I like the girl on the left a lot better, but those two are pretty typical of what you see in Buenos Aires and pretty average for portenas. In Colombia they'd be above average and in parts of the United States other than Southern California and Miami, they would also be above average, maybe way above average.

Yes, it's good. But remember there is also heavy inflation and a blue market rate vs. the official rate, which didn't exist when you were there before.

I would say that those girls are lower-7/upper-6, for Palermo night at least.

BTW, while the official exchange is 9.09 pesos/dollar to buy, but in the black market you can get 13.73 pesos/dollar. In fact, yesterday it briefly peaked at 14 pesos.

Yeah, if those are common looks for girls in Buenos Aires, that's noticeably above average compared to Southern California or Chicago-Milwaukee area, American regions I've spent my life in. Both regions are chock-full of 5'2 150lbs chicana hoodrats. L.A. white women are more likely to be in-shape than northern/Midwest white women, but have more tattoos/piercings and also can't dress for shit.

I'm into Spanish-y women, either 100% European stock with those darker, more southern euro features, or somewhere on the mestizo spectrum.

I've been to Spain, Mexico, PR; still have trouble understanding the mestizo spectrum (Español/Castizo/Harnizo/Mestizo/Indio-Mestizo/Indio). Try to help me figure this out:

Awesome sheet....I was there not too long ago and was getting 13.5 or 14 per peso on Florida st..might try to negociate higher....if you know an argentine that travels...all of them have a "guy"...bring cash

Fantastic sheet TheChef!
Reading your DS took me back to when I was in BA and made me relive some of those moments. Miss the awesome steaks, wines and beautiful sights. When I was there, it was 2.70 Pesos/$ (Canadian). Now, at 12+/$, it's looking liking a bargain and I should seriously consider going there soon. Really loved the city, even considered for a while relocating there for a few months, but plans changed and took me to Asia instead. Guess time to reconsider Argentina seriously again!

Did you make it to a football game? Preferably a Boca game? That's an unmissable thing to do there!

Did you need a visa to enter Argentina? Or just pay the reciprocity fee and that's it?

Btw, you mentioned wanting to explore other cities in Argentina, which I would greatly recommend as it's a gorgeous country with mind blowing sceneries specially further south. Go there between Oct to March when it's summer there and go to the extreme south and even make it to Ushaia, the most southernly city in the world and from there, you can easily explore Patagonia and even go to one of the true extreme frontiers still left, Antarctica.

Another great trip from BA is to get on an overnight bus, very comfy buses with fully reclining seats to Iguazu Falls. That's what I did and had a blast. I wrote about it recently:

Iguazu Falls are a true must, I'd such much better doing it with by bus as opposed to flying. It's more fun and you might luck out and end up sitting next to a cute Argie or Brasileira for the next 14 hours!

However you no longer benefit from the dual exchange rate, which more than wipes out the benefit of the $160/month saved. I moved to Argentina in fall 2014, and when the blue rate spiked to 15, it was easy to live like a king. By the time I left in early 2015, it was 13, and prices had inflated 30% - thus it was back to being normally-priced. (I left because the government cut power to my street various times, including one six-day stretch because a dissident reporter lived on the same block).

Given how fast inflation has been, I can't imagine Argentina being particularly cheap at the new exchange rate.

The exchange rate now is the same as the blue dollar rate (which was the real exchange rate actually; as it was an accurate rate of supply and demand) in 2014/2015.

160 saved is huge. I was there in November, Argentina is pretty cheap at the real rates, if you making US dollars, you can be a baller there.

I use Personal, but all the companies are crappy. The good thing is that you can buy a pre-paid SIM chip in any cellphone shop.
