When do you begin referring to girls as women?
The thread about the 50 year old Bond girl got me thinking. An ex girlfriend asked me one time why I refer to so many grown women as girls and was kind of giving me shit for it and I remember responding something like "when girls get to the age where they're not that attractive anymore then they are women". Needless to say, she wasn't super excited about my answer.

What age do you guys start calling girls women? I'm 28 and I still usually refer to girls around my age (I assume) as girls but I wonder how much longer I'll be doing that.

I feel like Roosh one time said something along the lines of "you know a girl is too old for you when the thought of eating her pussy seems like a chore rather than making you excited and rock hard".

That seems about the right age to refer to girls as women.

Honestly they're the same to me, girls, women. Sometimes I'll call them women, other times I'll call them girls.

I once tried to refer to 16+ as men and women, but it just never felt right. I worked with someone almost 30 and slamming into the wall fast, and I still call her a girl. There is definitely something that makes them women. Having children seems to be part of it, but an 18 year old with a child, unless she is married maybe, I have trouble seeing as a woman. If she is 18 or 20 and married with a kid, then probably yes, woman.

RE: When do you begin referring to girls as women?
It's a case by case basis for me, depends on the girl/woman. Not so much blanket treatment based on age.

For an attractive one, I will refer to her as a woman:
1) When she's noticeably past her prime looks
2) If she has a kid

Basically, I use "woman" when she no longer has that new car smell. I sometimes use "sloot" or "chick" for any pre-menopausal girl/woman.

I don't have a policy for unattractive ones, because I rarely refer to them.

Girls or women are usually perpetually children anyways, some of them grow out of it when they become mothers or grandmothers.

Relevant Schopenhauer:

Quote:Women are directly adapted to act as the nurses and educators of our early childhood, for the simple reason that they themselves are childish, foolish, and short-sighted—in a word, are big children all their lives, something intermediate between the child and the man, who is a man in the strict sense of the word.

...Women remain children all their lives, for they always see only what is near at hand, cling to the present, take the appearance of a thing for reality, and prefer trifling matters to the most important.

1st thing: don't worry about shit like that! I know older women who act like girls and girls who act like kids....
Females will always have the mentality of a five year old.

2nd thing:

RE: When do you begin referring to girls as women?
I don't, in fact I've now ceased and only call them girls. If they've reached 'that stage' where they're too old to be girls, then they're invisible.

Actually no, there is an exception, if they're too old to be a girl, then they're either a wife of someone and I call them Mrs <mans surname>, or they're invisible.

There is never a time when you stop calling them girls, there is just a time when you reach a certain age and they start calling you "daddy."

RE: When do you begin referring to girls as women?
The mainstream media will often refer to a young female crime perp as a "girl" to mitigate the severity of the crime and gin up sympathy and acceptance of the female sentencing discount, even if they are over 18 or in their 20s.

A young male perp, even if he is under 18, is often referred to as a "man" because, well, men are problems, and women have problems.

In the "The Female Teacher-Male Student Caught Having Sex Thread," you can probably find lots of examples of law enforcement, defense attorneys, relatives, victims, and White Knights saying things like, "this is just a case of a confused GIRL making a bad decision..." when the perp is in her 20s.

RE: When do you begin referring to girls as women?
A lot of old women over 30 still talk about having 'girls' night out' like they are still girls.

As far as I'm concerned 22 is the line. I like girls, not women. women just sounds old and not as feminine as the word 'girls'.

It's hard to describe. A girl doesn't bear a burden. Donald Trump's wife is grown, but she's a girl. Eyecandy. Sugartits. From the earrings/posture in the Trump thread, probably a freak too. But not a woman.

This is a picture of a woman:

RE: When do you begin referring to girls as women?
It has nothing to do with age, status, or anything along those lines. It's purely about mental maturity and class. If a girl behaves with class and conducts herself with social grace then she's worthy of being referred to as a woman. Just a girl is the category in which the vast majority of females fall into. I'd define the vast majority of western "women" as girls incapable of deeper insight or self awareness. That's just the way it is.

When do you start referring to girls as women?

When they grow up, of course. So, in the West: rarely, if ever.

Females who are of an age that I might be sexually attracted to are, and will probably always be, girls, at least if I am speaking of them in the context.

The thing people don't understand is that 'girl' is not the equivalent of 'boy'. It's more like the equivalent of 'guy'. Or rather, 'girl' has multiple meanings, one of which is 'female child' and the other is analogous to 'guy.' Language isn't perfectly symmetrical and words sometimes have multiple meanings.
