RE: The Donald Trump thread
I just went and early voted at a local precinct near my office while on my lunch break. NO lines at all, it took less than 5 minutes. And that's one more vote for the good guys

Reminder, early voting can be done at many different locations in your district, not just the precinct you're assigned to normally. So it could actually save you a lot of time and effort to get it done now, and not wait for election day when the lines could be hours long.

Get out and vote early so there is less room for the voting day shenanigans and fraud that we have seen in many different states so far!

I made a call to Trumps campaign today. I suggested he hammer down on Cruz and defend himself against the allegation that he isn't a conservative. I also said he should tell his voters to record their votes in the ballot with their phones.

Trump's wall reminds me of Napoleon's continental system.

I read in Napoleon's biography that ultimately the CS had the effect of increasing industrialization in France. However I am not able to find any sources for it. Wikipedia claims the opposite, citing rope sales.

Can someone chime in? Did the CS help French industry?

Foreign diplomats voicing alarm to U.S. officials about Trump

Quote:Foreign diplomats are expressing alarm to U.S. government officials about what they say are inflammatory and insulting public statements by Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, according to senior U.S. officials.

Officials from Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia have complained in recent private conversations, mostly about the xenophobic nature of Trump's statements, said three U.S. officials, who all declined to be identified.

"As the (Trump) rhetoric has continued, and in some cases amped up, so, too, have concerns by certain leaders around the world," said one of the officials.

Analysis of how Cruz managed to close the gap so much in Louisiana on voting day

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-...louisiana/

Quote:This suggests that the shift probably wasn't a function of Ted Cruz's (clearly strong) get-out-the-vote effort. Field efforts like that result in relatively limited swings, and it's hard to see how they could have run a hugely successful turnout effort throughout the state uniformly.

Instead, this looks like the state of Louisiana bailed on Marco Rubio in favor of Ted Cruz.

xenophilia is running wild in this country

https://heartiste.wordpress.com/2016/03/06/hemaphobia/

A classic rhetorical trick used by leftoids is to pathologize the normal, healthy instincts of BadWhites (aka Whites with a functioning self-preservation instinct) with the purpose of ostracizing those crimethinkers from contributing to the public discourse. The winning counterattack to this leftoid rhetoric is to draw attention to their ethnomasochistic/anti-White virtue signaling, social status whoring pathology, using similarly emotion-laden words. Labeling the Left is as critical to mission success as substantive refutation of Leftist beliefs.

This is what COPROP is all about. A winning revolution against a tyranny of lies needs its rhetorical shivs as much as its dialectical shield.

An example of effective COPROP that turns leftoid tactics back on them would be the crafting of smear words that roll off the tongue and imply the recipient is suffering from a mental disorder or a sociopathic compulsion to screw over good people. For instance, a quick and dirty script flip is to substitute the suffix “-philia” to any leftoid term of disparagement.

“xenophilia”

“homophilia”

“dildophilia”

When you target leftoids with these words you will experience the exquisite pleasure of witnessing their child-like egos prolapse in a tantrum of indignation. Their confusion as to how to respond to this novel line of attack will often leave them gibbering like lunatics.

There is some truth to that.

But the American school system is still bad compared to other developed nations. Minored in Mathematics & used to be a TA for a College Algebra class at a 92 % white school my junior year.. Grading the papers was just SAD. 80% of the class was failing and the Professor has to curve the grades.

There are millions of college students throughout the country who can't do a simple algebraic simultaneous linear equations like this.

2x + y = 10
3y - 2 = 10 Find the value of x and y.

I learned that shit back home in 6th grade. Calculus was an option in 9th and mandatory by 10th grade. In almost no other country can someone even graduate highschool, let alone get into college without being able to do that. Basic algebra should not be a college class. Period! neither should ESL classes. I know it's for to attract rich East Asian students but if you can't speak English you should not be allowed to study here. Attend language school or something. Outside of the New England and the Mid-atlantic, it's also shocking how little Americans know or care about the rest of the world.

I'd argue that 60% of American college students don't deserve to be there.

Which is why I am pro Common Core. You can't have evangelical nut jobs and dumb and slutty 25 year old female teachers set the standards as to what students are learning. It's against my libertarian principles but it's necessary if you want a civilized country. Setting up nationwide British system style GCE A-level and O-level exams is absolutely necessary if America wants to compete in the 21st century.

Also hope Trump cuts federal student loans so that Universities are forced to drop their outrageous tuition prices. Plus no more loans for non-productive degrees.

I agree with this.

Colleges will take on people who will not benefit from a degree in order to increase their level of revenue. The business/for-profit approach to college in America is a shame.

Amen.

I used to teach at the college level in the Northeast and the students couldn't correctly complete or answer shit like:

10 to the second power = 100. True or false? I'd get answers like: 20, 0, 3.14, etc.

Writing skills: "There, their, they're" - completely interchangeable.

Write a cohesive 4-6 sentence paragraph to answer the question below. Yeah, ok.

You're talking shit that should have been mastered by what, 5th grade?

And the administration would gloat: "Our accepted students SAT scores have improved the last 3/4/5 years!" GTFO with that garbage.

“….and we will win, and you will win, and we will keep on winning, and eventually you will say… we can’t take all of this winning, …please Mr. Trump …and I will say, NO, we will win, and we will keep on winning”.

I love the narrative flipping idea. We really ought to be doing that in other efforts aside from this political stuff as well. We're smart guys, there has to be stuff we can come up with that helps move people back to sanity.

"In primitive times women clung to the strongest males for protection. They did not take any chances with a nobody, low-status male who did not have the means to house them, protect them, and feed them and their offspring. High-status males displayed their prowess through their kick-ass attitudes. They were not afraid to think for themselves and make their own decisions. They did not give a crap about what other people in the tribe thought. That kind of attitude is associated with the kind of men women find attractive. It may not be politically correct to say but who cares. It is common sense and it's true- and always will be."

When Trump becomes president and starts looking over the DoE, I think he is going to realize how utterly worthless it is and how it only exists so that the politicians are appearing to solve a problem that doesn't actually exist, and that gutting it almost in its entirety will solve lots of the spending problems.

This may sound strange, but there is nothing wrong with the American education system. The differences you see are the results stemming from one of the huge cultural differences between America and essentially the rest of the world, which is the notion that failure should be tolerated and sometimes encouraged to bring success.

In most other countries, the school and education system start working as a sieve on the children very early in life (around kindergarten/grade school for Asian countries, slightly later for European countries), and start sending kids onto different tracks based on the sieve. For example in Japan, kids start taking entrance exams for middle school and high school, which essentially dictates their life from thereon out.

American culture simply won't allow for a system where an early failure in life essentially dictates fate. Thus, in America, the universities behave as the sieve for the American populous instead of the earlier schools, and children are allowed to screw up as much as they want in the earlier schools until they find their successes. There is a reason why almost all of the top universities in the world are American universities. In other countries, once you make it to university, the system knows that you went through the early sieve process and are thus much less rigorous and behave essentially as a stopgap between high school and employment. However, America uses the universities as the sieve so they are much harder and more rigorous than their foreign counterparts, which is why more than half of the students drop out and why only 30% of Americans hold a degree.

The results that you see when they compare test scores between American kids and the other kids are because those foreign kids are the product of the sieving system, and the rest are somewhat hidden from view or sent on a vocational track where they don't need to be counted as heavily. In America, it encompasses everybody. Which is also why the gap between Americans and their foreign counterparts essentially disappears around the university time.

The American education system is actually part of the reason why America is so prosperous. Because failure is tolerated so widely, it creates overly optimistic people who aren't afraid of failure and thus try to shoot for the stars. Even when they get smacked down in industry or schooling, they immediately bounce back and come for more, or try something else. There is no floor to how badly you can fall in America, but there is no ceiling as to how high you can go either. Whereas, if you fail in industry or schooling in a place like Singapore or Japan or Germany, you have a ceiling set on you for essentially forever.

I don't remember the details but I remember hearing about the German educational system and how basically by the time you hit high school there it's already determined if you are going to be on the track to a 4 year university education or if you're gonna be instead heading to a vocational school of some sort. German members please chime in with more details. Contrast this to American students many of which who go to university without even knowing what they are going to be majoring in. What this tells me is that a lot of middle to upper class American kids head to university just because it's what you're "supposed" to do if you are a member of that socioeconomic class. I know that was the case for me.

Most of Europe is like that. Talking with my classmates in Sweden, where university is free, they had to bust their asses to be there. The US left loves to compare Scandi countries and tout free education but they don't think how difficult it is to get in. You don't get kids that want to find themselves so they go to college. No, the competition is high for schooling, and extremely high if you want to take liberal arts. Supply and demand. Want to be an engineer and have the grades. In you go. Thats why the system is free, students are not coddled because they think university is a right to all and becomes an extension of adolescence. The Swedes in my university level were all professional, hardworking and extremely intelligent. Made Canada look juvenile, and we are not a dumb country.

If you fuck around in earlier grades, then in grade 10 they tell you that plumbing is more up your alley. Finish high school with two years toward a trade, two on the other side and you are making good bank at 20 years old.

Maybe, but only at the expense of European consumers.

The Trump message on Chinese taking away US jobs is really stupid. American consumers took away US jobs when competition increased. If you can't win a competition when you have to compete, do you think not running the race is going to get you into better shape? The answer is unequivocally no.

The real problem is that when a factory closes, those jobs disappear, and generating new jobs becomes difficult, because whereas a factory job was something anyone could do, the new economy pays big dividends for brains, but not much else. In effect, the global supply of cheap labor is virtually unlimited, and the breaking down of trade barriers and the triump of free market capitalism has lifted billions out of poverty. This has come at the cost of a massive increase in competition against American workers, especially lesser educated ones.

US manufacturing is higher than ever, but the NUMBER of jobs is down. Those jobs are gone anyway, as manufacturing becomes increasingly efficient and automated. That's no argument to speed up the process though.

The policy question is: how do we prevent the destruction and collapse of American communities as jobs are created and destroyed at increasingly fast rates, when the rewards to cognitive ability are higher than ever?

Bernie Sanders and Trump's answers are unimaginative and predicated on a totally false understanding of economics. I will vote for Trump on the immigration issue alone, but on this matter he is just wrong.

As for the answer:

First, we have to stop encouraging massive over-education. A college degree doesn't make you more productive. Concrete skills do. Some skills are general, others specific to the job. The education system should teach those general skills. They are: reading, writing and self-discipline. From socialization perspective, a common understanding of history and our nation's heritage reinforces cultural bounds and makes us trust ea h other more. A female run public education system doesn't emphasize hard-ass work and discipline, so we basically need to wrestle control of the education system from them.

A second challenge is property rights in the event of divorce, including under no-fault divorce. Marriage is not about love. Marriage is a contract designed to mitigate risks of marriage and dictate rights and obligations during marriage and in case of divorce. Marriage contracts should be negotiated individually (although religious denominations could offer standardized versions, which they more or less already do). No marriage, no rights. This will even the playing field between men and women, and encourage men in the lower end of the playing field to make more of an effort. There's no point to working hard for "success" in the rat race if there's no women to make it worth your while. George Gilder said as much in 1984. In addition, we have to start shaming the living shit out of women for slutting it up. Men don't enter the rat-race for sluts. Men giving up on society is due to women slutting it up to bang the above-average quality males.

Third, deport the damn illegals, and go for net-emigration of third worlders for 2-3 decades. Meanwhile, invite and encourage the immigration of European women. Don't give them the vote. Ever.

Fourth, abolish the damn corporate tax. The key to creating jobs is to spur investments, whether they be public or private. Private investments are almost always more efficient, and you maximize private investments by maximizing risk-adjusted returns to equity. Risk in the US is low compared to Zimbabwe, and with a high quality workforce from carrying out policies 1 and 2, investments will flow if the corporate tax is abolished. Profits of private enterprises will explode, encourage reinvestment, spurring job growth and finally, real wage and productivty growth.

Sixth, slowly pay down the debt. You need to have low debt levels in peace time so the government can easily raise finance for war. That should be the ONLY reason the government ever runs a deficit - when it's necessary to win a war.

Fifth, de-regulate and simplify. Complicating life does nothing for anyone except the lawyers. Lawyers are smart people who make money by exploiting informational assymetries. The ideal policy and legislation reduuces assymetries, it doesn't maximizez them as the current law does. The law in general ought to be so damn short that anyone with an IQ of 100 understands 90% of it by the time he is 25.

additionally, I'd recommend abolishing the contraceptive pill and abortion, but abortion has done a lot of good in many poor communities, so if I could only abolish it for women with IQs over 115 that might be best.

The easiest policy prescription is the fair tax. It eliminates most of the tax code overnight, renderin crony capitalism a moot point if the direct subsidies are phased out too. By taxing education like all other goods, it encourages the most efficient acquisition of it. It simplifies the tax code, saving trillions in compliance costs and boosting returns to equity, spurring investment and job creation. The prebate is like a negative income tax, that will make life much easier for those at the edge of the labor market. Over time, other welfare programs can be folded into the prebate, so we get closer to Milton Friedman's NIT.

The Fair Tax is such a simple idea, but it's effects would be so profound it is a close to a one-stop cure for almost all ills.

A year from now you'll wish you started today

Not going after Lying Ted will be Trump's down fall. Rubio is pretty much dead and most of his voters are shifting to Cruz. Trump needs to show voters that Cruz is a terrible choice and nab those Rubio voters before they get to Cruz.

+1.

Never thought about it that way but in Germany for example, once you finish Grundschule ( Grade 1-4), some students are forced to attend Realschule or Hauptschule which is like technical school. Horrible. Telling 10 year old kids they can't make it to college! The smarter kids attend a "Gymnasium" which pretty much means you are allowed to have a shot at university.

The bolded part made me chuckle. Doesn't matter how poor or down on their luck Americans are. They're always optimistic. Like they're just 5 years away from becoming millionaires. Big dreamers and it's sort of true because there is no limit to success in America as long as you work hard and obey the law.

Always admired that American capitalistic spirit.

Thanks for explaining the root of it.

What's really stupid is trying to compete directly with a country that doesn't play by the same rules and where the standard of living for the average factory worker is atrocious.

I disagree. There is a time and place for Ted and this isn't it. Florida is extremely important and Rubio is the only threat there right now. Trump must ensure that Rubio does not win. I think a FL loss means a brokered convention. I think a win all but ensures Trump ends up getting > 50% delegates.

I've heard that Cruz is spending a lot of money on very vicious ads against Rubio in Florida. An uncanny ally! He knows that he needs to get 1-on-1 vs Donald to win this thing. A brokered convention won't help him.

I agree or maybe we stop the boats and the Chinese junk with a 300% tariff and do the same to Mexico and Canada real fast you'll watch them open factories here real, real fast.
