Here we go again, another white person pretended to be half-black to get scholarships - then kept the ride going. Shaun King, a key figure in the Black Lives Matter movement, pretended to be biracial in order to qualify for an “Oprah scholarship” to historically black Morehouse College.

The full article is worth a read but the gist is that:
1. He claims to have a white mother and black father.
2. He was beaten and left "clinging to life" for being black.
3. He's used his fake victim status to make money off racial tension.

3 is completely true.
2 is a lie, he got in A fight and had minor injuries.

I'm following this on Twitter and it's hilarious. He admitted to lying about his race to get a scholarship, too. I'm willing to bet Daily Kos, whom he writes for, will defend this faggot to the hilt.

This is nuts, two instances of white people faking black in one year and both were active in civil rights and both received scholarships at HBCUs. On top of that a South East Asian admitted he pretended to be black to get in Medical School in the 90's. Three incidents total in the last 12 months- this is crazy, I would rather talk about the hot sorority girls in Alabama but this race switching stuff is so bizarre I cannot help but watch.....

If you get free money or preferential treatment for checking off one box instead of another, of course some people will do it. It's really a miracle more don't. Anyone in the world could check the "Hispanic" box and there's nothing they can really do to prove you wrong.

lol, well I'm sure you wrote this in jest but just in case someone is going to read my post and not get what I'm getting at, it's this:

There is something called "protected groups" that is an official status created by the US Government. It includes, according to the US government:

Some minority groups are presumed to be socially and economically disadvantaged and can qualify for the 8(a) program. These groups include: African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans and Subcontinent Asian Americans.

I'm not 100% sure why they bothered to give this long list of people who qualify, since they could have just said you qualify unless you're white, much shorter and to the point that way. Hilariously, Asians and Indians are classified as "socially and economically disadvantaged" despite the fact that both groups surpass whites at virtually every metric of socioeconomic performance, be it incarceration rate, income, educational attainment, family stability, etc. Unlike blacks (or even Irish and E. Europeans) they never even suffered any discrimination during their short history in the United States. I guess they classify for extra government goodies by their great virtue of "not being white."

Anyway, the point is, if trans-racialism gains credence and white people would be able to claim to be any race they choose, you can say good-bye to state-sanctioned anti-white racism. Which isn't going to happen. We can all see which way this train has been heading for the past half a century, and it's not going to change direction any time soon, least of all because some nutty SJW freaks overstepped their bounds and started agitating for shit whose unintended consequences they're too stupid to predict. Societal change is driven by the big dogs; the true believer freaks are tolerated because they push in the same direction. If they try to wander off the reservation, though, they'll soon see that society's definitions are not so malleable after all.

The problem is that for every idiot abusing the system like this (and I agree that there's widespread box-checking abuse), there are two black dudes in shitty neighborhoods who are never told they can apply the skills they've demonstrated in selling weed or magazine subscriptions to entrepreneurialship, or that they can put up a donation page--claiming to be attacking the so-called patriarchy--to get the seed money. There are also white guys who don't even realize that their résumé got looked at more because their name is Jake Stevenson instead of Darryl Jenkins or Roberto Hernandez, even with the same qualifications. Then who gets the better job? Who buys a home with the better salary and starts building long-term wealth and stops renting earlier? Who sends their kid to better schools? Those kids then start off at a better place than the ones who didn't get those perks. There's a certain truth to the logic of affirmative action.

It's easy to ignore all the good shit that you get during the day when you never deal with not having it. It's like a decent-looking chick never have to pay for drinks or having 5 volunteers when she says she can't make rent and needs a few bucks. When she hits the wall, and all the nice shit goes away, she assumes everyone just got mean. No, bitch, you just lost your ticket. I don't know single white person who would trade places with a person of equivalent attractiveness, money, and age in another race. Switch your Tinder between good-looking guys of different races and take down the result. Across women of all races, I'd be curious what your result is.

But that's only half the story. There's another side to this coin.

People (liberals, mainly) assume that white skin is some automatic ticket to the millions and the affirmative action system, as it stands, takes this as an underlying assumption. There are some poor-ass whites in this country (especially in rural areas) who are deprived of access as much as any inner-city black person. But there's never been a so-called "white trash" box on any form. There are also some Huxtable-ass blacks who do much better than the non-famous Eminems of the world. Sure, there are objectively more of the reverse, but that doesn't mean that a lot of working-class and poor whites aren't lost in this shuffle.

Then there are other factors besides race alone. I'd rather be a good-looking black dude than an ugly white dude, especially in 2015. I'd rather be born and go to public school in New York than Arkansas. I'd rather be 6'2" and brown, than 5'6" and white. How can a race-heavy system endure when Asians, a statistical minority, do so well? Who migrates and why, in other words, is an even deeper layer. Then there's a certain "those are the breaks" factor. There are a lot of shitty hands out there you can be dealt that don't have a box on the form--no matter how much social liberals try to make it include everyone but white dudes, without explicitly saying it (on the form).

The calls for a pure "meritocracy" often come from people who don't realize they haven't worked for or earned half the shit they enjoy. But, intelligent critics of affirmative action make a lot of good points. Not every white guy wakes up in a mansion with maids giving him blowjobs. There are some lazy, non-motivated people who refuse to avail themselves of what opportunities are presented to them. There's only so much you can do to correct past injustice without penalizing or alienating people in the present.

If liberals are going to talk about "privilege," they need to be far more sophisticated in their understanding of what that even means. But, if white conservatives are going to resist the notion of unmitigated "white privilege" they need to come up with something better than "meritocracy" or one-off examples of people abusing the system.
