You can ask for as much damages as you want. I believe this damages verdict can be appealed, however, and the total amount reduced.

This dude, despite enormous financial success, had really bad White Fever, and just had to have her love him. He's a loser and we should not be defending him. He deliberately made many many stupid decisions.
