I'm looking to take up a new hobby that involves interacting with other people, but most of the things I want to do I either can't, due to other commitments, or I tend not to like the people who do them (for example, I love Warhammer 40K, but the type of people into tabletops/card games etc irk me).

What do you guys do?

Hiking, photography, writing music, salsa dancing, languages, yoga.

Get into learning an instrument! Growing up, I learned how to play the piano, guitar, and drums. It's been years since I've picked up either three; admittedly, drums were my favorite even though I spent years going to guitar teachers. I need to buy a drum set sometime when I have the space and get back into it.

I was never even that good, but some day I want to be "Tom Sawyer" good!

I'm a Big lover of the natural sciences, Soccer, Cricket (I don't get to play much now)... And I generally love things to do with self improvement and personal productivity.

I would say biking and cycling. Fun and fairly easy to meet with like minded people.

When people ask me what my hobbies are, I always say I don't have any.

Which is odd, because I spend more time working out and reading than I do actually working in my business.

My brain always thinks of things like stamp collecting as hobbies.

I guess my hobbies would be riding motorcycles, playing the ukulele, sailing is a new hobby I just took up.

Though some hobbies are very solo activities in terms of doing the hobby there's meetup groups for everything. If your into training your dog there's groups to meetup with others. If your into athletics intermural activities.

I find people enjoy sharing hteir hobbies and passions with others so even if you don't have experienc in a hobby your interested in people tend to be pretty welcoming and helpful.

Just for example I wanted to get into sailing but didn't have a boat and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars a weekend on lessons. I posted an ad on craigslist I was looking to get into sailing. I had 3-4 respones within a few days. I had a couple guys offer to take me out on their boat and help them sail it from Michigan where they store it in the winter to Chicago. They'd teach me along the way. They needed some help and also enjoyed sharing their passion and interst with osmeone else. I went out a few times last year and at the end of the year wound up buying a small little sailboat I can take out myself and learn on.

Oh man, I can relate to this. I love playing strategic games but it seems like a hobby exclusively populated with mouth-breathing slobs.

I still keep all my Ultramarines figurines in a display case in my room. It surprises girls sometimes because they never think I'm that type of guy.

Nowadays I dance and do martial arts. Much more social and conducive to getting pussies, but WH40k still has a sacred place in my heart.

The painting aspect of the hobby is extremely purifying.

If it is for social purposes with other guys, I would suggest golf for summer and paddle tennis in the winter. Playing poker can be fun but not as interactive. Hobbies that feed your mission / goals is great as well. If you are single, spend much more of your time gaming women. Try salsa dancing, women love it and works great picking up women.

You could join a martial arts gym (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/Muay Thai). I've met a few guys that are not absolute pussies since I started at one a few months ago. It's difficult to find those type of guys but a gym would be one of your best bets.

Yeah I've toyed with the idea of doing mma for a while, but I play American Football and lift 3 times a week. It would be too much for me to add MMA on top of that.

Yeah I also love Magic the Gathering, but "nerds" make me feel sick to my stomach.
