Captain Capitalism - When the good men retire from the game
From: http://captaincapitalism.blogspot.com/20...-game.html

Quote:"So, any word from the girly girl front?"

And all he said was, "No, I have absolutely no energy for that. I just want to pay the mortgage and go hunting."

And that was it. That was the summation of his past year of dating life. "No, I don't have the energy."

It wasn't an editorial comment. It wasn't one of "I tried, but dem womenz be crazies." It had no passion or emotion in it. It was merely a statement of fact:

"No, I don't have the energy for it."

And though I had intuitively known this for a while, it was once again one of those things that had yet to make its way to the frontal lobes, turning itself into a concrete observation.

Men do burn out.

I had speculated about this before. A theory about whether men have "unlimited energy" when it comes to the pursuit of women, or if there's a finite amount of energy and men will inevitably stop their pursuit. And though speculate I did a few short years ago, in that time I've gained the experience, observation, and wisdom to realize the later is true. Men only have a limited amount of energy. And my friend Craig was proof of it.

Of course, while the fact men do burn out had consequences for my friend Craig, they also have consequences for women in his market. For while Craig was sitting at home in his PJ's, sipping away at tea, preparing for a speech he had to give the next day at 8PM, it also, by necessary default, meant he wasn't at the bar or the club or online trying to pine for the affections of women. He wasn't asking women out. There was one less man on the market. And one of those proverbial "good men" women are always looking for.

This made for an interesting juxtaposition, for while Craig was sitting there, comfy in his plaid PJ's and old man slippers, he conveyed to me the story of when he last went out socially. He met up with some old high school buddies of his, mostly of the female persuasion. They were all in their mid 40's, but while he was focused on work, his career, and various professional associations he joined, the women were all divorced, all had their children at the baby sitters and were living it up like they were 24 again. Boozing, drinking "woooing." He said, "I just don't get it. I did that shit when I was 24. It's the last thing I'd want to do now! And here they are thinking it's fun or something." He didn't leave in disgust, but because of boredom and having "been there done that."

However, the utter lack of anything genuine or intellectually stimulating ultimately led him to the observation and an explanation why he stayed in and had no incentive to even try to go out to date:

The amount of investment required to be successful in dating was not worth what he'd get in return. And that is why this "Good Man" ™ was at home with his tea, instead of out there looking in the dating market. It is also why many 40+ women "can't find a good man."

(Note: The original article is much longer than the quoted section above, so click on the link to read the entire article).

I've thought about this a lot lately since I'm starting to lose interest in staying out late drinking, sleeping late, and feeling horrible the next morning if you overdue it. There's definitely an opportunity cost to that type of behavior as you get older that takes away from the more productive areas of life. Even taking women out of the equation, I think we all eventually get to the point where that type of behavior becomes an old, tired routine and burns you out.

I'll never understand the people who constantly get retarded and engage in the "woooing" he speaks of. I guess can some people can just let themselves go and not care more easily than others.

Its alot of work to get everything squared away and go pussy hunting. Vacation or business trips are prime time though! All logistics are right and you just need a bar full of foreign chicks. Win!

RE: Captain Capitalism - When the good men retire from the game
I get a real chuckle out of all this "burn out" rhetoric. It is, paradoxically, such a masculine trope.

Because men realize that they must work with stubborn objects like metal or nanoparticles or numbers or pussy throughout their lives -- that this is their destiny -- they have a deep longing to give up, to declare a permanent holiday, to claim themselves to be "burned out". As soon as men are past their most immediate youth, they are hungry to consider themselves "old". It's laughable, but also profound and endearing.

There is a great desire in men for laxity, for the prerogative of the old to just kick back in those "PJs". And in some Mediterranean cultures, civilizations that really are old, this is a real and serious thing. But in the fanatically young and energetic American culture -- which remains absolutely dominant for that reason -- it is just so much wishful thinking. That is also why the deepest and funniest Hollywood trope is contained in the phrase that used to be a sacred necessity in any real cop or action movie:

"I'm getting too old for this shit"

After which, of course, the guy still has to go out and kick ass one last time before the supposedly longed for retirement, and despite all the supposed disgust with the job at hand.

In short, as much as "Craig" might like to brag about his "burnout", I would not be surprised to see him go once more into the breach to "woo" those lovely ladies in their 40s and find that special someone -- for better or worse as the case may be, LOL.

same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

My plan is to make so much money by the time I'm 45, that I can hire a man with game and make him looking like me with plastic surgery.

He'll do the hunting and I'll just sleep with them women after he leaves them with the with weak knees and sopping wet panties.

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

Guys with no game burnout because they get no pussy.

Guys with bad game burnout because they get problem pussy.

Guys with good game burnout because pussy became easy.

The solution is to not let your life revolve around pussy. Investing your energy into more productive pursuits will perpetuate more energy for other meaningful. Getting laid should be no more than a side task that takes very little time in your day.

Getting pussy will and probably should be hard work in your twenties. But as you head towards and enter your forties, you should have already done the leg work to create passive pussy streams that do that work for you.

At that age, I'll seriously hire a club promoter and have him invite bootlilicious babes to my penthouse once a month for a pool party (swimwear optional) and my penis will live off the pussy dividends.

I slayed an unhealthy amount of pussy in my 20's. Most of it was 'passive' through work, social circles, friends' sisters, classmates, 1 distant cousin, ect. If you aren't getting laid now, then it may not happen 20 years later.

It's like the old man strength I was talking about on another thread. It just won't magically appear after a few months of work. Girls will know you went without much pussy for years and they'll dry up. Don't ask me how they do it.

Way to show your Southern pride. Fucking your distant cousin.

Well done sir.

...and guys in their mid-forties don't so much burn out as run away screaming when they see what the female market in their age bracket is like. Gaming is tons of fun when you're 25 and can number close women from 18-38. It's not so good two decades later.

This made for an interesting juxtaposition, for while Craig was sitting there, comfy in his plaid PJ's and old man slippers, he conveyed to me the story of when he last went out socially. Warned you all about this many times. Men grow up; women grow old. I coined it before it became commonplace at ROK.

I just mentioned the other day that women my age reminded me of the '80s horror flick "American Gothic," where these backwards farmers kept their middle aged kids behaving like...actual kids. They grew old but didn't grow up. This is not attractive, hence them putting it in a horror film.

So, I was right. What do I win? Sadly, the prize is no longer a hot 18-year-old who works at a clothing shop at the mall, it seems. And lemme tell y'all that was a prize.

A guy that has set up his life early on should be coasting in the dating market in his 40's. There's plenty of us on the forum that have done so. I don't chase girls my own age, but I know plenty of them that age that are dating material. We see a 40 chick, or MILF's, out letting loose and assume she does it all the time. Many of them rarely get out of the house and are trying to make up for lost time. I can't fault them for that.

Disagree. Some men grow old. If you don't take care of yourself physically, emotionally, and financially from the gate, you'll fizzle out fast. Men can't fight an uphill battle their whole lives. The worst case scenario is men who have worked hard for 20 years to support a gold-digger, who leaves them. Many men ~40 y.o. don't recover. Those women, however, remain desirable through their 40's due to being 'kept' all those years.

But yes, women do grow old. Menopause is a bitch.

Meh, I call bullshit.

I rarely stay out past midnight, I hardly drink, night game doesn't interest me much anymore. I readily acknowledge that I don't have the energy to do it. But this isn't a man's only option.

I enjoy waking up at 8AM and going straight to the gym (like today)

You don't have to put yourself "out there" to chase pussy.

I enjoy going out for a cup of coffee, or shopping at Trader Joes or Whole Foods. I would do these things whether or not there were women there. But guess what? Very often there are women there, and if they're attractive, I approach them.

Yeah your notch acquisition rate will slow down, but as you get older you're more concerned with quality over quantity anyway. But saying you "don't have the energy" is a major cop-out. It takes zero energy to talk to women, and the notion of a man turning off this part of himself is a defeat in my eyes.

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

I think the interesting part of that concept is that the protagonist is too old for this shit and not necessarily old in age. This really points to a feeling of burnout or lost interest in an activity after numerous repetitions or something that is no longer relevant rather than a physical aging out of an activity. When were teenagers, raiding your parents liquor cabinet might seem cool, but when you're 35 you're probably too old for that shit.

This is more of a recognition that maybe a transition to a new career, a vacation, or a different way of spending your free time is in order. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it's how you progress through different stages of your life and avoid getting stuck in a rut.
