Skateboarding or rollerblading is always fun. I used to skate all the time until I landed on my nuts on a rail. Freaked me out but I might buy a pair of skates and start it up again.

Exercise & Health. I bike everywhere (20 miles today!) and do muscle workouts with kettlebells and bodyweight. Also learning to cook your own healthy meals for yourself quickly breakfast, lunch and dinner is good. Go become an athlete in your spare time in your favorite sport. I'm trying to loose a lot of fat right now, and that is a big hobby by itself.

Learn an exotic language. When I was at university I did an Arabic course, and I remember how girls eye-fucked me at the library while I was doing my exercises.

I wouldn't give up on movies/television, make sure you have a general knowledge of whats popular and if you're into movies/tv watch the "classics" or the shows getting rave reviews. ie. Breaking Bad, Mad Men IMDB top 250 movies etc. think about what they mean and the topics they discuss. You can use that knowledge to show that you're insightful and "deep". Don't get movie nerd into it but just enough that if she brings up a movie you could ask questions about it or discuss how said movie relates to said portion of life. Same with books etc.

Like said before do something athletic, master some sort of martial art, sport or be knowledgeable about fitness, dance is a good one.
Cooking is a must. Music is good or anything with your hands like woodwork or metalwork, something with your hands.
Volunteering anywhere will help you get life experience and will give you higher value.

Basically learn how to do things and expand your knowledge base, get out and do something.

Resurrecting this thread, in recent years, I've combined my love of history, hiking, and camping by taking up metal detecting. It's not just for old, retired men on the beach. I live in South America and travel extensively and through good research and perseverance have discovered old Spanish colonial sites and numerous old coins and relics, usually in the jungle and other off the grid places. The research part of it (which should be 75% of your time) stimulates intellectually, while the actual search in difficult to get to areas is great excercise. My friends and I often camp in jungles and in picturesque areas. And the thrill of discovering something lost hundreds of years ago is the icing on the cake.

Singing karaoke! I can't believe nobody else listed this. I've been singing karaoke with a circle of friends and coworkers for a few years, and I've gradually gotten pretty good. I can usually get a decent cheer from the crowd when I sing.
It's much better to sing music than just listen. Of course, it would be better still to be in a band, but I wasn't anywhere good enough a couple of years ago. I could do it now. The key when singing karaoke is to get in touch with your inner rock star.

Picking up a martial art is not very expensive. Asides from the initial cost of equipment and maybe a membership, you're getting into a company of like minded people who do their utmost to improve themselves.

Personally, I practice kendo and akido, but have always wanted to give boxing a shot.

One thing to note: avoid clubs with too many women.

I too need to get some hobbies. Right now my hobbies include reading, weight lifting, and writing a blog. Most of the things I read about or write about are pretty controversial and are probably not appropriate for conversation with anyone really (abolishing democracy, positive masculinity, monarchy, and HBD do not peak interest in women, believe it or not lol).

I was thinking of getting into boxing to learn self-defense.

Though I enjoy cooking, I have never really made it a hobby of mine (perhaps I should).

I enjoy going shooting on occasion but rarely do it anymore.

One idea I have in the back of my head and its quite expensive is to learn how to fly a plane. I know a guy who has his pilots license and is in a wing club (essentially a plane timeshare to cover hangar fees and what not) and in his free time he'll just fly to other nearby cities for the day and just hang out all day and then fly back.

I think I should also try learning a foreign language. Especially one that would be useful (like Spanish here in the US).

You could learn survivalism and that could be a useful hobby in case SHTF.

Try writing a book.

Try starting an online business as a hobby. Who knows, it could become your full-time gig if it succeeds.

Learn to play a musical instrument.

May sound gay but gardening. If you live in an apartment, you could start an herb garden since its small. If you cook, you can use your herbs in your cooking.

Scuba. Aside from game there's nothing else that has given me so much joy and wonder for the amount of time i've spent on it. I found it to be lifechanging in many ways. There's nothing quite like experiencing a completely alien seascape in a remote location in Indonesia and having a big ass weird sunfish come swimming out of the deep as a completely random event.

Exploring the country.

Jumping on a bus or train on a Saturday morning at around 5am, heading somewhere that might be a city I haven't visited yet, a major market town, a tiny fishing village or somewhere I only picked because I like the sound of its name. Even if it's mundane to the people who live there, and even if all that's there is a few houses and a piece of dog shit that's been there long enough to qualify as an architectural feature, I've been doing this for the past three years and it brings me alive like nothing else.

Back at 11pm each day, ready for a quiet Sunday and the week ahead.

Walking around whatever city I'm in. I find local restaurants, coffee shops, and whatever piques my interest and enjoy.

Also a fan of cigar smoking. It's a monthly thing where I go to this mom and pops cigar shop and listen to the old guys talk about fishing or war stories. Interesting stuff.

What I like (did in when I was 13/14/15, with my dad often who called it 'coinhunting') is metal detecting. You never know what you get out of the ground. Here where I live are a lot of things in the ground, even Roman and Medieval but I never found that. I found a silver knot, dated around 1600. Also some old coins, bullets, buckels, toys, and metal stuff ranging from mostly mid 1700s until know. And a lot of crap.
