I know ESPN went full tilt social justice a long time ago, but I laughed my ass off when I saw their college dunk contest had a female judge.

Thats like walking up to a member of the public, playing a tune and then lambasting them for an opinion. If she can judge a slam dunk then I don't see how being a woman has anything to do with it. She can play the sport better than I can.

From what I can see is that they picked representatives from Indiana sports teams (besides Jay Williams but he's an ESPN employee) since that is where the Final Four is being held. Due to the Indiana Pacers still being in season trying to make the playoffs, it makes since to have at least one current basketball player representing an Indiana sports team. Personally I don't have a problem with it.

Why should we be outraged by this? She IS a basketball player, she's qualified enough. It's like Lindy West judging a pie eating contest.

What's more salient to me is why is Denny's hosting a slam dunk contest contest? Are they trying to attract Black patrons to recoup the millions they paid out in discrimination lawsuits in the '90's?

Sometimes when I see threads like these from newer members, it comes off a bit try hard.

I can understand wanting to share relevant, interesting, or amusing news, but don't be in such a rush to feel like you need to contribute something that you'll create a knee jerk reaction post to the smallest things.

I'm not hating, since looking back, I created a few threads that got some laughs but weren't particularly insightful.

Just remember that less frequent posters get just as much respect as the daily posters, as long as they're focused on quality. A little reminder that the EE forum needs from time to time.
