I'm wondering what your experiences or thoughts are about Fake ID's for those like myself under the age of 21 (Yes American Drinking laws are absurd). I am a native of California and although I do not live there now I will be moving back, I am a college student. I plan on getting an out of state ID which, in theory, will be tough for convince/liquor store checkers and bouncers to spot a fake. Thoughts, experiences, advise, on using out of state fakes?

Why don't you go to Peru then you can drink and probably get into the clubs there too.

I never had a fake ID, but as a former student, I can say that at a school where there is a sufficient and open party or fraternity scene, one won't need a fake. If you see younger people with fake ID's then there's probably a serious issue with the nightlife in a town. At the same time, the smaller the town, the more useful a fake will be (since there tends to be less stringency).


If you do get a fake, though, just be sure to be aware of which states tend to be easier to deal with. I went to school in New York but no one ever used that state because it was so difficult for the "companies" to doctor.

I went to war when I was 19, then came home and couldn't even have a beer. So I know the pain, but young dumb college kids dont really need booze lol. In other countries you don't really have the raging frat cultures, so they're able to relax their drinking laws.
