I don't think these signs are legal to have screwed in place on public property. It's also a potential distraction with regards to legitimate traffic signs. I hope they get sued or fined in some way.

I know I'm stating the obvious here, but this whole anti catcalling feminist propaganda just seems so goofy and backwards to me since feminists are literally the last type of women that would be catcalled at and women who are catcalled 99% of the time feel good because of it. And are not feminists.

I bet most of the women putting up these signs only put them in low-crime neighborhoods, where cat-calling doesn't usually happen. If the signs were put up in lower-income, ethnic neighborhoods, I bet these feminists invited men along with them to protect them while putting up the signs.

I live in Philadelphia, i have yet to see a sign. No one is going to enforce this in my city, NY, not so sure.

These signs are actually a violation of the Constitution. Neither police or anyone from government could legally enforce a "no catcalling" law.

First, it's a violation of the first amendment (...the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law...abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble...).

It might also violate the "freedom of association" tenant in the Constitution.

But also, if such an ordinance were to be enforced, it could also be used to suppress the "catcalling" of protesters, such as the ones who yell out to strangers during feminist pro-abortion rallies and the Occupy Wall Street crowd.

It could also be used to justify cabs not stopping to give rides to black men. A cabbie could argue in court that the man's yelling to hail a cab came off as "harassment."

If they decide to charge catcallers with disturbing the peace, well, they could also charge vocal street vendors with that, as well as (get ready!) newspaper and TV reporters who accost people for man-on-the-street interviews. What would happen then?

And this is why the feminist left is tyrannical. They'd scream if one of their protests was shut down, but have no problem clamping down on the freedoms of others. They don't get how these laws can be turned around and used against them or anyone. This is a Third World mentality that seems part-and-parcel of feminism. They want Big Daddy Dictator to control the people, not the people themselves. They don't see ripple effects, but only care how it affects "me me me" "now now now."

Do I want my mother to get catcalled, as feminists would ask? No, but I don't want her to be argued with by strangers and store clerks -- and those things remain legal. Nor do I want her to be bothered by Jehovah's Witnesses or smelly homeless men begging for money. And I don't like it when vendors at the ballpark try and guilt her into buying expensive sports memorabilia crap.

But in a free society, there are just some unpleasant things you have to deal with.

Finally, they're making a symphony out of a folk song with this whole campaign. While street harassment happens, it's not nearly as tragic as the citizen-on-citizen violence that goes on in our cities. How about making that a priority?

Addendum: It's not a coincidence this brand of fascism comes to us from a corporate sponsor. And, as others pointed out on the "Brutal Rape at UVA" threas, it should be no surprise milennials are right there bowing down to their corporate masters, not asking "Who are YOU to tell anyone who they can and can't talk to?"
