Have you noted the amount of racist attacks on Trump's physical features? Like, Trump being mocked because he supposedly (and in any case everybody appearing on TV, Obama included, does it) wears make-up, for example... people calling him "a white-faced clown of orange skin"?? Even the NY post put a picture of Trump in clownish white-face mask on its paper edition, after the first primaries victories of Trump...

So my question is: how come, if you wrote that Obama wears a lot of make-up, which he does, you're a rayciss!... if you publish a picture of Obama in black-face (which would be dumb) you're a rayciss, but if you publish pics of Trump in a white-clown face, it's okay, it's fun!...

My sister and her kids just came for dinner. Being a hot girl who works for a living and has kids, she's a little naturally shitlordy while having zero clue about politics nor history beyond headline regurgitation.

After dinner, I broached the topic of the election and asked her if she was going to vote for Trump. She replied: "No! They say Trump is like Hitler"! Which was disappointing but unsurprising. I asked her "Like Hitler"? and she applied in the affirmative: "That's what they say, like Hitler". I asked her if she knew who Hitler was, to make a rhetorical point about the actual comparison being made. I then made a couple of low key remarks about what Trump was going to do, and about how "most people, in the world and as a general rule, were idiots" and then let it drop as she seemed surprised by my voting choice and she seemed like she didn't want to get into it.

A little more unsettling was when my six year old nephew, after the first couple of sentences exchanged between me and my sister, immediately looked at me, pointed to my face, and said "You're a monster"! (for voting for Trump) and he then scampered off.

Now, I'm close with this kid. He's super-cool and we get along. My sister asked him where he got such a notion, and he said his "own brain". He hasn't a clue about politics or who Trump is and so, assuming that he didn't just pick up on my sister's reactionary tone, he got the "monster" bit from either the media or some other kids household. My sister and I let it drop with my nephew and I was teasing him about being a monster himself a little bit later.

I did troll my sister a little bit more, later, in my first steps toward getting her on the Trump train. First, I made jokes about the Trump train and her being on it. I interjected with a bit of truth about how, as a married woman with kids, she shouldn't be voting liberal (this is the type of thing that would have her start to reconsider, in addition to humor). I ended with some more Trump train humor and told her that our deceased father would have voted for Trump (true). She's a daddy's girl.

I'll get her there.

I ended the night by teaching my nephew about the difference between monkeys and apes, with the help of the Ipad.

I brought up a suborder tree that had monkeys and apes on it. It also had a human mixed in with the apes. I saw an opening to make a point.

I told him that some people think that we come from apes. He immediately said "That's not true! We come from God"!

I told him that I agreed, but that he will learn things in school that aren't always true but that he had to tell his teachers the answers that he learned in school.

He replied incredulously "Even if they aren't true? But why?" I told him that that was the way the world worked, and that he should always question everything that he learns and ask himself why he believes that it is true. However, he always needed to present the answers that his teacher wants until he gets older. I told him to ask himself if he has evidence for what he is told to believe.

The smart little bugger immediately replied "Like evidence for God"? Which made me laugh. I told him it was complicated and that we would have a further discussion about "God" when he was older. He told me he would collect the evidence when he died and went to heaven. Too funny. He saw the apes and neanderthals and was incredulous that he could come from them, with no further instruction on my part.

I think that I turned his media or otherwise cucked environment indoctrination into a win for the good guys.

*note that his and my views on evolution were beside the point on this one. He will learn both views in full and make his own decision later. I only care that he considers the strength of each position when he does. I didn't even necessarily believe what I was insinuating on evolution, but I saw it as a golden opportunity to give a critical thinking lesson as revenge against whomever before programmed my nephew in my absence. At six, he now knows to question his teachers and environment but to do it stealthily.

What a bitch move. Hitting a police animal is a really serious offense, its nearly on level to hitting an actually police officer. Usually these officers have a really tight bond with the animal and they don't take to this stuff lightly. Back in Canada I talked to some police officers who had their Police dog killed in the line of duty. They were having a whole event in his honor and constructing a statue of him at the K9 unit.

I remember a few years ago during I think the London student riots someone put a cigarette out on the back of a police horse. The horse didn't react cause they are so well trained but the person got beat the fuck up by the police and still got arrested. Don't fuck with police animals.

While the "Democracy" has been arguably breaking down for a while now, I can't but help think that these protests are the first serious indication that we are about to experience a continuing and maybe even fast slide into something non-democratic.

I think about it this way: these people are directly interfering in a formal democratic event that is a part of a formal democratic process. In other words, this is direct and effective interference with democracy.

Logically, this sets a precedent for protests and democratic interference on the part of conservatives as well. Not that they might, but the precedent is now well set.

There is no intensity governor for these protests, other than the Will and ability of the police in response. There is nothing significant that is stopping them from getting much worse, and there is nothing logical that speaks to their probable cessation after the election.

In other words, to me, these protests have the potential to be the first directly relevant salvo in an escalating conflict.

Whatever their opinion on Trump, Democracy is preserved when the process is not interfered with. When it is, all bets are probably off.

More than anything, it's the crass stupidity of (many of) his leftist adversaries that's helping him.

He has so infuriated them that now those dumb SJWs can't control themselves anymore, and do all kind of stupid things on TV, while Trump can calmly step back and watch them all auto-destruct.

Basically, I think that from now on, Trump just has to keep calm (which he will), stay above the fray (no unnecessary debate with Megyn or Cruz), stay surrounded by bodyguards, point at Hillary's judicial (past and present) situation and lack of energy, and he should be elected.
