In the last 2 months, I have gone out with 6 different girls. After on average the second date, those girls have given me radio silence. I know I haven't been messing up my text game, and my dates haven't been boring. During this time, i have went from 210 to about 190, and now all of my clothes appear baggy on my body. I previously planned on losing more pounds before buying anything new, but after my last date ( which was yesterday ) and today ( i was in a clothing store, I have gone down from a size 38x32 to 34x32) it has become glaring to me that this could be the reason. I haven't bought anything new in the last year, and most of my clothes are baggy on me except for my workout clothes. Are my clothes limiting my options? What should I do?

If your clothes don't look fit and you are trying to impress then that will not help you.

Depending on where you lost your weight maybe it could be cost effective to tailor them down to fit your current body shape.

It isn't like you need to tailor all your clothes maybe just enough to have 3 different looks.

Do you guys think I should lose the weight first, then get new clothes, or buy new clothes as I go down in weight?

^^^^samsamsam: I lost a lot around my thighs, chest and abdominal area. I guess I'll tailor some for the time being, but most of the clothes I have aren't an option.

Yeah it matters quite a bit. They should fit well and have contrasting and matched colours etc.

Just as a basic example, when I go out for a walk wearing dark shorts and a dark shirt, no girl gives me a glance. If I just change the shirt to white, I get quite a few.

Clothing style seems to be like advertising. Crappy clothing advertises a crappy person. Cool clothing advertises a cool person.

If you think your weight is going to fluctuate more, buy cheap clothes that fit well.

Go to Levis or whatever other store sells cheap and buy well fitting dark jeans. Buy a well fitting buttoned shirt that's not too dark. That's it - your date outfit is ready. $100. Easy problem to solve. One more shirt and you have outfit for the second date too.

It matters for how people perceive you and it matters for how you perceive yourself.

Buy used online, or thrift shops or second hand stores. Where there is a will, there is a way.

I always drop this comment when someone is asking about clothes, but look around on styleforum.net

Those guys are all about clothes. Maybe they have covered this topic.

It could be that the clothes are not flattering to you and thus working against you, presentation is important. Or as judging by your post you seem to be aware that the clothes are too big, it is in some way effecting your game sub consciously, you feel you have a hindrance.

For me when I buy something new and like the look of it and it complements me well, I feel a surge in confidence that usually yields results, even if the chick doesn't even notice or think the clothes look good. Months later I will look back at the clothes and sometimes they were lame, but the confidence of feeling like I was looking sharp was relaxing me to be myself and work good game.

I just wear what everybody else is wearing. It helps you fit in. People wear the same brands anyways. Before I would wear the same clothes for months. Now I try to buy new outfits regularly.

Still havent figured out how many pairs of shoes, jeans and clothes a man really needs.

Are you sure it's a clothes thing? I know clothes matter but to say they matter that much with the amount of weight you've lost they propably didn't fit you well in the first place..

As for the losing weight part, what is your plan and especially your goal? If your goal is losing another 20/30 pounds in a reasonably short amount of time, don't go buying a lot of new shit now but just 1 or 2 jeans and some shirts or whatever. Complete your wardrobe upgrade AFTER reaching your goal.

I don't know if you work-out and want to grow muscle (you should anyway) but consider that after losing fat and adding muscle you WILL be bigger again so your new clothes might just be on the small side..

If you can't get bangs and get past a second date, your game isn't as good as you seem to think it is.

After this weekend, i was going to take 2 weeks off approaching to reflect on whats happened lately, and this was one of the things that sprang up as a reason.

^^^^ LINUX: I wont put up a picture of me, but if i had to compare the effect, click this link. http://customsuitsyou.com/before-after/. My clothes now are on par with the before pictures.

Dont get it twisted, game is definetly more important than your appearance, but i'm starting to believe i need to buy some new tailored/fitted clothes now to help out

Those 'after' pictures aren't going to help that much either. The Asian guy looks pretty good, but his pose just kills it.

Fitted clothes are good if you are fit. They also have to look good.

Your clothes can diminish your game but that sounds like only a small part of the issue.

They went on a date with you DESPITE your ill fitting clothing. They already knew what to expect style wise. If your game was tight you would have had 2nd dates.

Ultimately you should get it to the point where you feel it doesn't really matter what you wear. You should feel like you can pull the baddest girls in sweat pants, a tank top and flip flops.

Depends on your game, vibe, and your angle.

You can't be a starving artist in a custom suit. A world traveller in frat boy shorts and a polo. A punk without dressing the part.

Everything is relative and if you are being very generic and playing "normal"/bland then it's completely on you. Game can be played from every angle with the exception of being bland.

Like WIA said... if you're worried about how they view your clothes, your frame is way off. You can wear whatever you want as long as you're confident wearing it. If you feel like your clothes are way too baggy, just go to target and some some cheap duds to fill in for the time being. I wouldn't invest in new suits or anything if you're still losing weight.

That said, I've seen tattoo artists and bartenders in clothes that haven't been washed in months get laid with ease. Your clothes should be congruent with your personality and game.

Me personally, I usually wear work boots, work pants, a sweatshirt / flannel, and maybe a camouflage hat. Then I play the whole "What do you think I do for a living" if they ask, and it comes out that I'm a lawyer and they find that interesting. It goes with my interests of camping and hunting. Sometimes I'll throw a curveball and wear a suit.
