Couldn't watch past the thunderous applause from the audience for Barry Saunders. People in modern North America are just bloody robots now. They'll scream "Hell yeah, socialism!" without realizing any of the consequences of what that would actually mean. For example, if Saunders was president you can forget having tickets to go watch Bill Maher. His program would be illegal.

It's depressing to think that kids don't just like the idea of freebies, they actually believe it will bring prosperity. Don't these kids have parents to deprogram them? My brother has to set his kids straight every weekend. It's something their mother should be doing every day after school, but that's a different conversation.

I am not a fan of a free college education. It just raises expectations of what else should be free. If you take on debt etc then you are forced to be responsible about your choices. However, on the other side of the coin there are so many BS colleges that exist because they straddle kids with debt and since the kids can't BK college debt no on gives a fuck about fucking kids over. Not everyone needs to or deserves to go to college.

I have read high school kids whine about an hour of homework a day. Think an hour of homework in college is going to help you learn anything meaningful or useful? Not in any STEM degrees. Maybe in womans studies.

Socialism (Based on Existence) = The feminine
Capitalism (Based on Merit) = The masculine

And she is a woman. I would never expect, nor demand any woman to argue against freebies. That's asking her not to be feminine.

It's 100% our job as men and Father's to uphold the "Based on Merit" principles.

As an example: my son, who was around 5 yrs old at the time, once wanted something for nothing.

Son: "Why not, Mommy always let's me?"
Me: "Well, she can do that, but I can't."
Son: "Why?"
Me: "Because that would make me a Mommy, and I'm a Daddy."

My son keeled over with laughter, because he understood exactly what I was talking about. Even at 5 yrs old, we instinctively know what the roles of the masculine and feminine should be in the world.

I could live with that. With one more caveat that they don't go to Wall Street. I have no problem with people trying to make as much as they can. I just don't see the value of providing free education to those going into professions that pay incredibly well. And that have no problem recruiting.

mandatory placement into govt gigs for the first 2-4 years could be included. only makes sense, if the government is going to pay for your education, youre going to give something back in return. Then you can go do whatever and make whatever money you want

I don't think it's a coincidence that college tuition has gone through the roof just as the female population at colleges exploded. Colleges now function, to a large degree, as finishing schools for upper middle class girls.

Back in the old days, I was able to pay for most of my tuition by having a pizza delivery job in the summer. If I'm not mistaken, the University of Maryland cost just over $1000 a semester until the early 1990s. My parents picked up the rest of the tab.

We don't live in that kind of a society anymore for many complex reasons. But one reason is that people don't want it. They want Trump Towers and glitter, not Horatio Alger rags-to-riches stories.

I think university should be free, with the following number of provisions:

• Reduce the number of university and spaces available – at most only 10%-15% of the population should get into university
• Make university VERY hard to get into
• Shut down all bullshit universities with no inherent value
• Get rid of bullshit core classes that have nothing to do with the actual majors. Reduce US degrees to 3 years
• Ban all ethnic/race/gender studies classes, unless connected to anthropology
• Any sports coaches should be funded by outside donors/sponsors, no money available from government. The focus of a university should be academics, not sports.
• Fire most of the university admin staff – a lot of them serve no purpose and are overpaid
• Textbooks should be set at a reasonable price – there’s no reason for a book to cost $180!
• All women with short hair must have a psychiatric evaluation
• 50% of female students must be international with emphasis on eastern Europe, former Soviet Union, Latin America and East Asia. Middle eastern women are welcome if they do not cover hair. Ban Swedish women.
• All women on psychiatric meds banned from campus
• Reduce drinking age to 18
• Free condoms
  

The US can easily afford to have free university education. There’s a lot of waste in the government and the universities.

I did my undergrad for free in UK a long time ago, then Tony Blair decided that he wanted more kids to go to college, and he totally fucked up their finances. Now most British kids have to pay for college.

This is an interesting and not often discussed topic. College is costing more because colleges are adding more and more 'ammenities' to their campuses. My undergrad alma mater now has a lazy river and a mini water park in the 'gym'... That said, administration costs have also hugely ballooned in the last few decades, at the expense of full time faculty positions.

The prestige associated with a college degree wouldn't be detracted simply because tuition is (hypothetically) free. There is still a matter of admission. In fact, I believe free tuition could stem the issue of undeserving rich students coasting their way on the magic carpet of fully paid tuition through prestigious universities. James Franco's roster seat could actually be filled by a student who's earned his way. Hell, it could even stifle unofficial and hush-hush affirmative action admissions.

Although middle class, bourgeois SJWs are probably seen as socialists in the US, it is hard to accept this sweeping statement when we consider that feminism, anti-motherhood and the transfer of wealth from productive husbands to consumerist wives have mostly occurred in capitalist countries.

There is no merit in modern 'capitalist' countries anyway because profit is mostly the result of usury and the merits of usury is happening to have money to lend in the first place. As the usurer boasts 'money makes money'.

In the land of usury, there is no need for the muscle of labour or the power of intellect nor creativity. Profit simply comes without effort from the mathematical power of the exponential function. Such a land is ideal for the feminine.
