act and it always leads to their downfall. I guess even though Narcos is based on a true story, this trope is probably just inserted to increase drama and didn't actually go down that way. I just can't see anyone being that dumb in real life. You can't build organisations when all sense of loyalty and trust is destroyed. Fear can only get you so far.

Besides that, I'm looking forward to the next season. Apparently one of the producers was killed while scouting in Mexico.

Quote:Carlos Muñoz Portal traveled to that country to search for shooting locations in the state of Mexico which is located near the border with Hidalgo. Officials found his body was found inside his vehicle in the town of San Bartolo Actopan, Infobae reported. The film company issued a short statement acknowledging the filmmaker’s passing — claiming that the case was still under investigation.

Maybe the local druglords thought extra attention would be bad for business. I figure that horse has already bolted after the success of the Sicario film.

Edit: Higgs Bosun beat me too it, damn.

Finally got to watch season 3 with the subtitles. I will give it a 9 out of ten. Full of red pill truths. Some women are whores and politicians are whores too. David kind of reminded me Joffrey Baratheon.

All you gotta do is ask them questions and listen to what they have to say and shit.

I'm a few episodes in. Pretty good so far except for Michael Pena (as Kiki Camarena). The guy has zero charisma and just kinda falls flat.

Watching Narcos Mexico just showed me the utter folly that is the war on drug. A colossal wate of time, money and lives. The world should just go back to openly whole selling it like the Opium wars.

Don't debate me.

RE: Narcos: New Netflix Series About Pablo Escobar
Just finished Narcos Mexico.

It kind of sucked. Many episodes were spent describing the players and scenery before anything happened, and then there wasn’t a real ending. Michael Pena, who is an actual movie star, was a charisma void here.

The non-Escobar Narcos seasons also seem to have less nudity, although the one girl who played Rafa’s girlfriend was game.

What Narcos Mexico did really well was explain just how much more corrupt Mexico is/was than even Columbia at the precipice of being a narco state. It really underscores how much that Wall is needed.

Pablo Escobar is dead and gone.
