Cyr's Return to the Game Journal

Background/ Why I'm pressing reset on my game:

Jariel's recent post on Players, spectators etc. made me realise that I've spent too much of the last 8 months as a spectator in the game. I discovered this forum about 2 years ago and for the first 15 months I was making consistent progress, peaking last summer when I banged two girls in one week and could have banged a third but couldn't get it up. By September 2014, I had 10 notches aged 18. After that I had some fairly serious problems with depression, and a major std scare. This pretty much destroyed the momentum that I'd built up. I feel as though I was on the edge of a breakthrough last summer, but I ended up losing my confidence, and I'm having to start from scratch. Despite being a tall, good looking guy with a great physique, I've fucked one girl in 2015, and she approached me.

What I intend to do:

Right now I'm backpacking around SEA, (I know this forum hates backpackers but I'm only 18 and travelling with a couple friends from school). I'm going out 4 or 5 nights a week, and my goal is to approach two girls every night I go out and approach one girl every other day. I know this isn't a ton, but I really rely on momentum to get things going, and am hoping that once I get my confidence up and bang a few girls, I should be fucking a girl a week for the remainder of the trip.

I'll kick this thread off by posting the approaches I did last night after reading Jariel's post and resolving to try to get back on track.

(Last night I was on a bar crawl in Thailand):

Approach 1:

I saw a cute girl from across the bar. I walked up and asked her whose drinks he thinks is coming first. She laughed and said hers- she definitely seemed receptive. I smiled and asked her if she was German. She laughed again and said she was, asking me how I could tell, and where I was from. I responded that I was English, but before I could go on my friends called me over saying they'd bought a drink for me. Even though I was getting on well with her, for some reason, instead of asking her to come with me or getting my friends to hold onto my drink, I just said I had to go and left.

I don't know why I left her, she seemed keen and it was early in the night- something could have happened.

Approach 2:
Was dancing, danced up to a girl and asked her where she was from. She said she was Dutch. She responded with the same question. I asked her how long she's in Thailand for, she said two weeks, and responded with the same question. I danced with her for a little while, but after a bit she turned and walked away.

Approach 3:
Was dancing, danced up to a girl and asked her where she was from. Like girl #2 she was also Dutch. She responded with the same question. I asked her how old she was and she said she was 19. When she asked me, I had her guess. She laughed and said I looked 24. When I told her I was 19, she laughed again and said I looked older. I danced with her for a little while, and then girl #2 came over with two guys. It turned out that the two Dutch girls I approached were travelling together. The two guys tried to box me out of the conversation and I couldn't be fucked to compete so hard for two 5.5s so left.

Approach 4:
See two girls sitting down looking bored. They weren't particularly hot, maybe a 5 or a 6. I walked over and opened with "what's up?". They both smiled and said they were good, and asked me how I was. I said I'm doing good, but thought there would be more free drinks on the bar crawl. They agreed and laughed. Spoke to them for a bit, but the conversation wasn't going anywhere. I whipped out a cigarette and asked them if the had a light. One of them laughed and said smoking wasn't me (referring to me). I thought this was a wierd thing to say and asked what she meant. I can't remember exactly what they replied with but it was rude. I left and went home.


I'm trying to get back into the game, but at the moment I probably look the worst I have since I was 15. I sprained my wrist pretty badly a month ago and have been unable to do any upper body work (so have lost a lot of muscle). I've also been eating unhealthily whilst travelling (contributing to further weight loss, and fat gain), haven't been sleeping well and have acne for the first time in my adult life. I feel like if I can get some results here, when I go back to England and start working out again, I'll kill it.

Good start, but Id definitely suggest just approaching more girls, especially since youre traveling and if you get blown off it doesnt matter much.

Literally 1% of the time have I ever approached 1-2 girls in a night and had any luck. Usually 9-10 is required per bang (Out of any 10 girls, 1 will be too ugly for the effort, 3-4 will have boyfriends, 2 wont be able to go home with a guy due to work, living situation, whatever, leaving you praying to God that out of the 3 or so remaining, 1 is hot and wants to bang you)

Yeah I know, I'm hoping to work up to that once I get a bit of momentum and have my confidence back. In a week or two it should start getting easier again.

Daytime Approach:
<Was at a ferry waiting area, and see a girl leaving the front desk>
Cyr: What time is the ferry leaving?
Girl: He didn't know, I think I'm about an hour.
Cyr: Ah ok, that's not too bad. How long have you been here?
Girl: About 2 weeks. You?
Cyr: Haha you just get stuck on these islands. 3 days.
Girl: Ive been doing diving, so haven't wasted my time.
Cyr: Fair, hows that been?
Girl: <Losing interest> Yeah, good.
<Turns to her friend and asks should we go get a drink? Then walks off>.

I've done a couple night approaches as well, but won't post them here. I made out with one girl, but she was with a friend and decided to go home with her, so I didn't get the bang.

Yeah sure.
I was dancing in a club, it was probably 66:33, thai to foreigners in the club, in a location that a lot of thai people go on holiday at.

I was tubing in laos and three foreigners (two girls one guy) joined us on the 6 man bus to the river. I asked them were they were from, and they said they were from thailand ln holiday. They were really friendly, and we ended up going from bar to bar with them. As it went on, we all got progressively more drunk and one of the girls was really interested in me. At the penultamate bar we ended up dancing together and made out. After that, we came back to town, had a shared shower then banged.

Ive been pretty unsociable since my last post- I fell off a motorbike and cut up my leg. Nothing too serious, but I had to go to hospital, and have been on antobiotics as it got infected. So I havent really been going out.
Tonight I was feeling really motivated, and had just gotten a really nice new haircut, so decided Id go out, not drink, approach a couple of girls and if nothing happened, go home afterwards.

I ended up making it out pretty late (fell asleep and lost track of the time), and when I finally made it out, literally every girl was talking, or dancing with a guy. (There were also groups of girls talking to groups of guys, but it wasnt a situation where I could join in the conversation).

I turned to head home but about half way back, I see two white girls walking home together:
Cyr: "Hey whats up?"
Girl 1: "Hey, yeah we're good"
Girl 2 (not speaking to me): "We shouldnt have left the club. I need wifi for find my iphone".

We were passing a restaurant that Id eaten at earlier that day, that I knew had wifi, so I said, "theres wifi over there and I know the password".

Girl 2: "Fuck off stranger, we dont want your help".
Girl 1: "Sorry, shes drunk and has lost her phone".
<I left at this point>.

It was a tough blowout, but I'm really glad I tried- it was more of a personal pride thing, and my first sober approach in a while. I was determined to go out and do something, and actually followed it up even though I was comfortable in bed, so Im happy about that.

I lost my phone, and since then havent had wifi for a while.

Since my last post, I've done 40-50 approaches. On the plus side, I'm definitely getting over approach anxiety (at night). I've gotten 0 bangs though, and a few rude responses.

I've identified a few of the problems:
-Getting too drunk/ fucked up.
I've cockblocked myself a lot recently- things will be going well, and I'll start to drink too much and throw my game off. I tease girls way too much when drunk, and generally destroy any progress Ive been making with girls.

-Inability to escalate: Aside from a few exceptions (parties where I knew the girl really well, or where shes coming onto me), I only makeout with girls on the dancefloor. Even if I'm speaking to a girl at a bar, I have to get her onto the dancefloor, dance with her, and then go for the makeout. There have been a tonne of times where I've been speaking to a girl for awhile, theres definitely tension, and then it just dissapates. Very frustrating. Last night I spoke to a hot French girl for about half an hour, she was really into me, but nothing happened. Her friend even told me she really liked me when I ran into her the next day. So I've got to practise that.

I don't know why or how I've done so badly this trip (probably been clubbing 40 times with one bang to show for it), and I feel like if I'd been out this much in the UK I would have gotten a lot more action.

Its been sick aside from the girl situation though.

Firstly man, it sounds like you're doing SE Asia and hanging with other backpackers.

Firstly, the ratio is highly against your favour as you have a lot of dudes from mixed backgrounds and girls who are mostly fucking retarded travelling for one year 'finding themself' etc. They get hit on constantly by backpackers dudes and these girls are usually yuck anyway.

If you're going to SE Asian cities, found out where locals go. Dress nice with Jeans and a button down shirt and as long as you don't look like shit you should get some interest.

Secondly, if you find their interest dissipates then it might be because you're talking to them for 30 minutes. girls are birdbrains these days with short attentions spans. If the ability to escalate doesn't present itself; forget it for the mean time and move around the move. Up your value and come by her later with a cheeky remark and restart your conversation with a quicker pace.

Yeah I have been fighting a losing battle by concentrating on Western backpackers. The ratios of guys to 5s and above is very unfavourable.
I'm leaving in two days, but one of the main takeaways is to go for local girls more. It's not the end of the world as I'm only 18, this trip will be the first of many, and its been a good opportunity to hang with my friends from school before we split up and go to university.
Yeah if its not happening, I need to bounce earlier and then come back. I think part of the problem is that I don't keep conversations lighthearted enough. I tend to get into deep conversations quickly, and young, hot girls travelling and having fun would prefer something more lighthearted.
