So the gist of the story is, woman makes false rape allegation which was dropped because there was no evidence.

Guy who was accused decides to investigate her and brings a private prosecution for perverting the course of justice.

I got to hand it to the guy....it is something this forum has been saying for years...always keep evidence on text messages, emails etc

But the former Durham University student ended her life on April 4 last year - three days before the trial was due to start - and left a tragic note reading: 'I know how selfish it is but I really feel there is no way out.'

The heartbreaking message also said: 'It's entirely my fault for what has happened and there are many other events which make me make this decision.'

Her family said they were 'astonished' the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) decided to take bipolar sufferer Miss de Freitas to court and lawyers are now demanding answers.

Speaking at an inquest into her death today, her father also spoke of how Eleanor was let down by mental health services and listed examples of her behaving erratically in the days leading up to the trial.

These included driving the wrong way up the A1 until she ran out of petrol.

'She must have gone through something very traumatic...to do what she did', he said.

Miss de Freitas had complained ex-lover Alexander Economou had attacked her before Christmas 2012 - but he was never charged due to a lack of evidence.

Mr Economou, the 35-year-old son of a Greek shipping magnate, then spent thousands bringing a private prosecution against Ms de Freitas.

He assembled an array of evidence including texts and CCTV in an attempt to prove that she had falsified her rape complaint.

The Crown Prosecution Service took over the criminal proceedings, but Ms de Freitas was found dead three days before the start of her trial at Southwark Crown Court.

I'm usually one to come in a thread about a younger person dying and say "I always think its a sad thing when a young person passes" or something a long those lines....

But in this case... she was willing to pretty much end that guys life with her false claim. A eye for eye......

Got to respect the guy for not accepting the accusation and wanting to out her for her lies and deceit...it is exactly what I would do if I was in his postition.

This forum has taught me a lot about keeping text messages, whatsapp message and Tinder conversations to counter attack should this ever happen to me!

In reality this could be a bad thing. I may make it to where you can't press any kind of charges for a false rape claim.... its ok to through men under the bus when women make false claims against them, but we have to protect those precious snowflake women when it comes to holding them accountable for false rape claims.

Not to glorify the suicide or anything but I personally would have no qualms about bringing the house down on someone like that if they attempted to ruin my life and name in that way. Suicide was still her selfish choice. Selfish to the bitter end!

They already make that argument and it's pretty much the situation in America right now.

You can sue in civil court, but criminal charges against lying sloots will probably never happen.

The father was doing the rounds on TV acting like some great injustice had been perpetrated on his special snowflake daughter. Plus, have you all noticed how when a womyn gets called up on her shit they rush to bring out the mental health aspect?

Interesting. I didn't know you could bring a private prosecution. I thought if the state decided not to prosecute then you were SOL in these situations.
