It's so nice to be on a forum where people ask questions about things they don't know, instead of leaping to assumptions. I spent a lot of yesterday dealing with idiots who said, "Trump promised them all this government money! He just bribed them to stay!"
Quote:A source close to the company said President-elect Trump called Greg Hayes, CEO of Carrier’s parent company United Technologies, two weeks ago and asked him to rethink the decision to close the Carrier plant in Indiana.
....
In the end, UTC agreed to retain 850 manufacturing jobs at the Indiana plant that had been slated to move to Mexico, as well as another 100 headquarters jobs that were going to move to Charlotte and 200 engineering jobs. In return, UTC will get roughly $700,000 in state tax abatements.
Some 1,300 Carrier jobs will still go to Mexico. The company has plans in place to offer displaced workers employment and relocation in UTC’s aerospace business, or to provide funding for reeducation.
So $700,000 in tax abatements, which is a rounding error, to save almost 1200 jobs. The state will make that money back in income tax in a single year.
And the others whose jobs are being eliminated will be given funding for re-education, or employment and relocation.
WINNING.
How about this to compare to. Here in Ontario our Premier let Heinz close up a bunch of plants which led to about 2000 jobs being lost over all. The plant had good paying jobs in small communities all over Ontario.
Fast forward a little later and Wynne the lesbian Premier signs a deal with Cisco to being 1700 jobs to Toronto. Great right? Tech jobs in the new modern economy. But the details don't tell you is that Ontario had to cut a cheque for $190 million dollars to make Cisco come here, over $100K a job if you do the shit napkin math.
She probably could have kept Heinz around with the same type of deal Trump did with Carrier but chose not to. These leaders are not about protecting jobs. All these deals are all just political push plays with lobbyists and cronies making money off the back side of failed or pushed through deals.
Imagine. All it took was some hard bargaining and some meetings, and you keep jobs in America. Many of these firms don't want to leave, give them a reason to stay and they will. Many are forced with the backs to the wall, a simple olive branch and some necessary incentives (with consequences if they do leave) all you need.

This is the only 'value' a company should ever be interested in. Corporations are well advised to stay out of the 'moral value' business. Because we may just have to take a more detailed look what lurks under that sanctimonious hood. I don't know - could it perhaps be that Kellogg's is willfully poisoning millions of children with GMO corn sprayed with pesticides? Wouldn't it be a shame if Kellogg's would suddenly be associated with the hashtags #gmo #pesticides #cancercorn #cancerflakes - just from the top of my head...
So what 'values' are those motherfuckers talking about again?

It's funnier than that. My mother recently went to the Philippines, and she was shocked by the poverty and the smell. But she was talking about the major cities, and in certain farming towns, they don't even have televisions.
Now imagine taking one of those poor Filipino dudes who has never seen television and pouring two bowls of Corn Flakes (one is Kelloggs, the other is Post). You present the two bowls simultaneously and say, "One of these represents tolerance, and the other represents racism and Islamophobia, and if you tell us which is which, we'll give you a year's supply of the tolerant corn flakes." That poor man has no chance, not only because he doesn't know what tolerance and Islamophobia are, but also because they're both just fucking cereal!
So the notion that cereal represents specific political values is so stupid that only a dude who has seen hundreds of thousands of commercials can believe it.
Everyone who watches commercials declares himself to be immune to them, (and some of them actually are), but every advertiser should be immune. They're the ones who create the irrational emotional associations by manipulating sounds and images, and if you think that's unimportant, they've millions of dollars and tons of stories proving you're wrong. And if you think you can do their job: they dare you to try, and whoever makes the most money wins. (When you're dealing with clearly irrational consumer preferences, money is the only objective measure ; failing to focus on money gets you forever lost in a maze of details that will never make sense.)
But Corn Flakes guy flipped the script by implying, "I don't care about making money. I don't want to do business with those assholes, because of what their product represents." He's using the language of advertising, (which he knows is bullshit, because he works with it everyday!), to justify rejecting money!

Another thing is we need to stop calling them the mainstream media.
CNN, NBC, New York Times, Washington Post etc do not represent the majority of media consumption.
The amount of readers on InfoWars, Breitbart and Danger and Play has had has been staggering this year. They're the only ones who have been proven to not be corrupt.
They don't represent the majority of the populace either. They're just some weird holier-than-thou typists who wax lyrical about social justice and everything-ism.
And just look at the lovely name they've given us - the alternative media.
It makes us sound "out there". Fringe. Home to people who wear tinfoil hats and weave elaborate conspiracy theories about how "the media are corrupt".
Fuck all that noise.
I saw a great reply on a Paul Joseph Watson tweet where he dismissed the BBC asking for an interview:
This is the sentiment we need the hammer home.
Fuck all those news channels, newspapers, Hollywood, celebrities and more who have lied to us and manipulated at every turn.
Starting today, I implore all of you to never call them the mainstream media again.
The new term?
I used to call them the leftist or globalist media to friends, but this term hasn't and likely will never reach widespread usage because all leftists recoil from it.
Instead we need something more subtle, which is condescending but to the companies themselves rather than to the left so they are able to distance themselves from it and instead turn to our preferred media sources.
My suggestion: they are the Old Media.
They're dying, insane, senile old blowhards who are struggling to get by and ridiculously out of touch with reality.
In contrast we are the New Media.
We're young, smart, attractive and highly clued up about all matters from technology to politics.
We stay on top of all the trends and keep our ears close to the ground, outworking everyone with HIGH ENERGY and staying ahead.
Funnily enough, we're the mainstream now, so the rest of the world better get used to it.
If anyone ever doubted that this forum is a critical hub of right-wing/nationalist/whatever-you-want-to-call-it thought then this is yet another piece of evidence proving them wrong.
We've seen so many ideas first said on the forum later spread through the Twitterverse and reflected in Trump's campaign or on other thought leader sites.
It's because we're one of those "Certain Corners" of the internet that many prominent thought leaders visit, but won't say.
Mike Cernovich for instance is only a step removed from Roosh and he's getting endorsed by Flynn, our new National Security Adviser, so it's not a surprise to see how quickly our ideas spread.
The fundamental reason why is because we have the power of the Meme.
Many have doubted it, and were crushed by it's power.
Richard Dawkins invented the idea of the meme, describing it as a "unit of culture" that spreads between individuals if it's successful.
And what causes a meme to be successful?
Memes replicate, spread and go viral when they voice a particular truth that everyone recognises but has previously found difficult to put into words.
With the Red Pill, we're well acquainted with tearing apart lies and exposing reality. Thus we are natural masters of the meme, and it's why our ideas spread so easily despite not having huge advertising budgets.
Truth is exactly what we're best at and what no-one else can deliver on, which is why we're going to have so many more memes spread from RVF over the course of the next 8 years (and the following 1000 years of the Trumpenreich, praise be to Galactic Emperor Donald Trump Jr XXIII).

I have to respectfully disagree. People are taking "Drain the Swamp" to mean "establishment" people from politics and finance shouldn't be in Washington. What the "swamp" really is (a) the cottage industry of lobbyists, consultants, bloated civil service and other professions that grow like parasites on the rotting corpse of Washington DC; and (b) politicians who leverage their time in politics to (i) enrich themselves and stay in politics indefinitely, or (ii) go work in "the swamp", immediately going to a lobbying or consulting firm and in turn lobbying colleagues they had just recently worked with.
-Ban on lobbying after leaving government service for executive branch
-Same thing for Congress
-Expanded definition of lobbyist/gets rid of loopholes
-Ban on lobbying on behalf of a foreign government
-Stopping foreign lobbyists from raising money in U.S. elections
None of that has anything to do with getting established people into positions of power; their focus should 100% be on MAGA and American First, not on setting themselves up for their lucrative lobbying gig once they leave politics.
Everyone coming in is being asked to sign this "pledge" (probably not legally enforceable, but still) that they're not currently a lobbyist, and won't go into a lobbying role for at least 5 years after their time with the administration is up. That's pretty good.
So I don't have an issue with a Goldman Sachs banker - who stopped working for them 14 years ago and run a few different businesses since then including movie producing - coming in. I certainly hope it's a "best and brightest" kind of pickup.

Kelloggs breakfast cereals company announces they will never ever never advertise on Breitbart's website, because Breitbart "doesn't represent our values as a company".
It was dumb enough of Kelloggs to do this, given that Breitbart will just get other companies to advertise in place of Kelloggs.
It was even dumber when you consider the inevitable #DumpKelloggs hashtags that followed.
But the dumbest part reminds me of my favorite line from the Bible, in Genesis when God yells, "Who the fuck told you stupid asses that you were naked?" (The vision of an all-knowing God expressing frustration due to a clever logical dedication makes me laugh.)
So who the fuck told Kelloggs that their Corn Flakes and Pop Tarts represented anything other than a breakfast food? Their advertisers told us, as a manipulative ploy to get us to buy more, while looking down on us for having it work on us .
Today their lies worked on them. Praise Kek!
Latest update from Breitbart is that Kelloggs is getting bombarded - badly - with messages on their Facebook page with #DumpKelloggs hash tag.
A number of Kellogg’s Facebook pages have erupted with complaints about the company withdrawing advertisements from Breitbart News, with many users tagging their complaints with the #DumpKelloggs boycott slogan which Breitbart debuted on Wednesday.
“I for one, am sick and tired of businesses trying to get political, if you want us to buy your products, stay out of politics!” commented one user in a visitor post to Kellogg’s Rice Krispies page.
“Interesting that Kellogs never perceived hate speech until they were told to perceive hate speech. Now that you have bowed to the Michelle Obama campaign to make everything tasteless and colorless no big loss for most to stop buying,” posted another.
Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes page was also bombarded with complaints, with some users simply posting the #DumpKelloggs hashtag.
“Kellog’s comments concerning Breitbart’s readers and their decision to stop advertising on the their website just earned a walk over to my kitchen pantry,” declared one long-time Kelloggs customer. “The Special K that my husband has eaten for many years is now in the kitchen garbage can. Breitbart was kind enough to print a list of your products. I thank them. None of them will be on my kitchen shelves ever again.”
“When a company caves into the ‘demands’ of the special little snowflakes that can’t handle adult life or opposing views be prepared to watch your stocks fall (oh, wait, they already have.) Maybe you should go and read EVERY article over the last year with an open mind and you’ll find none of the ‘hate’ you profess,” posted another.
“Companies need to learn to keep politics out of business.”
One poster proclaimed, “No more Kelloggs cereals, pop tarts etc will be brought into my home,” while another added that they “wont be buying” Kellogg’s products anymore due to the company’s treatment of Breitbart News and its audience.
The following are some of the other comments made to Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes page on Facebook since the company withdraw their advertisements:
“I will buy cereal from POST or other brands because you slandered me falsely as a “bigot” and 45 million other readers of Breitbart News Network.”
“Think about this KELLOGG… There are 3,141 counties in the United States. Trump won 3,084 of them. Clinton won 57. If you want to market to 57 counties in the US and alienate 3,084 of them, well, that’s none of my business… which is exactly what you will get. #ByeKelloggs #ByePepsi”
“You can keep your cereal. I won’t buy another box since you are pulling out of Breitbart”
“You no longer share the values of my family therefore I will no longer support you.”
Various other Kellogg’s pages also received complaints including “Kellogg’s Family Rewards” and “Kellogg’s ‘Anaaj ka Nashta’.”
“Because I read a conservative news source, I don’t share your values????” commented one user on the Family Rewards page. “Let’s see you get those Gluten free lib’s buy your stuff. [I’m] switching to POST.#dumpkelloggs #IheartBreitbart”
“So Kellogg’s values are to have no moral values? That certainly makes shopping easier! Thanks idiots,” added another.
One man simply commented, “YOUR FINISHED AT MY HOUSE!,” while another proclaimed: “I am boycotting Kellogg’s products as long as they are boycotting Breitbart.”
“So Brietbart does not match your values? You mean values like honesty, intergity, love of country and our consitution,” joked one commenter, adding, “What nitwit at your company felt it would be a good idea to dis middle class Americans who buy your products? Well this Mom who does the shopping for her famiky will no longer support liberal left wing corporations.”
On the “Anaaj ka Nashta” page, one man claimed to “have purchased the last product I will ever again purchase from your company”, while a military veteran asked whether his political views meant that he was no longer welcomed by the company.
“I have served this country as a military member for over 29 years and i voted for Trump,” declared the man. “Do you not want my business anymore? Just let me know.”
The page also received the following messages:
“I will no longer purchase anything under the Kellogg’s label. They have caved in to Leftist bully tactics. There pulling of advertising is taking a direct shot at Trump supporters and the President-elect and his administration. Trump supporters, hit them where it hurts.”
“Shame on Kellogg’s for discontinuing advertising on the Breitbart.com website. Kellogg’s has succumbed to the bullies who are grossly misrepresenting the values of the site. There is zero evidence of any inappropriate behaviour on that site. Kellogg’s will discover that the 60 million Trump supporters will react unfavourably to this news. Foolishness.”
Kelloggs pulled their advertising from Breitbart News after claiming that the news outlet was not “aligned” with company values.
“We regularly work with our media-buying partners to ensure our ads do not appear on sites that aren’t aligned with our values as a company,” said Kellogg’s Kris Charles. “We recently reviewed the list of sites where our ads can be placed and decided to discontinue advertising on Breitbart.com. We are working to remove ads from that site.”
Breitbart News Editor-In-Chief Alexander Marlow slammed Kellogg’s decision in a statement and encouraged a boycott of the company.
“Breitbart News is the largest platform for pro-family content anywhere on the Internet. We are fearless advocates for traditional American values, perhaps most important among them is freedom of speech, or our motto ‘more voices, not less,’” declared Marlow. “For Kellogg’s, an American brand, to blacklist Breitbart News in order to placate left-wing totalitarians is a disgraceful act of cowardice. They insult our incredibly diverse staff and spit in the face of our 45,000,000 highly engaged, highly perceptive, highly loyal readers, many of whom are Kellogg’s customers.”
“Boycotting Breitbart News for presenting mainstream American ideas is an act of discrimination and intense prejudice” he continued. “If you serve Kellogg’s products to your family, you are serving up bigotry at your breakfast table.”
Breitbart President and CEO Larry Solov also criticized Kellogg’s, branding the act as “un-American.”
“Kellogg’s has shown its contempt for Breitbart’s 45 million readers and for the main street American values that they hold dear,” said Solov. “Pulling its advertising from Breitbart News is a decidedly cynical and un-American act. The only sensible response is to join together and boycott Kellogg’s products in protest.”
The Daily Mail did Doxx Roosh, (fuck them) but the bigger picture is that they want to target every media the old media dislikes and the way to do that is cutting all advertising.

This article made me chuckled because I believe President-elect Trump will massively trigger so many liberals and leftists...wait for it...via Wireless Emergency Alerts to the entire USA once he takes office.
You’ve probably, at some point, gotten a text alert on your phone about some nasty weather, an Amber Alert about a missing child, or even a (very poorly worded) alert about police looking for a criminal. These 90-character messages, known as Wireless Emergency Alerts (or WEAs), are part of a program put in place after Congress passed the Warning, Alert, and Response Network (WARN) Act, in 2006. WEAs allow for targeted messages to be sent to every cell phone getting a signal from certain geographically relevant cell towers (or, in a national emergency, all of them).
Here’s where things get interesting. Per the FCC, a WEA may be sent for three different reasons:
What alerts does WEA deliver?
Alerts from WEA cover only critical emergency situations. Consumers will receive only three types of alerts:
1. Alerts issued by the President
2. Alerts involving imminent threats to safety or life
3. Amber Alerts
Participating carriers may allow subscribers to block all but Presidential alerts.
This fun quirk of the Wireless Emergency Alert system was brought to my attention by Twitter user Chris Lawrence:
Chris Lawrence @lordsutch
You think Trump's tweets are bad? Wait until he has control over the completely unblockable presidential alerts on your cell phone.
11:53 PM - 29 Nov 2016 · Warner Robins, GA
Chris Lawrence @lordsutch
Congress demanded that carriers make presidential alerts unblockable. So now you'll be getting the 3 am phone call.https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/wireless-emergency-alerts-wea …
12:09 AM - 30 Nov 2016 · Warner Robins, GA
While it’d be a true nightmare to get screeching alerts from your phone that “Loser Senate Democrats still won’t confirm great man Peter Thiel to Supreme Court. Sad!”, there are some checks and balances on this. While President-elect Trump hasn’t shown much impulse control when it comes to his favorite mass-messaging service, Twitter, the process for issuing a WEA isn’t as simple as typing out a 90-character alert from a presidential smartphone and hitting “Send.”
All WEAs must be issued through FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert & Warning System, meaning that an emergency alert from the president still has at least one layer to pass through before being issued. While FEMA is under control of the executive branch (the head of FEMA is selected by the president, and reports to the Department of Homeland Security), the agency would have a vested interest in not seeing their alert system bent toward, uh, non-emergency ends.
Perhaps an even bigger protection: Getting access to the system requires some time and effort — most people with access take at least two courses in how to use the system — something that it’s hard to imagine Trump (who doesn’t use a computer) learning how to do on his own. Which means he would need the help of his support staff to issue a WEA about how news outlets still refuse to stop taking pictures that emphasize his double chin — and the only time Trump’s Twitter wasn’t full of random surges of pure id and spite was when his campaign staff took his Twitter account away from him.
