Actually, Nate Silver was the only forecaster who had a good handle on the election -- he was the only one who kept hammering the idea that there was a lot of uncertainty and anything could happen. The other models were truly absurd -- they were showing 90% or 99% probabilities of an HRC win. The 538 model is the only one that's held up well.

Nate is not all bad, he is a real pro and the models he builds are excellent. He is worthless as a pundit -- when he strays away from the numbers (as he did in the primaries), he is as clueless as anyone else. But his models are good and he is conscientious and thorough about them, unlike almost everyone else.

Totally agree. Despite his dumbass punditry, Nate Silver's model turned out to be utterly correct again.

Speaking as a professional gambler, this is exactly what a win looks like from an underdog in a 30-70 situation. One shot to win otherwise automatic loss, and boy did Trump make the most of his only shot.

All of you need to go out, find an Amish person, and thank them profusely for electing the God Emperor.

Id really like to see NH swing our way. That state has interested me as a cool hideout ever since they had the "free state project" where the penniless libertarians all tried to take over the state.

That is why I think Hillary must be an absolute mess and in no condition to give a proper concession speech. IF the vote was closer, I could see that it would be reasonable to make some other effort to win the election, but where she is so far behind in the popular vote and the electoral vote, waiting for all of the votes to be counted can not be the real reason to not give the concession speech.

Protocol is that the losing candidate gives the concession speech so there is no problem with their supporters accepting the results of the election and working with the winning party for the good of the country. Hillary still has an important role to play, one that she will hopefully fulfill tomorrow at some point.

I did mention weeks ago that if Hillary lost I would have not been surprised that the strain of the campaign could leave her broken health wise due to the strain of running a campaign for weeks on end against Trump.

I remember being amazed yesterday (Monday, Nov 7) that Trump gave a speech in NH around 9pm and then went to MI for another speech past midnight and did not finish until after 1am, closing with telling people to go home, get some sleep and go vote today (since it was now Tuesday) and then returned to NY.
