It's a new day, but the rage endures.

The other guy in the video who didn't say shit, a.k.a. sunglasses guy, has been named along with his current employer. On reddit I saw someone, when logic had broken down their argument, argue that the "lack of empathy" shown by these guys was disgusting and is all the rationale needed for firing them. I think the glee these people have in trying to get someone fired is even less empathetic? Or just straight-up pathetic.

Meanwhile the guy who actually said the phrase continues to be unknown and forgotten.

Toronto is ran by manginas and feminists. Not much new here unfortunately. This is the sort of thing that makes me not want to work for large corporation. I'd rather work for a biker gang, at least they'd show a little more loyalty to their men.

Oh I know how Toronto is, I know... but you can look at those Facebook comments and see plenty of commentators from outside the GTA, even going out east to New Brunswick and Newfoundland or out west to Edmonton. And that's just the people who haven't made their location private. It's not just a Toronto-exclusive problem.

Although I am a habitant of Toronto, I am not a fan.
But those dudes got what they deserved, why couldn't he simply go to the game and enjoy it.
Your asking for trouble, especially in these days when so much stuff gets caught on camera.
Dude is a corporate dude making $100K for in a great company probably not busting his ass. I don't know what he does, but I know many that would sell their testicles to work for a company like that.
I work for a bigger corporation, the job is not hard. What is hard is managing the vipers, snakes and weasels you work with.

maybe some of the lawyers can answer this: for the guy who got fired, can't he sue the news agency for getting him fired for no reason? he didn't say anything threatening and they made the effort to publish his name and where he works to get him fired... I would think there has to be a law suit waiting to happen there.

Canada is not a 'right to work' country like many states are. His employer needs a legitimate reason to fire him. It really depends whats in his contract, but if he's union (which kosko pointed out, many hydro one people are) his employer is going to get screwed.

Nobody wants to mention how the team owners offered $5 beers before the game as a "thank you" to fans. I did not mention that I was at that game and everybody was getting drunk of the cheap beers. They were very small but the team usually charges more than double for that same size, and they didn't push limits aside from only getting two at once. Everybody was drunk out if their minds there and the team owners did it by design. The stadium isn't ready yet and half the stuff us busted or not done on time so they did the beer special to get fans happy (aka drunk) to not notice the stadium was in such bad shape.

It was a perfect storm for that incident to happen. Passive security as it was the first game and likely many new guards and everybody was drunk wondering around the stadium since it was new.

Open, brazen alcohol and drug use is pretty common in sports stadiums and general festivities across Canada. I think at the end it's really all about the culture of a place. (BTW I was in LA a few years ago for a music festival and was shocked that Americans just don't get "fucked up" openly like we do here, but that's a topic for another time).

Too many Toronto men these days are either manginas, or dudes with anti-game. This group of "engineers" has anti game. I can almost certainly bet none of them have a clue how to talk to a woman with the intent to bang.

FHRITP is a childlike outburst to a helplessness that is deeper than we here can understand, because...well quite frankly because we get pussy.

Shit like this was common in my high school and university amongst the gameless in-betweeners (not quite smart enough to be nerds, but not sporty enough to be jocks). Some dudes never grow up.

Nevertheless a man shouldn't be fired from his gig over it, but alas, we live in a feminized society and have to watch what we say, especially on camera.

Following up on this thread. News reports today indicate that the guy at the centre of this controversy got his job back.

Edit: kosko called it back on post #18. The union did their due diligence and got him back on the job.

As someone currently living in Ontario I am relieved to see the story end this way.

Even if you're not pulling in private sector money, there are many ways to scam the taxpayer. A new report recently indicated that 1 in 20 Toronto city employees are on "long term disability", which means sitting at home collecting 75% base salary. 51 employees have been doing this for 20 years. Wouldn't be surprised if their LTD boils down to "can't handle the stress of work".
