Suffragette: A Feminist Movie
You knew this was coming. I'm actually surprised it took them this long to make a movie about feminist. I wonder what sort of shit-storm this will stir up.

There's a malnourished man in the clip-art, whom I thought was Tintin.

Out of the woodwork, into the night, onto the moonlit veranda.

Can you imagine how many dudes are gonna get dragged to this by their girlfriend/date?

Don't be one of them.

RE: Suffragette: A Feminist Movie
In principle, I have nothing against women voting so I'm not terribly critical of this film yet but I won't watch it as I suspect it will abandon its original premise for - how shall I say this? - more 'modern' sort of feminism with its accompanying notions.

Oh yes, I'm so privileged you literally can't even.

The key word is empowerment. And while women seek this sort of empowerment that this type of movies sell to them, the birth rates of the west hit rock bottom. Enjoy the decline.

At least suffragetteism was about actual discrimination.

RE: Suffragette: A Feminist Movie
Does anyone have any possible explanation as to when this cultural tide of feminism propoganda, the rape culture stuff, the pay gap agitation really came about?

I know it's been around for decades but it seems like I woke up one day about 2 years ago and BOOM, there it was. Was there some piece of legislation that funded a bunch of fem-centric NGOs? Could it possibly be correlated to a specific class of university graduates across the country at a certain year?

Did the financial/media/cultural elites finally let the SJWs/agitators off their leashes to distract from war making overseas?

Sometimes I imagine that manosphere will create a social change for the better, bet then posts like these where every second senior forum member still says that women were oppressed before getting rights to vote and/or should vote and my hands drop as I return to bitter reality.

You just know The Academy is going to get fucking wet over this.

Meryl Streep is going to cash in another Oscar and then deliver 'the most empowering women's rights speech of all time' as she waddles up to collect it.

I can see it now...

Lord help us.

RE: Suffragette: A Feminist Movie
Hollywood pandering, can't blame them as it will probably make them money. But hopefully it helps wake up more blue pill men.

And you have three ways to handle women having voting rights in your society...

#1) Give them the right to vote. Then women run society and it is only a matter of time before they bankrupt it. Women are almost always < 50% of the population. Giving them the right to vote is giving them the keys to run your society.

#2) Only give women, and men, who "earn it" the right to vote. This seems the most reasonable and fair, but in the end I fear you are allowing the camel to stick its nose in the tent, so to say.

#3) Don't allow women to vote, don't tax them as a result of it.

Hopefully it makes more blue pill men question some of these things.

Just because not being able to vote is discrimination doesn't mean I support voting for women. Get off your high horse.

1)I was not speaking about your opinion only.
2)I was not speaking from higher position then you.
3)You cant blame me for not knowing the subtleties of your refined and complex views. Usually if a person describes something as discrimination then he means it as something negative.

Piece!

My tipping point is around 2010/2011.

- That's around the time period where most people started to get smartphones. Prior to that they were used by what we would term to be early adopters. I got a smartphone in 2011.
- It's also around the time when the new wave of social media beyond Facebook (Twitter/Instagram/Vine, etc.) really blew up, enabling infinite attention whoring from anywhere (when coupled with the smartphone).
- 2011 was the year that the "Dear Colleague" letter was issued which put much greater emphasis on Title IX on university campuses.
- That was also around the time when support for homosexual marriage began to tip toward the positive. The result was an explosion in the power of the gay mafia.
- Most importantly, it was the time that some of the younger millennials (late 80's and onward) started getting out of their university years, with no real skills but full of postmodern Marxist brainwashing, and so an entire industry of attention whoring, fueled by some of what I wrote above, arose.

I got out in 2010. It seems I barely escaped the absurdity that's come since.

RE: Suffragette: A Feminist Movie
The suffragettes were a useless pain in the ass and nothing more.

In the trailer you see it to be about working rights, working conditions and gender inequality.

In reality most men barely got the vote before women. Back then a man was responsible for a wife - if she did a crime, then he could be going to jail.

You can see in the trailer how they shifted the topic of the movie to the terrible working conditions, because they had to make it about real issues. Of course the reality was that men were the ones who fought and died for it.

In now forgotten conflicts like the Battle of Blair Mountain men fought the actual military in order to receive wages to live off. The company owners were not afraid of the women.

They were afraid of men like those to rise up and kill them all.

In addition there were new entrepreneurs like Henry Ford who recognized that a well paid population could afford more products and could actually make them all even richer in the long run. And this actually turned out to be true.

Suffragettes made plenty of crazy demands back then - it was not only about votes. The people back then knew fully well what it was about.

The suffragettes were an extremist movement that few women stood behind.
