They had an exciting fling and she planned to return back to her normal life when she discovered she was pregnant with twins - and became determined to stay with him 'to prove people wrong'.
Heddwen said: 'The pregnancy was a huge shock and when we discovered it was twins it was scary. It was very whirlwind. Nobody could believe it.'

The couple settled in the UK and their first set of twins, Melis and Esra, 11, who are non-identical, were born in May 2004, with both girls weighing in at 4lb 13oz.

Bekir was a devoted dad and but Heddwen began to long for a son.
She said: 'After my girls were born, I had piled on weight, and gone from a size 12 to a size 16. I had let myself go.

'Bekir said to me that if I got down to nine stone - the same weight as him - then we could have another baby.

'He didn't think for a minute that I would manage it, but I did. I lost four stone and he had to honour his part of the agreement and try for a baby.'

In 2009, on a trip to Turkey, Heddwen again fell pregnant - and the couple were shocked to discover they were expecting twins again.

Heddwen said: 'I was thrilled to be pregnant but it never occurred to me that it might be twins. The radiologist said the chances were about a million-to-one.'
The second set of twins, Bedir - the only boy – and Selen, now five, were born in May 2010.

She said: 'It was a big shock, maybe bigger than the first. Bekir said to me, "we're just not ready for four children".'

The week before their twins were born, Bekir opened his own kebab takeaway and he began working long and unsociable hours.

'We never saw him. When he wasn't working, he was sleeping.

I see it differently. He was with her for 7 years so it's unlikely it was just a residency play.

My take:
Guy accidentally gets girl pregnant and decides to stay with her for the good of the kids. They have more kids than he can afford so he opens his own business and works like a slave to support them. He works so hard that she starts bitching about him not being entertaining enough - or "unsociable" as she puts it.

And after sticking with her, opening a business, working like a slave to support them - after all of that, she doesn't even have the courtesy to stay in shape. He finally had enough and bailed - SHE blames the weight because it makes him seem shallow, but it was probably about a LOT more.

I dunno - I read this a bit differently, namely as a father of 3 kids. Now this family not only had 4 kids, but TWO sets of TWINS.

He was working full time around the clock at a restaurant - a notoriously risky business venture that requires lots of business acumen, hard work and TLC to keep them consistently profitable. She was at home with a pair of newborn twins AND a pair of twin 5 year olds. She did not have a 7,5,3 & 1 year old, that is much easier than 5,5,0,0.

I think this is more of a case of mutual burn out - the man getting burnt out from running his business full time and the wife from never getting a break. Being married is a team exercise, and when both people are burnt out, you don't feel like sex, you don't feel like putting in the work to get good sex in the first place. Both spouses ended up thoroughly resenting the other which is exactly what happened.

This reminds me of one of my high school buddies who is dating a broad 6 years older than him. He hasn't knocked her up yet but I bet one year with another friend. He's 24. She just hit 30. She was also previously engaged and the train wreck is best watched from afar. The only redeeming quality is that she isn't fat.

They look genuinely happy together in the picture. BUT, I can't let the guy off easily nonetheless. He straight up looks like Antonio Banderas. Her hair is shorter than his, and she is older. How did he let this happen??

She's a nascar fan but somehow hasn't ballooned up yet. Even if she stays thin, she still has a busted face. Enough problems on that front before obesity kicks in.

I had to explain to her how credit cards work. She's more or less retarded and said buddy has no game. He's a good buddy from high school who gives me excellent advice on construction and home repair. I just wish he was given common sense with all his knowledge.

Hot girls end up with horrible faces when they get fat. While with some of them, if you look closely, you can see that she could be good looking if she lost 150 LB, a fat girl with a nice face is a true unicorn.

With that in mind, there is no redeeming a girl with a busted face who gets fat.

Sure, if she could cook and knew how to break out a cold beer when her man came home, there would still be a useful place for her in this world, but society doesn't encourage that any more.

This mirrors something that just happened to me the other day actually.

The first girl I ever banged was stalking my FB and commented on a post about shenanigans at a guys birthday I went to the other day.

The chick commented on how it wasn't my birthday and that she "still remembers..." or something to that matter. The difference between her now and back then, aside from the 2-3 children is the 20-30 pounds she put on as well. Even tho back then she was a hot little blonde chick, seeing that now makes me almost regret having hit it.

I've written the following on here before, but can't find where. Either way, it's worth repeating.

For women, being fat has to do with more than just being fat. It's self-destructive behavior that wreaks havoc on their bodies and ruins their lives and the lives of those around them.

Women have less muscle mass than men and can't withstand extra weight the way men do. You know how you can work out with a lot weight and be fine, yet women try this and they're on Advil for days? That's the effect carrying around extra weight has on their bodies.

When men are instinctively repulsed by fat women, it has more to do than with those women being aesthetically displeasing. It strikes a deeper worry in us -- that we're getting damaged goods and they'll make a bad partner to breed with and/or parent with.

Most of you are younger than me, so you haven't seen the fallout from this yet. But I can tell you obesity in women sets off a domino effect of health problems that would boggle your mind. Diabetes. Back troubles. Joint pain. Blown knees, leading to knee replacements. Cancer (yes there is a link -- go here). Heart disease. Breathing problems. Digestive weirdness. Intestinal and bowel problems (ugh) that would freak you out.

Being over 40, I've seen this play out with my female friends I've known since high school and it's harrowing.

The overweight ones have laundry lists of medical problems. Every month it seems to be something else (all of it recounted on Facebook, of course). People offer them sympathy, but no one seems to make the connection between the photos that show them obese and the "selfies" they post from their hospital beds. No, that's not an exaggeration.

I know one woman who started walking with a cane when she was 45. Why? It's that domino effect I just mentioned. Excess weight led to pressure on the knees, and that led to a blown knee, and that led to knee replacements, and that didn't quite work out. So now this woman cannot walk right -- ever again -- and is on pain pills constantly.

And yet my mother and her friends -- none of whom were ever overweight at all -- are in their '70s and still active and healthy. Some even run treadmill.

So, when we read stories about men dropping their wives because they're overweight, we should *not* view these men not as "shallow." We should instead see them as self-preserving men, no different than those who avoid women with drug addictions, eating disorders, or other self-harming, health-wrecking behaviors.

It's fair to expect men to be supportive of the women in their lives. It's not fair to expect them to be martyrs for women who cannot or will not take care of themselves.
