What's the concern, exactly, with arms or technology races? It's not as if we don't already have the tech to kill off most of the humans on the planet if we wanted to. How do you imagine things are going to get worse just because Russia and the US get into a little friendly competition without the ideological hatred that existed during the cold war?
"Arms race = Bad" seems to me something that most people probably think is true, but without being able to explain why. It's just part of the liberal dogma they've been taught. Are nuclear weapons delivery systems going to get a lot more advanced? I doubt it, really. I can think of a few ways, but they're not game-changers. What's likely to come out of this is a lot of great defensive tech that will make nuclear war less dangerous, by making the mass ICBM bombardment strategy obsolete.
The two big drivers of advancing technology are military development and porn delivery. Who knows what cool shit will come out of a new arms race? Maybe I'll finally get a flying car or a quantum computer or something.
On the other hand, what's the alternative to an arms race? It's Russia building their own tech while we sit here with our thumbs up our asses doing nothing for fear of an arms race, and for fear of the rest of the world looking at us askance for daring to prepare for war in the hope of peace. Well, just as in war, you don't get to opt out of an arms race with no consequences. That's just the quickest way to lose.

When people know you're not going to just let someone push you around, they're far more likely to look for an easier mark. The goal then, is to give off the distinct impression of being someone you wouldn't want to fuck with. This isn't done so you can bully others, it's done so you can prevent being bullied yourself.
Add, "Only a person who routinely engages in murderous fantasies over mere words assumes that war is caused by violent rhetoric." Ask for a list of the last ten wars the US has been involved in, and ask to prove how violent rhetoric started that war, as opposed to an opportunistic grab for power.

A far lesser evil in my humble opinion.
Indeed. Pax Mongolica was enforced by the Mongol Horde, Pax Romana by the legions of Agustus, Pax Britannica by the might of the Royal Navy, and Pax Americana by the United State's nuclear arsenal.

Let's be real though: the United States is belligerently building missile defense installations hard up on Russian borders. The US is the aggressor, not Russia. It is in this light that Russia's "aggressive" ICBM modernization efforts have to be seen. The Russians are not driving an arms race, on the contrary, they are turning the other cheek by responding to America's brazen and threatening actions by investing in their own capabilities instead of escalating towards nuclear war.
Because let's be honest: if the Russians were building missile-defense facilities on the US-Mexican border that threatened the deterrent ability of the US nuclear arsenal, the US would not respond by calmly investing in new rockets to overcome the Russian defense system. The US would escalate the situation politically up to and including an all out strategic thermonuclear exchange that destroys the world as we know it.
Strategic Missile Defense is not a defensive concept. It is the most destabilizing offensive investment possible, as it basically says to Russia or China or whomever: MAD is over, we can wipe you off the face of the world at the push of a button and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Now kneel and suck our dicks like a good slave. And make sure to sell off your banking system and major media to our (((friends))) while you're at it.
Putin needs to do everything in his power to keep MAD in effect, because Trump isn't going to lead the USA forever and demographic trends make it almost certain that the long term leadership of the USA will fall back in the hands of globalist scum. The last thing we need is globalist-controlled USA free to wreak havoc across the world without even the restraint of MAD to stay its hand.
I don't disagree with anything you say. It's obvious the Obama administration is happy to provoke the Russians for no good reason. But if we do get in a war with Russia because Obama went all Leroy Jenkins, well... I'm still going to fight for the US if necessary. This is what we get for electing such an awful, America-hating person as president.
In my opinion we need to get out of the business of defending Europe to begin with. Help them? Sure, why not, if they carry their weight. There is strategic value to having bases and access to Europe. But I'm sick of Europe hiding behind our might and using that privilege to stab us in the back.
Putin has also said he's not worried about Mr. Trump's words, because it's nothing he hasn't said plenty of times before. It's not some new level of aggression. I think once the God Emperor ascends, it won't be too long before Russia and the US find common ground and goals. This general anti-Russian mania the people older than about 40 have has got to end. We have a lot more in common with Russia than with the neckchoppers.
Why our future Christmases will be Greater than they have Ever been... a MAGA Merry Christmas to all the Great American Patriots on RVF who lead the charge as the Steel Tip on the Trump razor sharp Sword of Victory.
I am not the most religious person - however with our Great Victory against seemingly insurmountable odds against the dedicated Hate America Always Globalists and their control of Academia, Corrupted Biased Media, Silicon Valley Globalist Tech companies, international globalist monetary institutions, Washington DC Globalist Lobbyists and the UeffingN Globalists - this Victory is best described as guided by the hands of God.
We have just witnessed the greatest nearly bloodless revolution in the history of mankind (Except for the GOP supporters and Police killed by George Soros agitators like Black Live Murderers) and the Pro America Patriots here and all Americans have a great deal to be thankful for.
Quote:Trumps attend church services on Christmas Eve

Donald Trump is kicking off Christmas by attending midnight services at an Episcopal church in Palm Beach, Florida. The president-elect and his wife, Melania, arrived Saturday night at the Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. The soon-to-be first couple were married at the church in 2005. Trump has bemoaned the increased use of the term "Happy Holidays" in place of "Merry Christmas" as a sign that Christianity is under attack. As president, he's said, he'll reverse the trend. The president-elect is spending the holidays at his Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, where he's been holding meetings with senior staff, advisers and business executives.
Jews have hard and soft power in the United States. You don't get to the top without their support, or at least not crossing them. The idea that Trump lives his whole life in New York City and doesn't have Jewish support is nonsense.
Sadly, that will probably mean some neoconservative nonsense in terms of foreign policy if he's not careful. He will have to work hard to ensure hawks don't undermine his America First policies.
Still, Trump's politically incorrect real talk will make it easier in the future for patriotic Americans to call out the bad Jews like Soros and other medlers. One step at a time.
Even if God forbid Trump turns out to be a bad president, he helped shift the window of public opinion in a way that is not going back anytime soon. People are sick and tired of the bullshit. We have found out voice and we will not go quietly.
