I thought it was good. The fact that it had a pro masculinity, anti-career slave cunt, pro family message makes it better.

It's the perfect movie to bring a foreign girl too. She won't have too much trouble with the english....lines are very basic.

Haven't seen this one yet, but Jurassic Park 3 was pretty red pill as well. I haven't watched it recently since it's a shitty film, but from what I recall (spoilers):

Beta husband and short-haired career woman divorce (backstory)
Son and new, attractive younger boyfriend go parasailing above the island, shit goes down, contact is lost
Husband and ex-wife trick the main dino-expert into helping them search for the two
Woman is totally out of her element and attracts the dinos, nearly getting everyone killed, and leaving them stranded on the island with no method of escape
Beta husband never got over her, and continues his simping throughout the movie
New boyfriend is found dead, son alive, wife is in tears

I'm sure there are plenty of smaller details and examples of blue/red pill that I don't recall now. I'm not watching that shit again.

This was a very nice touch in the film. Solid flick. B.D. Wong straight up killed his speech with the park CEO. The script is adequate, but that's the scene that gives the movie a spine.

It was an awesome movie to watch from my childhood.

Technically this movie follows 15-20 years after Jurassic Park left off.

I think Pratt did an alright job - he has the swagger and cockyness that counter miss career.

The raptors were rad, the last fight could've been better, I just want to know what happened when they moved all the bio tech and the lead scientist at the end.

They built one of those new dinosaurs, they can build more. It's like designing a new drug, all of the money goes into development but it's fairly cheap to produce more pills.

In any semblance of a real world, they would just cut the escaped dino down before it could take 2 steps out of the cage, consider it a loss, then make another. Speaking of cages, am I the only one thinking those cages were ridiculously fragile considering past events on the island? Even my local zoo knows to have several layers of cages around dangerous animals.

Other than the absurd decisions that made the events of the movie possible and Pratt's acting, what's with the "my parents are divorcing" thread that went nowhere? The older kid's zero-game stare at the girls who all laughed at him? I haven't seen leering that bad since Anakin was trying to seduce Padme. Why are the raptors considered trained when Pratt had to run out of the cage and narrowly escaped? The military dude was acting like they are as obedient as a german shepherd.

Now I've known for a long time that almost all Hollywood movies are formulaic, predictable, and DUMB.

But lately, it seems to me that movies are dumber than ever. I mean, just dumb as shit.

I guess it's easy to say that I'm just old and cynical and I'm only remembering the movies of my youth through rose-colored glasses, and that movies have always been dumb. I think that's mostly true, but it's not all of it. I think as the American public has gotten dumber and dumber, the movies have been dumbed down accordingly.

I watched a cam-rip of Avengers 2 the other day and found it a hollow, meaningless, joyless affair. There was ONE scene that was actually good and "true" to the characters, and it was when they were relaxing at a party after a battle. The rest of the movie was just a loud stupid video game, devoid of human emotion.

So yesterday I saw another cam-rip of Jurassic World. It's getting rave reviews and made half a billion dollars in a weekend so I thought why not? What a DUMB movie. Just idiotic. I tried, as they say, to just "turn my brain off and enjoy the ride" but even the pseudo-science of the first movie was just dumbed down to the point of it being slush so even the stupidest redneck in the audience can say "durr, them scientists made up a super-dinosaur in their fancy lab!!"

And at no point was there ever even the hint of actual danger for the two stupid weiner kids. The movie is rated PG-13....no way a family movie would ever have the balls to have a dinosaur eat the stupid kids or the hero or the attractive female lead he just happens to end up with in the end. And the worst part is, our standards are so low that this is considered a GOOD movie. There wasn't a single moment that wasn't telegraphed or even dick-slapped across the audience's face. And because it's a sequel to a movie from 20 years ago, it contains so many throwbacks it may as well be a remake.

So yeah. I have to accept that a movie that has the originality or BALLS to surprise or challenge me as a viewer are few and far between these days...and when they are made, they're usually based on books!

How crazy is it that TV is so much better than movies now? Movies are these safe, watered down, family-friendly, politically correct piles of garbage that only exist to spawn "cinematic universes" (cause just making sequels isn't proftible enough anymore) and TV shows are the only places artists are taking risks anymore.

Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, True Detective, Fargo....these shows managed to surprise me and entertain me and keep me glued to my seat. These creators aren't afraid to kill men, women, AND children for their stories...nobody is "safe"....nothing is predictable. The opposite of movies today.

People ask me if I'm excited about Star Wars Episode 7. I'm not. I'll see it but I see no reason it won't be the same safe, watered down, marketing-focus-group pleasing, politically correct sanitized crap as the rest of the movies Hollywood makes.

At least I can always go back and watch old movies any time. OK, that's the end of my crotchety old man rant!

These are the kind of movies we need more of. Movies that tell boys its ok to boys. To encourage loyalty, strength and leadership in men, and tell women that there's more to their lives than their lattes, profits, and investor meetings.

I couldn´t agree more. Finally a movie with some solid red pill moments.

The bitchy career focused woman, discovering her maternal instincts. The alpha male lead taking care of shit. It was refreshing. No wonder manginas and SJW aren´t loving it.

Jurassic Park and Lost World (sequel) were both screenplay adaptations of books from Michael Crichton. Personally I found 1 and 2 great. Everything since then has been meh.

I'm not going to sit here and try to tell you that either of those movies aren't dumb. Certainly they are. Most blockbusters are pretty insipid and uninspired. But if you're going to watch them, why waste the time watching illegal cam-rips of them? One of the few saving graces of these kinds of movies, especially Jurassic World, is the spectacle of seeing it in on the big screen. Sitting at home watching some second hand bootleg? I don't even know why you felt the need to tell everyone it was a cam rip, at best it lets people know your opinion on the movie can be discounted because you watched a shit quality version.

I can't wait to see JW, just like avengers and transformers in the past. They're not high art and they don't pretend to be, it's all about the action and having fun with unrealistic but awesome stories.

I've let the responses stream in and surprised that the ratings are so over the top positive. To me this movie has nothing on Jurassic Park which was a proper cinematic masterpiece, a far superior film.

Yes Chris Pratt is decent and had some good lines. I only have good things to say about his character. But that isn't enough to make me rave about this movie when the dinosaurs look less realistic than a movie made over 2 decades earlier, there are no classic scenes, no building tension in the movie and a cringe worthy plot that made no sense. The product placement was over the top and now I know I should buy Coke , Hilton accommodation , Mercedes Benz and Beats headphones (or is that meta-theme irony ?)

The obsession over rating a movie based on its "red pill" credentials also seems a bit overblown. You need more than that to make a movie one that is truly great.

This thread was good for me personally however as I realised that I should pretend it was amazing in order to hit the right vibe at work on Monday morning. Sure enough I was roundly supported when I said I hate film snobs who criticise this movie rather than giving it the critical acclaim it deserves

While the characters and the plot were weak, the thing about this movie that really irked me was the stupid bitch female main character, the boys' Aunt Claire. At the beginning of the movie, she is a condescending cunt, talking down and being a huge bitch to everybody below her in the chain of command, even though they all know way more than she does about dinosaurs and park/equipment operations. When shit begins to hit the fan and they can't locate the hybrid-Trex thing, she starts trying to call the shots and tell people what to do, basically ignoring Pratt and anyone else who knows what to do, resulting in an entire team of men being killed.

Then for some reason, without her apologizing or begging for forgiveness and help, Pratt decides he's going to risk his own life and everyone else's to help this cunt and her nephews, even though she just got a bunch of people killed because she essentially told him to fuck off, and even though there are 20,000 other people who's lives are in danger. At no point in the rest of the movie does she so much as show a little remorse for her retarded actions that caused all this death and destruction, and Pratt doesn't even call her out on it.

If she would have gotten eaten or even been told to go fuck herself by Pratt, I think I would have enjoyed the movie a little more, but that sequence of events and the fact that she faced zero consequences for what she did made it way too ridiculous and kind of ruined the movie for me.
