The Colombia gringo community is indeed small, and if this guy is over there pulling shit like this regularly it won't be very long before he ends up...not well.

The gringos who have been in Colombia for years went there when shit wasn't so nice, they aren't pussies. When I started going to Colombia in the mid 2000's it was just then starting to slowly become a more popular destination. The guys I met are a different breed, ex military, pioneers, adventurous entrepreneurs... great guys. Guys that don't put up with bullshit like this. There still are guys like that going to Colombia, many of them in this thread. Unfortunately there are many more who are not.

I remember when I first met a couple of them one guy casually starts talking about my brothers' tattoos (who was 3000 miles away), specifics about my military experience, which would definitely not be easy to find through normal means for a couple reasons. All he had was my email address, not even my full name. He gives me a hearty slap on the back and says "We just like to know who we're dealing with. You're good". Another time there was a guy talking shit, making veiled threats on the Colombia forum we were on, rubbing people the wrong way. This guy arrives in Medellin, and the guy I mentioned above already knows what hotel he's staying at, slips some cash to the reception lady and gets his passport. Turns out the big talker is a DSS agent. The two meet and have a discussion regarding the guys internet posturing. He leaves a few days later.

As things have grown in Colombia a lot more guys come they don't always get to meet the OG gringos, but those guys still help keep shit in check. They moved there to live their personal paradise, a lot of times after hard lives, they don't take kindly to people trying to interfere with that. Nor should they.

Linux, if this guy is in Medellin by chance I'd be glad to pass along his info. He won't stick around.

This has been my experience as well. I've never been big on meeting other foreigners in other countries, mostly because most of those guys aren't like the guys who post here and could seriously bring me down. The guys who I met who were living in Colombia and have been there for a long time are much like GlobalMan described. A place being unsafe scares away a lot of the bad element. Colombia still isn't the safest place, but it was much worse in the 80s and 90s.

Out of paranoia, over time on here I've written less often and with less detail about girls I've been fond of (and in exchange, more on girls I've been not-so-fond-of), and ceased posting photos altogether--just in case word gets back to them somehow. I hate to see this paranoia confirmed.

If you are going to post photos I think its best to remove them after a few days to stop someone randomly coming across the thread weeks later. Thats really messed up linux.. hopefully you can repair the damage thats been done with her.

This is a good example of how we should always be aware of the risks involved with disclosing our real identities. There is a big difference between meeting repped members and members that have been repped because of multiple successful in-person meetings.

If LINUX had been applying to work at a company, and mentioned it to this same member, it could've ended up the same way.

Just imagine showing up for an interview and instead of your resume sitting on the employers' table there's a picture of the 30 naked girls you banged in Colombia.

- No wants to post specific info if its going to be used against them
- People a less likely to meet lower post members
- People a less likely to share with fellow members
- People not as likely to invite forum members into their social circles and to meet the girls they already know in different countries.

I really hope he gets caught.

I agree with this post and was thinking the same. I understand that considering the (low) fees we pay anually to be members it's in the interest of Roosh tp maximize the numbers of members, on the other hand if this forum becomes mainstream its added value might drop and most probably shits like that will happen more and more.

I think Roosh can think about a way to keep some threads private and only accessible to repped members (I'm not one yet), that would avoid these problems or at least allow to identify the rats with ease hence they would think about it twice before behaving like that.

Call me a lone wolf, but I think beyond gathering information from another member, the work to get laid should be done on your own. I'm more of a Christopher Columbus. I have been on the flip side of that coin. I think it's my hair, the Uncle Jesse makes the other guy always want to win.

Another point is specific info is always a bad idea. When I was in the Philippines and DR, not one time did it pass through my mind to meet a fellow foreigner. If I saw a fellow American or foreigner, I would adjust my route to avoid them. In Colombia it is harder to get laid, creating more free time and everyone I have met here is cool. Just my two cents, which is usually meaningless.

- adventures and nights out
- details on specific bars and frequented places

That'd be better done through the rep system. You can post anything, but only certain posts will generate rep via the communities interest and value system. "Peer review" so to speak.

MyBB does allow hidden forums, accessible to groups with certain metrics, but I'm guessing Roosh doesn't consider exclusivity or "separate classes" to be conducive to the community he wants to maintain.

I've had something similar happen to me on facebook. A guy took a picture off of my facebook which I was tagged in before I saw it and sent it to my gf via email. It was me with another girl. My girlfriend new about the photo before I did and needless to say she wasn't happy... Especially when she found out I had dated the other girl for 8 months as the person who emailed my gf messaged the girl who tagged me on facebook and asked about us.

That's a bummer. Facebook can be dangerous like that. I've had girls post pictures without authorization that completely screwed me over. I still have some pics floating around there that could screw me, but very slim chances. My Dominican gf shattered glasses on my floor one time, but it kind of turned me on. I don't let people take my picture anymore.

Its a damn shame something like this happened. So far ever country I have visited I have had a solid group of forum members around and it really makes traveling sooo much better. Always have a wing or a bro to shot the shit with ect.... An the Colombia crew was one of the best and we all lived in the same building. It was a experience I will never forget. An LINUX is a good dude, one of the most genuine people I have came across.... and for someone to throw him under the bus for a girl in Colombia?? Colombia is FILLED with hot women?? Why in the fuck would you have to try to whiteknight for this one?

Any ways, I hope he finds out who it was and handles it the way hes sees fit. I also hope he lets us know who it was and they get banned and never come back.

I still don't understand how or why a forum member would do this. Someone just randomly decides to fuck with a valuable contributor to the forum? On top of that, how in the hell would you find out who the girl is and her contact information?

Whole thing is bizarre in my opinion.
