While this is true I think the democrats will be disappointed by felon turnout unless they pay cash for them to show up. And not "vote for me I'll raise welfare" but "here's $100 go vote" (and they pocket the money and stay home.)

You're correct, but he's co-opting one of their platforms and one-upping them at it. I don't have any re-franchised voter turnout data, but if I had to guess it isn't very high. Think of it like agreeing and amplifying the democrats.

DOJ's Bruce Ohr kept Mueller deputy Andrew Weissman 'in the loop' about anti-Trump dossier, sources say

Embattled Justice Department official Bruce Ohr had contact in 2016 with then-colleague Andrew Weissmann, who is now a top Robert Mueller deputy, as well as other senior FBI officials about the controversial anti-Trump dossier and the individuals behind it, two sources close to the matter told Fox News.

The sources said Ohr's outreach about the dossier – as well as its author, ex-British spy Christopher Steele; the opposition research firm behind it, Glenn Simpson’s Fusion GPS; and his wife Nellie Ohr's work for Fusion – occurred before and after the FBI fired Steele as a source over his media contacts. Ohr's network of contacts on the dossier included: former FBI agent Peter Strzok; former FBI lawyer Lisa Page; former deputy director Andrew McCabe; Weissmann and at least one other DOJ official; and a current FBI agent who worked with Strzok on the Russia case.

Weissmann was kept "in the loop" on the dossier, a source said, while he was chief of the criminal fraud division. He is now assigned to Special Counsel Mueller’s team

According to court records, an FBI memo also states that Weissmann met as early as April 2017 with a group of reporters about Manafort. The timing appears significant, coming one month before FBI Director James Comey was fired and Mueller was appointed to lead the special counsel team.

Republican lawmakers who questioned Ohr earlier this week say the connections between Bruce Ohr and his wife Nellie, who did Russia research for the opposition research firm behind the dossier, were known.

"When they went to court, the FBI knew three important things. And they did not disclose this to the court," Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said. "They knew the Ohrs’ involvement in the production of the dossier. They knew that Chris Steele had this extreme bias against the president. And they knew who paid for the dossier. And they did not disclose these key facts to the court when they went there to get the warrant to spy on Carter Page and the Trump campaign."

Fusion GPS and its co-founder have not responded to Fox News' questions for this story, or previous reports. While Fusion GPS financial records were the subject of a lawsuit, and are not public, sources told Fox News that Nellie Ohr received "multiple payments" in 2016 from Fusion GPS, and the amounts were "not small change."

Last Sunday Representative Darrell Issa was being interviewed by Maria Bartiromo about the testimony of Bruce Ohr when Issa innocuously said that Nellie Ohr was working for Fusion GPS in 2015. Previous to that statement by Issa the timeline for Nellie Ohr working with Fusion GPS began in April of 2016 (simultaneous to Fusion beginning the contract work for the Clinton Campaign and sub-contracting of Chris Steele).

If Nellie Ohr began working for FusionGPS in “late 2015”, an entire set of prior suspicions now gains a lot more traction. We have long suspected that Fusion-GPS was one of the contractors with access to the FBI/NSA database. The contractors were conducting political opposition research by exploiting the FISA 702(16)(17) process which would be available for counterintelligence purposes; hence the DOJ-National Security Division.

The gist of the story is that Andrew Weissmann was meeting with AP reporters in April of 2017, approximately a month prior to the formal construct of the Robert Mueller investigation. The information from the meeting, which was essentially based on research provided by the “reporters” about Paul Manafort, was then later used in the formation of the underlying evidence against Manafort to gain a search warrant.

We suspect those AP reporters were part of the Fusion GPS network. To understand the implications we must overlay a set of facts that has perplexed CTH for almost a year. Back in April 2017 Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats, declassified a FISA court ruling that had/has massive potential implications. The 99-page ruling, written by FISA Court Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer, outlined structural issues and admissions by the DOJ and FBI about violations of search queries within the NSA and FBI database.

Essentially, the underlying evidence within the Collyer FISA report, outlines how the DOJ National Security Division (John P Carlin), FBI and NSA (Admiral Mike Rogers) informed the court that unauthorized access to the NSA/FBI database had been ongoing for a long period of time. The “unauthorized access” was primarily driven by contractors who had access to the information database and were using it in 2015 and 2016. According to the report over 85% of searches conducted were “unauthorized” abuses of the system. DOJ-NSD head John Carlin resigned in 2016 immediately after informing the court.

Since the discovery of this issue a great deal of disconnected information has followed. Including how FBI Director James Comey allowed his friend Daniel Richman to have “special access” to this information database.

The term “contractors” is opaque in the ruling, and there are hundreds of redactions protecting the names of the individuals and groups who participated in the unauthorized searches. However, within the testimony of Fusion-GPS founder Glenn Simpson; and the story of the Steele Dossier and Nellie Ohr; we discover a nexus of information users.

Fusion GPS was/is essentially in the ‘information for hire‘ business, selling to clients for a price and using networks of journalists and former government officials to transmit, share and disseminate information on behalf of their clients. Essentially, Fusion GPS is an opposition research group with a network of journalists, paid and unpaid, that it uses to frame constructed narratives to the benefit of their clients. In the spring, summer and fall of 2016, the Hillary Clinton campaign was one such client.

In April 2017, at the time of this meeting with AP reporters, Andrew Weissmann was chief of the Justice Department’s criminal fraud section. Weissmann joined the special counsel a month later, May 2017.

We already know the FISA searches were essentially political opposition research being conducted by these opaque ‘contractors’. We know the ideology within the DOJ-NSD and FBI, the generic intent of their motive, from the communication amid the group doing the Clinton and Trump investigations; text messages, memos and emails which have since become public.

A common sense review of all facts outlines a strong likelihood these database searches were ongoing by groups and individuals affiliated with Fusion GPS and other political networks. It’s a simple process of selling information.

This information pipeline from Fusion to Bruce Ohr to Andrew Weissmann, in combination with the meeting between Weissmann and AP reporters, is essentially another round of same-method manufacturing of evidence; it is a collaborative effort.

In the first example where the Fusion-GPS information circle was exploited, the FBI gained a FISA Title-1 search warrant against Carter Page. In the second example of an almost identical information flow the result was Special Counsel Robert Mueller gaining search warrants against Paul Manafort.

It amazes T, as well it should, that he has the power to pardon this woman, to change her life from one moment to the next and to see the tears of joy on her face and in the beaming faces of her family.

Unlike the canting ghouls of the Year Zero left, T does not pretend to be constantly preoccupied with "empathy" and "compassion", and he is not afraid to both be and appear fulsomely and wholeheartedly vain and selfish -- although these qualities, which would be flaws in a lesser man, have been turned into virtues that fuel T's boundless energy and that allow him to be selfish on behalf of America and its people. But occasionally -- and increasingly often, I think -- he is visibly transported and taken over by the power to do good that has been given to him; and that is something, as T himself might say, that is really special to witness.

Seems Jim Jordan's comments fall largely in line with the "CongressAnon's" account of the Bruce Ohr testimony :

LOZ when he spoke about felons, this really stuck with me, made me love this madman even more.

He wants to help, he wants to do good, he wants to give Americans a second chance.

He straight said we're going to help, we have programs to help, and if the guys don't work out, that's fine.

He literally said some of these guys are getting 2nd and 3rd chances, he said that meaning "we're willing to work with them."

I personally believe the jail system needs reform, however I still want to know if I'm hiring a felon or not (in California they're trying to get rid of the "are you a felon" box on an application).

I'd be more trustworthy of a guy who was honest and told me his story or who came from a rehab program.

If we don't help these guys, they'll just be incarcerated again, set on a loop. (This excludes legit murderers, pedos, and actual rapists)

The few felons I know are blue collar and work their asses off - I'm stoked to see them do well.

We need to help our fellow Americans rise up together.

Trump was bragging off record that he won’t compromise with Canadians.. good! They can’t have higher tariffs or run surpluses with a country they are lucky to trade with.

People who served their time deserve second chances in life. It’s good for them and good for society - all of us. The last thing we want is released felons with idle hands and no hope. Where do you think their energy goes then? With 3.9% unemployment (and pressures on hiring illegals) employers can’t be so choosy and have to give these folks a chance. That’s a good thing. It keeps them off the street, reduces their incentives to do drugs and return to crime, and gives them a sense of purpose and meaning. This is good for all of us.

The seven newly confirmed judges are Terry Fitzgerald Moorer in Alabama, R. Stan Baker in Georgia, Charles Barnes Goodwin in Oklahoma, Barry W. Ashe in Louisiana, James R. Sweeney II in Indiana, Susan Paradise Baxter in Pennsylvania, and Nancy E. Brasel in Minnesota.

Eight more of Trump’s district court nominees are set for confirmation next week, said McConnell’s deputy chief of staff, Don Stewart. Acting on the judicial nominations was one of the primary reasons the Republican leader scrapped the Senate’s annual August recess.

"In August alone, the Senate confirmed another 15 judges — with eight more locked in for next week. These are judges who will be in place for decades," Stewart said in an email.

Democratic leaders came under fire from party activists for consenting to fast-track votes when they had the ability to force procedural votes and slow down the confirmations.

“Mitch McConnell is in the middle of stealing the federal courts for conservatives, and Democrats continue to bring a butter knife to a gunfight,” said Brian Fallon, executive director of the progressive judicial group Demand Justice and a former spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York. “It is hard to think of a more pathetic surrender heading into the Kavanaugh hearings.”

The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to begin a hearing Sept. 4 on Trump’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to replace retired Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. Liberals have mobilized in an attempt to block his confirmation.

The GOP has only a narrow 50 to 49 margin in the Senate and Republican-allied outside groups are buying ads and putting pressure on Democratic senators running for re-election in states where Trump won to back Kavanaugh’s confirmation.

The unanimous consent agreement on the nominees meant no senator objected. A Senate Democratic aide said the party’s leaders allowed the votes to go forward because Republicans already had the votes to confirm the nominees, and the deal allowed vulnerable red-state incumbents to return home to campaign before tough midterm election races.

McConnell said in an interview in December that reshaping the U.S. courts under Trump had been the proudest achievement in his Senate career of more than three decades.
