I occasionally will mention a correction offhand. However, it's an indicator of what kind of person she is if she can't spell.

Correcting people in general is usually a waste of time. If she can't speak or write, just count that in among other factors and decide to add her to the harem or just fuck her for the night.

Either way, if you correct spelling, do it humorously

Unless you have a particular game plan with that, I wouldn't do it. They can feel insulted, and if they do, say goodbye to that bang. However, after the bang, if people mixing up "your" and "you're" is a pet peeve for you (it is for me), feel free to correct her. But never before the bang.

Anecdotal: I've corrected before the bang. Great way to knock a bitch off her pedestal. Especially in a group. If you play the 'act like a grown up' card you turn a prancing flake-in-the-making into a self-conscious, puppy-eyed girl.

I was at a bar and a barely 21 hb8 with a train of beta followers walked over. After I deflected buying her a drink, she started to follow me around. At one point we were talking to her friends outside (one was a tiara-sporting munchkin) and I caught her on a misused 'you and I' comment. I said something along the lines of 'I thought you were in college' with a smirk. Not a minute later she told her friends to go ahead to the next place, she was fine right here.

Sadly, I ended up getting blocked by tiara girl.

I just don't see any problem with being a bit of a dick, they seem to like it.

This is more relevant to the "girls who talk like guys" thread (a common problem these days), but since grammar involves gender, this reminds me how one time a girl apologized to me for "being a dick."

If I had the proper presence of mind, I would have/should have said, "well, seeing as you're a female, I don't really think you can be a 'dick'. I'm sure there's a better word for it."

Technique wise it can go either way.

What's more important is the mentality behind it.

If you're scared that you might lose a girl because she said "Irregardless", or sent a text with a dangling participle - don't do it. I'm not saying you need to be conforming your behavior and entirely edit yourself so that you are the guy that you think she wants - but why needlessly antagonize a chick? Plenty of newbs love to do that type of thing. Correct grammar/spelling/syntax/usage. Tell her about the game. Spout of some red pill or non-politically correct nonsense.

Why? Why would you go out of your way to alienate someone?

But, If you don't care about a chick one way or another, do what you feel.
If she stays, she stays. She'll learn something from you.
If she gets offended, she'll leave - and you'll learn something about her.

When you're doing things for a particular effect, you have to be careful about what you say and what you deliver.

American girls eat this type of sarcasm up. It also works in other countries when dealing with language barrier, but then the teasing has to be made really obvious if it's not a place where sarcasm is understood.

I only correct a girl's grammar if she is a non-native speaker of English and is trying to be speak or write it better. Usually they request it (though one can still go overboard).

I often encourage girls to correct my own grammar when speaking their native languages (Spanish/Russian/German).

Dont never correct there grammar.

I had a girl one time whom were terrible at forming sentences that didnt make any sense and I could never tell where her thoughts ended at. Her friend, who was also bad at grammar, was a solid 8.

For real tho, read The Elements of Style by Strunk and White. Utilize what you learn, but don't correct people unless they ask, or it's to add value to a conversation (in a group for laughs, for instance).

Good luck writing without breaking any of the rules in that book, as succinct as it may be. (you can get the book free on pdf)

By the way, some girls take grammar and spelling REALLY seriously.

A girl I'm seeing told me about how she stopped dating a guy because of the poor grammar in his texts. Grammar was a dealbreaker for her.

I asked what was the big deal about bad grammar and she said it reflected badly on him as a person, his status, his education, etc.

I suspect this is more of a thing with college girls than working girls.

It seems silly at first, but then again no more silly than judging a guy by his shoes or his watch. All signs of status, and the details count (at least for this type of girl).

Sure it's not a hail Mary or something I wait for haha. I'm not suggesting anyone go work this into their "routine."

But yeah, it's probably a cultural difference - a lot of Americans do find that Brits can be prickly about certain jokes, so I think we just differ in what we find funny.

And of course I wouldn't heckle someone who was obviously just illiterate. This isn't about looking down on someone. But if an otherwise intelligent person, mainly one I'm flirting with and especially a college-educated one, makes a silly error, in text or while talking, a dry correction is very funny, given that your delivery makes it obvious. And it's not elitist because you're more making fun of the idea that anyone would do such a thing.

I do tend to clown on girls a lot though, kind of like you would a little sister. I've been with my current girl for nearly a year and still constantly pick on her.

Also when I mentioned doing this in countries where there is a language barrier, I mostly meant Southeast Asia. I've spent so much time here that I sometimes make blanket statements about being abroad when saying "in Southeast Asia" would be far more accurate.

The culture here makes it a very good thing to do as it's very typical for everyone to harp on each other for something like this. Kind of like they always tell you you're fat for a very minimal weight gain or point out other flaws. I wouldn't be as hard core as they are about it but a little bit of teasing goes a long way.
