Audience Laughs at Male Domestic Abuse Victim
Videos in link

Quote:Jeremy Kyle was forced to step in and ask his audience to refrain from laughing as a male domestic violence victim recalled how he had been forced to jump off a balcony to escape his violent partner.

Geoff appeared on the morning chat show to confront his abusive ex-girlfriend, Danni, who he has two children with.

The dad-of-two told Jeremy he wanted proof that the children were his after he found out Danni had been cheating on him.

ITVJeremy Kyle - 12th May 2015 - You're a violent cheat but I hope your baby's mineJeremy was forced to step in after the audience laughed at Geoff
In the process of recalling the history between them, Geoff spoke about how he had been assaulted by his ex.

“It was violent from her side. it is a bit embarrassing to admit it,” Geoff said.

Geoff then went on to recall a time when he was forced to jump off a third-floor balcony to escape her after she locked him in their flat.

“I ended up in hospital and I cut all my arm and back open,” Geoff explained.

The audience then burst into fits of laughter, at which point Jeremy was forced to step in and defend his guest.

“It’s not funny though is it?” he said. “I don’t want to upset anyone in the audience but if a woman was sat here and a bloke had locked her in a flat and she’d been forced to jump out you would not be laughing.

“You would be saying he is a total nightmare, he should be locked up and this is disgraceful.

“Just because it happened to a bloke it is not funny.”

The audience were quickly silenced, before clapping for Jeremy after his speech.

And Twitter was impressed with Jeremy’s monologue.

“That is one of the best things Jezza has ever said,” commented one viewer.

“Yeah, you f***ing sexist audience. Give yourself a round of applause,” said another.

At this point, Danni is invited out onto the stage and defends herself, denying that she locked Geoff in the flat.

ITVJeremy Kyle - 12th May 2015 - You're a violent cheat but I hope your baby's mineThe former lovers talk things through
“He hit me in the boob,” she declares, before embarking on a foul-mouthed rant against her former lover.

The DNA results are then revealed and Geoff finds out he is the dad.

The couple shake hands and agree to work together for the sake of their children.

Just reading that gives me mixed emotions of primarily pity and disgust on modern-day Anglo men.

It's already the Third Millennium of the Gregorian Calendar and the British Isles are STILL into this!?

Nothing funny about domestic violence. When it comes to female on male violence, we are talking about a generation of men who have been taught that "there is never a reason to hit a woman" and face real legal problems if they do defend themselves. In much of the Western world, the police are required to arrest "the primary aggressor" in DV cases, which is, of course, always the man, regardless of who is most injured, etc.

Jesus Christ. Her photo. Just waking up to that in the morning would make me want to throw myself off a balcony.

In all seriousness good for the host in having a backbone stand up for him like that and go against the narrative. DV is no joke.

Agreed, even if you don't believe in the "never hit a woman trope" everyone else seems to. And regardless of what she does: how much she slaps, punches, or kicks, everyone will condemn you as the villain the moment you lift a hand to retaliate.

RE: Audience Laughs at Male Domestic Abuse Victim
It's not funny at all.

A woman can attack a man and get off on it, but a guy will always be portrayed as some sort of monster if he defends himself. I've been in situations where I have restrained a girl only to have her spin and try and attack me as though I started the entire thing. If it had been a guy, I would have fought back, but if you hit a girl (even if she provokes it) ever white knight and his mom's social programming goes off and you become the victim of "justified" gang violence.

I could see the situation being totally different If I was living with the chick and she came at me violently. I'd want to fuck her up, but I'd also know that laying a hand on her could end in me going to jail or worse.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

A made-for-TV movie, "Men Don't Tell," aired once on CBS in 1993 and was never shown again on network television. Women's groups went bananas over it's taboo depiction of a woman violently abusing her husband in front of their kids. He's shown to have no recourse as the abuse escalates to frightening levels.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107553/

The production values are definitely 1990's television quality, but the performances are good, and it is not unwatchable.

I have an .ISO copy made from a crappy VHS dub off the TV. Every reluctant person to whom I've shown this movie has conceded that it opened their eyes/mind to the counter-narrative of woman-on-man DV. The fact that the film is so obscure speaks volumes, IMO. Seek it out if this topic interests you.

Waking up to this creature even once should've been abuse enough for the guy to bail out already.

Men deserve to be laughed at though as the naturally stronger sex, it is shameful to be suffering domestic abuse as a man. You don't have to fight back it should be easy enough to hold them back, if not, fight back then. Then leave the relationship.

Spoken by someone who has no clue the long dick of the law thinks otherwise.

If a person under the age of 18 threw a brick into your living room there is nothing you can do physically to him that won't land you in deep shit and a registered sex offender.

Trust me on this, they know how to skew the law to their favour and this includes women.

I've seen this first hand at a party I was at - girl gets mad and slaps a guy in the face, guy slaps her back, every guy in the vicinity comes and pounds on that guy and acts like they're a hero for doing so. Bitch walks away smug.

Pretty much highlights women's idea of equality though: "Equal Treatment! Equal Treatment!...But don't hit me back, cuz I'm just a girl."
