Elizabeth Rachel Dove, 23, faces third-degree assault, recklessly endangering and reckless driving in the Jan. 15 crash. Three teenage girls, all students at Centennial High School in Gresham, were injured in the crash.

Phone records outlined in court documents show that Dove was talking on the phone, texting and driving in the minutes immediately preceding the crash. Video recovered from her phone shows a clip of her infant son in the front passenger seat, which investigators determined that Dove hit the teenagers 1.42 seconds after the video ended.

When the teenagers entered the crosswalk, Dove "appears to have had no hands on the steering wheel," documents said. Police said the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time.

One of the victims, Sarah Hollenbeck, 15, told KGW that the first thing she remembers after the crash is waking up on the pavement with her friends lying on the ground beside her.

"It was really scary because I saw both my friends being covered in a blanket and I thought they were dead," Hollenbeck told the station. She added that the crosswalk is a frequent site of accidents involving pedestrians because drivers drive too fast.

Dove has pleaded not guilty, according to KOIN. Prosecutors told the station that they'll argue the young mother created a substantial risk of injury with her distracted driving.

In Oregon, using a phone while driving is prohibited unless the driver is 18 or older and using a hands-free device.

It is sad the girls got hit.

But I wonder if the girls were mindlessly on their phones also. If they were paying attention, they could see a car with a woman with no hands on the wheel, not stopping. These are not minor visual cues.

I am surprised how often I see people jaywalk or walking down a street and crossing a block that doesn't have a light - not paying attention at all.

I try (key word try - but fail like everyone else) to be situationally aware, I try not to let my safety be in the hands of others. Just like I am not stepping off the sidewalk right away even with a walk sign - so many asshole drivers wanna try and make the right sometimes. Or run the red.

I hope that distracted drivers one day get punished as harshly as drunk drivers, this woman will probably get off easier than a person caught driving after having three beers and getting pulled over for not wearing a seat belt.

Not sure how shes getting a pussy pass? A COP once told me if you hit someone in a marked crosswalk its pretty much a wrap for you, even if the other person wasn't paying attention.

I'm surprised it hasn't already started. Police are always looking for ways to get more money for the state, and I would imagine far more people unsafely use their phones while driving than actually drive under the influence.

What I find ironic, is she, ideally, is trying to capture her baby's childhood moments. The skeptic in me says, she was doing it to attention whore by sending it to everyone.

Now, if justice prevails, she will miss many, many, many of her kid's special life moments.

I see dumb bitches drive through intersections all the time around here. There are a lot of FOB immigrants that I see do it too. I know a handful of people who have been hit by cars here so I am always careful.

She didn't have her hands on the wheel because she had just ended the video and was adjusting her phone's browser to get it immediately loaded to Facebook. That way, the "Likes" could roll in while she finished whatever errand she was on at the time.
