Thoughts on Aziz Ansari's "Modern Romance" book
So lately because of my work ( No electronics rules)
I've had to start picking up paperback books again and leaving my Kindle at home.

Spur of the moment, I decided to buy this book and see what it was all about.

At first, I actually thought it was gonna be pretty lame but it turned out to be really good.
This isn't really a review..just some of my thoughts.

Even thought the book is framed as a comedy book, you an tell that a lot of research went into it..along with some interesting graphs
At first..I thought the book was gonna be extremely blue pill.
Rarely are comedians like this extremely red pill.
Aziz isn't..He either, hasn't quite made it to the red pill side...or he intentionally chose to leave all true redpill knowledge out of the book and just skim the top.

The beginning of the book frames him as a person that has no idea why he can't pull girls.

He had a decent meet up with a girls. Tries to set up a second date with here.
But she never responds. She just goes dark..like a lot of women do.
Instead of just messaging back to say they don't wanna meet up, most people will save the awkward moment and just ignore the whole conversation.

The intelligence that hits the cusp of " red pillness" but doesn't really through the reader into it, is when he starts going into the historical data on feminism and divorce.

He attributes Betty Frieden, author of The Feminine Mystique
Which highlights the second wave of Feminism and essential brings the "Divorce Revolution" to its height.
Quote:"The shores are strewn with the casualties of the feminine mystique. They did give up their own education to put their husbands through college, and then, maybe against their own wishes, ten or fifteen years later, they were left in the lurch by divorce. The strongest were able to cope more or less well, but it wasn’t that easy for a woman of forty-five or fifty to move ahead in a profession and make a new life for herself and her children or herself alone."[13]
Friedan then decided to rework and expand this topic into a book, The Feminine Mystique. Published in 1963, it depicted the roles of women in industrial societies, especially the full-time homemaker role which Friedan deemed stifling.[12] In her book, Friedan described a depressed suburban housewife who dropped out of college at the age of 19 to get married and raise four children.[14] She spoke of her own 'terror' at being alone, wrote that she had never once in her life seen a positive female role-model who worked outside the home and also kept a family, and cited numerous cases of housewives who felt similarly trapped. From her psychological background she criticized Freud's penis envy theory, noting a lot of paradoxes in his work, and offered some answers to women desirous of further education

Essentially it is telling women to give up the idea of being a monogamous home maker...divorce your husband and go play the field.
AKA Ride the "Cock Carousel" for a while until its too late.

He also attributes a lot of the problems with dating with the fact that women have so many options that its impossible to chose.
* One graph tries to show how, in the past, people often marriage their neighbors, people in their apartment buildings, family friends ect.
It was unheard of for a person to marry someone on the other side of the city.

Thought is spread out so far that no one has anything to talk about.
Conversations are now mobile, so no one can hold a real conversation.
Aziz struggles to understand... "Text Game"

As I said in the beginning. There are parts of the books where it almost touches over subject that we have talked about forever, but no in a total red pill way.

One part of the book skims over the "First date bang idea"
Where a guy that use to put effort into original date ideas and dinner dates, eventually got frustrated and had his own date format for pulling girls online.
Instead of going on dinner dates, and investing time, he went on drink dates.
Instead of going on dates far from, he had the girl come to a venue near his house.
The problem was(or maybe it was just hidden from the average reader to keep them blue pill)
Was that the dude never mentioned building up his game to get the girls back to is place.
He set up dates to maximize his time and logistics, but was failing to get the bang.

On the other hand, the guy that had the most "fun" even if it wasnt getting laid.
Was getting dates organially, by meeting woman at church events, volunteer events ect.
The dude that was less jades about he game was genuinely trying to be an interesting and outgoing guy, that met women along the way.

Towards the end of the book.
He becomes self aware of how fucked up the American dating market is and starts to look abroad and see how other countries work.

Even though, A lot of forum members argue that Japan is a place for easy lays.
Aziz focuses on the problem of "herbivore" male AKA Japanese Beta men and women.
That completely give up on human interaction sex.
And instead allowed their culture to degenerate into pantie vending machines, tenga eggs and lounges were men can get oiled up and have a girls crawl all over them for sexual satisfaction..........instead of just learning game.

He then looks at Argentine culture.
Where men have become hounds when it comes to getting sex.
Doing everything in their power psychically and mentally, to try to get a girl into bed.
I'm sure the women of Canada would view every Argentine male as a rapist.
At the same time.. he doesn't blame the culture on the men.
He blames it as a reaction to female " Histerica" culture.
Where women plan a hysterically large amount of games before letting a man between their legs and end up being crazy because of it.
( I "tried" to date a Argentine girl.. and she did the same shit...down to stalking me after I tried to cut contact with her)
**Its my dream to become some rich woman's Chongo

*Another interesting graph out of the book was on which countries value morality and cheating.
Which countries women think its ok to cheat?

Apparently its France... where its completely ok to fuck other dudes
[Image: 8wP2PGYl.jpg]

At the end of the day.
I actually enjoyed the book.
While I didn't necessarily learn any game from it.
I saw and understood the written perspective that a lot of men in the states are dealing with.
They are frustrated with the culture of American dating..but haven't yet figured out how to beat the system.

Aziz is the real IRT.

Excellent review, I'm surprised it wasn't super blue pill, as Aziz seems to be pretty far on the left.

RE: Thoughts on Aziz Ansari's "Modern Romance" book
I read this book about a month ago and enjoyed it a lot. It is basically a sociology book with comedy mixed in. It was an overall interesting read. Yeah, this is not a book where you are going to learn game. And the suggestion at towards the end of the book of going on several of dates to get to know a girl is quite unrealistic if you're dating an American girl younger than 25. But it is a book worth reading.

Based on what exactly? He barely mentions his race in his stand up. Russell Peter's whole act is about race.

His taste in women and weak body language:

^^^^
I’d call him an IRT if he bitched about his ethnicity stopping him getting white girls - he never has.

From his body language he’s more a pussy than an IRT.

Sorry about that...

Does Aziz mention the effect of his celebrity with his interactions with women?

No.There was nothing about him leveraging his being famous for pussy.

If anything he seems to try to be as"normal" as possible.

He definitely isn't a player.

Is there anyone else who can't stand Aziz? His humor, his acting, and just all around him is the epitome of annoying. He's just the type of guy that needs to get punched in the face.

In the past before he came up in Hollywood, $5 he complained about his race.

The Beast I agree with you. I don't get all the hype over Aziz. Several of my friends always say how hilarious he is but I've seen most of his stand up specials and never laughed out loud once. I would chuckle here and there but overall it was mediocre comedy. If you listen to the audience they never bust out laughing either, like they would in a Dave Chappelle or Kevin Hart set. Boggles my mind how this guy is so famous.

To each his own, I personally find him hilarious. He reminds me of quite a few of my buddies. And yeah, he's not the most imposing dude, but I'd hardly call him an IRT. Why bring race into this?

Aziz can be funny, CAN be funny.

I enjoyed his earlier specials, but his latest stuff sucks and he's gone full blue pill.

That's part of his appeal. He plays a character who's beta and unattractive to the core, but thinks of himself as an alpha. That creates funny interactions with women. If Ansari were actually a confident and suave guy in real life, he couldn't pull off the character as well.

For some reason, American tv and movies seem to love portraying Indian men as awkward and geeky (Aziz Ansari, Kunal Nayyar) or putting them in explicitly ethnic/foreign roles. An interesting contrast would be with East Asians. They get almost no roles in anything, but when they do it's often cool (Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Fast&Furious, Star Trek, Lucy Liu, Karate Kid, Crouching Tiger).

I find his voice incredibly annoying to listen to. His material may be fine, but I can't stand to listen to it.

His voice and appearance are apart of the joke. If he had a baritone voice and an aesthetic appearance, his act wouldn't work. He's a naturally comical guy because of who he is.

I'm actually very surprised he calls out Feminism and criticizes modern women for the plights of modern dating culture. His last standup special was essential a bunch of SJW agenda pushing bullshit under the guise of being comedy. Lot's of lame chick-bait shit where he praises women and puts down men getting all kinds of cheers from the crowd etc. Awful. It almost seems more like a humorous socio-political speech at times instead of a comedy special.
