International Playboy Lifestyle: Where have you been so far this year?
Interested to see what you guys have had cooking.

I will set it off:

January: Bogotá, Colombia

February: Miami Beach, Florida

March: Beverly Hills, Palm Beach, Florida

April: Buenos Aires, Argentina

May: Miami Beach, Chicago, Beverly Hills

http://www.thegmanifesto.com/2011/06/the...-2011.html

Where have you guys been so far?

There really is no lifestyle better, if I do say so myself.

(Looking forward to seeing InternationalSwagger's docket so far this year. That cat gets his travel on.)

RE: International Playboy Lifestyle: Where have you been so far this year?
Well I really can't match G's travels seeing how I'm only a trainee International Playboy but this is what I've had time with so far this year:
Rated on my lay-scale of 'no', 'yes' and 'hell-yes!'

January: St Louis - no, Minnesota - hell-yes!

February: New York City - yes

April: Rome, Italy - no

It'll get better this summer and winter though. Just booked a three week vacation in SE Asia the other day.

I find it strange that Americans class going somewhere in their own country as travelling, I guess because it's such a big country or something? If us Brits go to another town we wouldn't even mention it most likely.

The tail end of last year and the start of this year: Brazil (twice), Argentina, Chile, Peru & Bolivia.
All going to plan in November I'll take off on a 4 month+ trip that see's me visiting Germany, Russia, Mongolia, China (Transmongolian railway), Thailand & Myanmar OR China, Thailand, Burma, India. Haven't quite decided yet, thinking the fact Russia etc will be covered in snow and minus 7 degrees will either be awesome and really make the trip or be a complete nightmare.

Gringo -

"I find it strange that Americans class going somewhere in their own country as travelling, I guess because it's such a big country or something?"

Yeah, a 5 hour plane flight and 3 hour time difference is "traveling" in my book.

It was basically a list of "where I was at".

Hey rdp I've been curious about Israel for quite some time. Could you break out a trip report or data sheet?

Yeah fair point. I guess you guys do have to go pretty far to get to other cities sometimes. Not much more than 5hrs on a train and we can travel the whole country from end to end.

Hell, 5 hours in a car, and you are still in Southern California.

I guess we should add what our favorite trip was.

I would say mine was my month long trip in Bogota as far as International.

Miami Beach has been real good to me this year as well on the national front.

RE: International Playboy Lifestyle: Where have you been so far this year?
Too many cities to possibly mention so I will just list countries

Jan - Taiwan + Philippines

Feb - Still Philippines

Mar - Malaysia. Sri Lanka. Jordan. Lebanon.

Apr - Lebanon. Cyprus. Turkey.

May - Bulgaria. Macedonia

June - Macedonia. Albania (where I am now)

So 11 Countries so far this year for me.

Off to Montenegro at the end of the week followed by Serbia later in June so I should hit 13 by the end of the first 6 months of the year.

Jan - Panama

Mar - Iceland

May - Finland, Estonia, Lebanon

I'm starting to prefer staying longer in fewer countries. You really can't know the culture unless you stay at least +2 weeks.

Absolutely agreed. Too many guys go for collecting country notches. Quality over quality and spending enough time to really get the feel of the city. I'd rather have that than spend as much time in a city as travelling to and from it.

As for my list,

January - Malta, Vilnius, Lithuania

February - Lithuania, Riga, Latvia

March - Latvia, Tallinn, Estonia, Malta

April, May, June - Malta

August or September - Planning to hit up Moscow, Russia

I haven't been anywhere this year really other than East Lansing, USA for a weekend.
Going to Sweden, Norway, and Finland for 2 weeks and then India. Possibly Bangkok in Late July.

Agree with Yams about traveling slow.

Jan - Feb: Iceland

Mar - Apr: Denmark

May - ?: Poland

One country every 2 or 3 months is a good pace for me, but I know this is impossible for guys who don't make that internet money.

RE: International Playboy Lifestyle: Where have you been so far this year?
January: US (Austin)
February: Costa Rica, Guatemala
March: US (Austin and LA)
April: England (London and Bristol), Russia (St. Petersburg)
May: Russia (St. Petersburg), Czech Republic (Prague)
June: Czech Republic (Prague), Hungary (Budapest)

Planned: Ukraine (Odessa), Moldova (Chisinau), Germany (Berlin), Holland (Amsterdam), Spain (Barcelona), then off to Thailand for the Fall.
Flags acquired: Guatemala, Russia, Czech

Agree about the longer stays thing. Feel like I need at least a week just to get settled in and find all the good spots these days. Also, taking the time to sort out a nice pad in the middle of whichever city your in CANNOT be overstated.

RE: International Playboy Lifestyle: Where have you been so far this year?
January: Krakow, Poland
February: Lithuania (Kaunas & Vilnius)
March: Barcelona
April: Brazil (Sao Paulo, Minas Gerais & Rio states)
May: London
June: Nothing Sad
July: Hitting up south-east Asia for four weeks or so.

Also going to be moving abroad for a couple years in late August/early September.

One of the benefits of living in Europe is cheap international flights, making it easy to hop over to most parts of the continent cheapy and easily.

Impressive stuff.

We have some real legit International Playboys on here.

Yeah, I am thinking longer stays next year.

I hate bouncing around; ie finding banks, grocery stores, apartments, Internet, cigarette stores, base of operations, finding new heroin hook ups before I get sick etc

I like to Post Up.

Agreed. A mate of mine came down for a visit. I told I had booked a trip up to Montreal for the weekend. I told him it was 5 hours and he nearly cancelled. I reminded him that North America is a massive place and 1 hour won't get you shyt.
