Japanese internment was not discrimination against Asians. It was a precautionary measure taken against a nationality, the Japanese, during a time of war. I heartily doubt other Asians who happened to be in America at the time shed any tears for the Japanese, seeing as how the Japanese were busily engaged in murdering and raping their relatives all over Asia and Oceania. Moreover, you really suggesting that Koreans, Chinese, Filipinos, etc should get preferences over whites, in America, because of whatever injustices real or perceived the Japanese suffered at the hands of the United States government during WWII? Lest we forget, it was the efforts of the (overwhelmingly white) US armed forces that saved those very nations from brutal Japanese occupation and a long term fate of being little more than slave sex farms for the Japanese. No good deed goes unpunished, eh?

I really have no horse in this race, I just want to clarify one thing. I never said anything about anyone today deserving preferences or reparations based on what happened in the past. I was merely pointing out that asians have faced discrimination in the past, not trying to compare their discrimination to others or nominate them for the oppression olympics. My grandpa fought in the pacific theater and referred to asians as 'japs' till the day he died. I don't believe in heaping on guilt over these things, but I call a spade a spade and the way asians were treated (as well as many other groups) was a form of discrimination. That's about all I care to say about that, from here out I'll stick to the topic.

Fascinating. He thought that having his hair done like Jamie Foxx would somehow trick people into thinking he was black. And was right! He is so white he looks gray.

And it all seems very racist to me. That whiteness is purity and even a little bit of African blood spoils it. Didn't white supremacists use to say that? A drop of mud spoils a glass of wine, but a drop of wine in mud is still mud. Very odd.

His mom is fully white (100%). His supposed dad is light-skinned, so let's say half or a quarter black (50% or 25%). That makes him 25% or 12.5% black, or even less. Very strange. All irrelevant, since he's clearly lying.

True. Nowadays the actual people getting the remedy were never injured to begin with, nor were the actual people blamed for the injustices generations ago ever in a position to inflict the injustices.

The further away we get from what created the basis for affirmative action while the calls for even more remedies from newly arrived "persecutors" grow louder, the less appropriate and acceptable affirmative action becomes.
