Travel Bounty?
Hi, Everyone,

Can I post a bounty on plane tickets and hotels? Meaning, I will pay X number of $ upon confirmation to anyone who can get me flight tickets, lodging in the price quality range I am looking for?

I'll do it if your demands are reasonable. I can't magically tell American to sell me a 50 dollar ticket for 20 dollars, but I can find you the cheapest fare in 2 minutes.

RE: Travel Bounty?
Ray Carlton, I'll try flightfox.com.

Elcidcampeador, I'm looking for those flights you always hear about from Vegas or LA to Hong Kong, Tokyo or even SE Asia for around US $600. I'd be leaving in June, spending a month or two. If you can find me two roundtrip tickets at that price, I'll reward you upon successful booking. I'd prefer one of those luxury Arab airlines, but realistically anything will do.

@LBB

1. The issue now is that June pricing is 10 months out and won't be discounted as much as travel that is coming up sooner (unless it's a peak period). That, and airlines don't all allow bookings more than 330 days in advance.

2. Also, the ME airlines won't really have good prices to Asia, and in economy aren't really much better than the competition (especially given you'd be flying a longer route like LAX-Dubai-HK instead of just LAX-HKG).

3. Here's what you can do for upcoming travel: http://goo.gl/flights/ZSxR
LAX-HKG for 2 months for $532.

4. Phuket for under $600. http://goo.gl/flights/T1Ey

**Again, these services such as flightfox are fine if you don't have any clue what you're doing and don't have any friends to help you out. Thankfully, this is the RVF and we can do these things rather easily.

Since you're looking to travel in 10 months, I'd wait a good 5 months before looking again and not worry twice about the fare being very expensive. There will be a sub-600$ fare to HK from LAX for much of the foreseeable future. As you can see, even Thailand is on sale now and has been for a while now.

EDIT: I'll also throw in that Tokyo is $563 on the same dates that I showed above as well. http://goo.gl/flights/Pn1A

elcidcampeador,

Where were you when I was/we were going back and forth 3x per year?

When I get a more solid plan, I'll get you to help me book and give you a small commission.

Not to hijack this thread but is this the best tool to just see what the cheapest tickets are out of a city if you have nothing in particular in mind?

It is for Berlin late August. Just shows how much it costs to fly to certain places. Anything else like this? Or this is the best tool for that?

RE: Travel Bounty?
samsamsam,

I tried what you said, and the cheapest flight was $1450.

elcidcampeadorbeat that by half, multiple times. I'm willing to give him a commission on that.
