This week, in attention whoring: a busty little minx named Poppy contacted the police to complain about evil misogynist building site workers who were wolf-whistling at her.

She claims she doesn't want attention, so did what any shy recluse would do and ran to the media to tell her sad story.

So far, so deranged feminist look-at-me-ism, right?

But, in a rare and hilarious twist, the men are unrepentant.

I don't throw the word "hero" around lightly, but the gentleman quoted below may be the greatest hero Britain has ever seen.

Miss Smart, a marketing co-ordinator, contacted West Mercia Police over the regular taunts and the force went to the building site in Worcester to warn the men about their conduct.

She also filmed the whistles and handed the evidence to officers, who followed up Poppy's complaint but had not taken further action, the force said.

Mr Merrett said: 'It's highly likely it was me who did that wolf-whistle. I've seen the news coverage and it's not right.

'Wolf-whistling is part and parcel of working on a site, it's complimenting a girl. I'm a builder and my mates are builders. We are all hard working people and our reputation has been damaged'

Earlier this week, Miss Smart condemned men who wolf-whistle, claiming it was demeaning and compared it to racism.

The above argument comes from feminism's "the personal is political" idea and is bullshit. The reason is that we're sexual people and most of us are flirted with at times. Feminists can't understand this. My mother also didn't care that when I got my first job, women twice my age were being sexually aggressive with me.

I'd be pissed if someone had grabbed my mother. But the wolf whistles, if anything, seemed to beef up her confidence. Women who complain like the one in this story are attention-whoring malcontents. When men stop looking, they'll call them "shallow" and complain about that too.

I work on sites in the UK across different sectors. If you get a white knight superior on site and he actually see's you wolf whistling he has the authority to sack you on the spot for harassment of the public.

The only reason it doesn't happen that often is these types are usually in the office or off-site or scared shitless about the reaction from the other workers.

Once my friends started hitting puberty, I heard a lot of comments about people wanting to fuck my mom. To this day I'm bad at judging women's ages because my mom looks 15 years younger than she is. Or more likely considering women today, my mom just took care of herself so she didn't age prematurely.

By the age of 16, I was saying, "If you think you're good enough for her, go for it."

I hope if I ever have a daughter, she's worthy of being whistled at. Life is hard for ugly women. The men are signaling to her that she could wrap them around her finger if she had any wits.

I'm in the same boat except my friends still say it. Honestly though, she's nearly 60 and still hasn't hit a wall but maybe I'm biased.

But what if women had to be up front about their rejections and had to face consequences for leading a guy on or friend-zoning? I think it's only fair that since men are being charged with harassment for even whistling at women that moving forward:
If a man meets a woman and within the first week she doesn't tell him to his face (verbatim), "I'm not sexually attracted to you" and continues to accept romantic gestures like gifts, dinners, drinks, even door opening, then she should be liable for reverse harassment.
This includes being terminated from her place of employment if they're co-workers.
