A contemporary band that doesn't suck: Reign of Kindo
When I was living in my car in Temecula, California and working at a winery I met this dude who worked at Starbucks.

He was a musician, super cool guy, and he kept telling me to check out this band "Reign of Kindo".

So later on when I was no longer a bum I checked them out and they BLEW.ME.AWAY.

They are definitely good. I would say they are contemporary, but having more of a progressive edge.

That being said, they do not have a 'pop' sound or not a sound that will, unfortunately for them, grant them massive success relative to their talent.
