Hey guys,

So I managed to catch the film. Whoa, I actually enjoyed it.

I really wasn't expecting to like it at all. Thankfully, Tom Hardy handles most of the action. Charlize Theron shoots some guys and she is the impetus for most of the events of the story, but her participation isn't so overexagerrated that I was shaking my head in disbelief at every turn. The female road Warriors were dropping like flies, so I can't really say it was as grrrrllll power as I thought it was going to be.

Warning: Tom hardy is only 1 of 2 male good guys, so if you don't like a largely female cast in an action movie I totally understand.

The visuals were great. I think guys who like metal will appreciate some of the make up ( ) and the near constant references to Valhalla from the bad guys. There is also a bad ass guitar player guy who is shredding it up on top of a car as the road battles happen. It was cheesy as hell, but definitely in keeping with a bizarro post-apocalyptic cult setting.

Was it the best movie of all time? Hell no, but it was enjoyable. I found the car combat to be refreshing. Virtually all of the combat occurs on the road. There are two scenes (one of which is implied) where there is fighting on the ground; otherwise, it's mostly guys throwing explosives, cars ramming each other, big rigs crushing puny, wimpy cars and general carmageddon mayhem.

The MSM and SWJs worried that the strategy they've been playing for so long, trashing their opponents, is leading to the same thing happening to them. SJWs love to boycott anything they don't approve of, so what happens when we flip the script on them? They HATE it. Labeling Clarey an MRA - I don't think he is, nor is he a PUA, but they're attempts to discredit or attack what they don't like. They also tried the tired "REAL MEN can handle a move with a girl lead" or whatever.

The NYT, WSP, WSJ, CNN, etc are all bleeding readers and viewers and their extinction is nigh.

I saw the film last night. I’m a big Mad Max fan, I loved Mad Max 1 & 2 and I hated 3.

The film is actually very entertaining, but Max isn’t the star of the film. Charlize Theron’s character (Imperator Furiosa) is. Max is basically a supporting character.

• Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron have equal billing at the start of the film
• Charlize Theron is driving most of the time
• There’s a scene where they have the opportunity to make Max look like a badass. He’s asked to go and get some supplies from some guys in another vehicle. Instead of seeing him kicking the shit out of some other guys, we see him walk off into the distance and then come back covered in their blood.
• Near the end of the film there’s a scene where the man bad guy’s son Rictus (a huge built fucker) gets into a fight with a woman in her 50s. This fight lasts more than a few seconds, which is total bullshit
• Charlize Theron ends up killing Immortan Joe (the main bad guy) - Max gets nowhere near him.
  

I bet if the same film was made without “Mad Max” in the title, it wouldn’t do as well at the box office.

I didn't think I would enjoy the movie after skimming the thread, but I did.

The plot is driven by Charlize Theron's attempt to liberate the wives of Immortan Joe, the warlord who controls the water in the desert, and Max becomes an accomplice out of self-interest.

I didn't find the movie to be overly blue pill or pro-feminist. There's lots of redpill facets, for example, one the wives repeatedly tries to abort the escape and return to Immortan Joe when things get hairy.

It's an era where resources are so scare, people kill or capture anyone or anything to survive. This includes sex and reproduction, which the warlord monopolizes, and the women want to escape from. "Human behaviors change, human nature does not."
