What do y'all think about other color v necks besides black and white? Express has them in like 10 different colors. I might get 1 of every color just to switch it up.

watched some james bond the other day and realized polos (especially dark blue) go great with slacks and chinos.

Does anyone wear collared neck t shirts? I got some v necks the other day but they didn't have to many colors so I settled for some collared t shirts. They all look the same to me but I'm no fashion expert....

I dont have alot of options in my town so I mainly buy Express shirts. Go to the nearest mall and look for the most trendy stylish department shores.

I'd also suggest J-Crew. J-Crew's shirts are made out of an extremely nice material. If you are interested in paying 25+ dollars per shirt, I would say that J-Crew is a great place to shop at for v-necks.

Are you talking about Polo's or button ups?

Button ups are a great choice if you can get the right patterns and colors.

Polo's are too widespread and casual in my opinion.

Oh, the shorthand for those kinds of shirts is crew necks. I like crew necks a lot.

Personally, I'm just sick of graphic tees and polo's since that seems to be what EVERY guy is wearing nowadays.

I wore one of these shirts to school once when I was a senior and the girl I was banging at the time told me I looked like a "used car salesman". Granted this is like 15 years ago, so maybe now this look is retro or whatever.

Houston, what I do is go to thrift store, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. or one the resale shops near Montrose, Buffalo Exchange, Taxi Taxi, The Way We Wore, etc. and find a shirt from $5.00 - $15.00 dollars.

I'm kind of a slender guy so I have to take any shirt I get to the tailor to get the body of the shirt fit to my body and the sleeves taken in on the arms. The absolute best tailor in Houston is Marcello's in the Galleria. It will cost you 21.50 to have the body and arms taken in.

So, here is a perfect example of a shirt I got last week, a mint condition long sleeve casual shirt, Nordstrom brand at Salvation Army on Washington Ave. cost me exactly 12.44 and then the trip to Marcello's cost me 21.50. So, for 33.94, I have a nice long sleeve casual shirt that looks like I paid a lot more for it.

This is what I do, I'm not sure if it will work for you.

I'm not sure if G Manifesto is reading this thread but there were several nice, new Brioni shirts when I went up to the Salvation Army last week all for less than $15.00 bucks. Too bad they were all L and XL. Ballin' on a budget!

This is a brand new EXPRESS dress shirt I bought from Goodwill for 6 bucks that I have not had tailored yet. Notice how the body is huge and billowy? Typical American cut of any dress or casual shirt, boxy and huge.

   

Even the arms have way too much material. Sometimes I wonder if I just have a small frame and then when I snap back into reality I realize that most Americans are just fat asses.

   

This is the Nordstrom shirt I got from Salvation Army and just had tailored, it's kind of wrinkled because it's dirty, but you can see what a difference 20 bucks at the tailor makes. This shirt fit exactly like the EXPRESS shirt above when I bought it. Now the body perfectly fits mine and the arms are the perfect length and width to my own.

   

I regularly have women come up to me and tell me that my shirts look nice or that they fit well, etc. Simple and inexpensive tip that I think adds real value to your style.

Speakeasy - express and american eagle homie. Unless you have money to blow, those are the cheapest and best material from my shopping experience. Gap has cheap ones but they're thin as fuck.

personally i prefer guayaberas to plain v-neck shirts. i don't think that there is anything wrong with them at all. They're pretty popular in Miami, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, even the NYC tri-state area and yes young guys wear them. It's all about how you wear them, just don't wear them like you're a 60 year old geezer.

By the way, Farmageddon, thanks for the pictures man. You've officially sold me on getting my shirts tailored. The difference in fit is like night and day. Dry clean/iron that Nordstrom shirt and you're seriously good to go.

Express.com on their website sells Slim Fit and Extra Slim Fit (this cut not found in Express retail stores) Shirts and you have the choice of getting collars in wide (also not found on Express retail stores) or regular. I'll report back once I get the Extra Slim Fits in the mail.
