Overheard the other day from one never-been-married female acquaintance of mine to another:

"Well, I don't plan on really settling down with a guy for another four or five years, probably."

She's 34.

You know what? She might just be successful.

You may be right. It's kind of frightening and makes me want to run away screaming.

The woman in question actually looks very much like the one in the picture in the link, haha.

Not this one, no. Not all Jewish women are like the weirdo in that story - I've dated/been friends with a couple and found, at least in the small sample I'm familiar with, that they're intelligent, funny, and actually a lot more realistic about things than some of their gentile counterparts. They were from the West Coast though so that may factor in. I don't think I'd get along with the high-strung neurotic New York type in the slightest.

It's possible to do I'm sure, but not with the successful handsome indie musician/rockstar world traveler they're holding out for.

RE: Delusion
One of my female FB friends posted this pile of shit:

http://thebolde.com/12-reasons-youre-sin...ure-catch/

And I got nothing but white knight bullshit and pushback from her and her friends by calling it a piece of shit. Side note I googled the author and she's a fat piece of shit who is 35.

Quote:You’d make a great girlfriend and you know it. Your friends are always telling you that you’re the best thing coming down the street, and yet these same friends always wonder why the hell you’re still single – a question you’ve asked yourself plenty of times. While I don’t have to tell you that being single is awesome – because it is – there’s still always that tiny voice in the back of every woman’s mind that whispers, “I’m awesome. Why can’t men see that?” Well, here’s the deal: It’s hard to be a catch and land a man. Here’s why.

1. You don’t believe in settling. You know what type of people settle? The ones who think they’re running out of time to find something real and those who think true love isn’t in the cards for them. However, that’s not the case for you. You know he’s out there and you’re not settling for anything less.

2. You’re waiting to meet someone worthy of your awesomeness. You’re amazing, so why would you even bother being with someone who doesn’t equal you in that? I mean, seriously. It’ll totally be worth the wait.

3. You don’t need a man to validate your existence. You might think it’d be nice to have a partner in crime some times, but you certianly don’t spend all your time pining after a guy – and you don’t feel bad about it, either. Instead, you live your life and don’t let it revolve around finding someone.

4. You’re too busy living your life. You have trips to take, people to meet, projects to tackle, and you have a goal to go to 30 countries before you turn 30. Your schedule is pretty damn packed.

5. You’re focused on your career. It may sound like some sort of copout or a cliché, but this is 2015. What woman isn’t focused on her career to some degree? You love what you do and you’re good at it. That’s worth being proud of, for sure.

6. You’ve got great friends to distract you from romance. Once you get a boyfriend, the time you spend with your friends is immediately cut in half. Boyfriends are great and all, but friends are a whole other level of great.

7. Guys aren’t as into commitment as they once were. We live in a culture where hooking up seems to take precedence over serious relationships. While hooking up is fun and one-night stands are a blast, it’s hard to find commitment in a sea of men who just aren’t into it. In this particular case, your singleness is totally out of your control.

8. Your confidence is really intimidating. It’s true! Even the cockiest of men will second guess themselves before even daring to approach a woman of your caliber.

9. You need to focus on you first. Before you can share your life with someone else, you first need to know who you are, what you want, and in what direction you’re headed. It’s not fair to offer only half of yourself to someone when you’re still not completely whole.

10. You don’t really have time to meet people. You didn’t even have time to eat lunch today, let alone set up an online dating profile. In fact, you’re not even sure you have time to swipe more than once or twice on Tinder.

11. You’re too in love with single life. When your life is perfect already, it’s hard to want to bring someone else into the mix. While you may want a boyfriend, there’s the fact that having one will change the life you’ve made for yourself. There’s nothing wrong with change, but it’s also something you need to do on your own time.

12. You’re not ready. So why push something you’re not 100% about it yet?

Sad too, but it explains why this girl I know posted it, cause she's 27 and not even dating anyone right now.

Does the look like a half deflated balloon? Otherwise this could still be possible. As others have said 'the thirst'.

I'll again reference Kevin Federline, super pimp, here. I will also reference the washed up pro athlete that 'won' the last bachelorette.

In our time, if a bitch is 39, single, making 'career' money, and in ownership of a car and a house. She can actually do ok in landing a man. She is miles above the woman of an equal age, that is divorced, with kids and riding on spousal or government supports in terms of being a suitable partner.

In our modern times, men can be the gold digging trophy wife as well...as least for a short time.

This bitch will get married, but not in any permanent sense, she will also get divorced.

I wonder to whom. It is painfully obvious in my experience their you-go-girl-ism and false apathy is a thin veil for very deep seated bitterness. Some never-married women my age range whom I have been nothing but friendly and polite to will not hesitate to say the most absurd, nasty things behind my back when they realize I'm not particularly interested in dating in their demographic. Conversely, women I know who are married, or have been married at least once, are often very cool and decent people. I pity the future victim of the former; frankly anyone who posts a list of bullet points such as the one above and believes them probably suffers from pathological narcissism.

So very, very angry.

RE: Delusion
Many women have a serious problem in that they cannot make up their mind. It is now taboo to force them into something good for them which is how it was done in the past.

RE: Delusion
Having divorced a few years back and hit the dating market in my forties, I've figured out this much.

Divorced woman = perhaps bitter, but generally normal.

Eternally single woman = a 12-year-old in the body of a grown woman.

Has anyone ever seen the 1988 horror film "American Gothic?" (Full movie here.) In it, there's a backwoods family where the parents didn't let their middle-aged offspring grow up, so they act like kids even though they're pushing 50. It's pretty disturbing.

But this is what the eternally-single female crowd reminds me of. I know women in this age-bracket that follow local bands around like groupies seeing every show every weekend, spending themselves into poverty. I know one who builds dollhouses. Another collects pets to the point of insanity. Another was gorgeous but gradually got so covered in tattoos (including one of those hideous upper-chest pieces) that she's now hard to look at. Still another only goes for the same type bad boys over and over and can't understand why she's single and barren at 38.

I don't even have my usual quip to conclude this tirade. I'm too depressed thinking about how Ms. Upper-Chest Tattoo was a 9 in 2009 but a 3 today.

Those angry, bitter, two faced broads seem to be marrying guys their age, or sometimes a bit younger that also want to put up some sort of two faced facade. I don't know if they cackle about other people together in bed at night but its like a two faced match made in heaven....until one cheats on the other. Physically these chicks are usually still attractive at 40 but just have a poisonous personality.

Obese cat ladies at 40 don't get married. They missed the boat at marrying a guy who had never touched a pussy when she was 21. These are your writer/novel reader/justifying their existence types.

The chicks that have been married once, divorced at say 35, and also laid back with a cool vibe tend to be so because they are humble...or have been humbled. I have known 2 or 3 and they tend to be the 'at fault' party in the divorce. I love these women in the same way I love strippers. They are zero bullshit, say it like it is, students of life...like a guy friend with tits. This is also why I tend not to be attracted to them. They are so down to earth they friend zone themselves...I never see them as 'marriage material'
