I read an article on that this morning. Kinda surprising, but when you really think about it not really. The forces are always on some level of alert. This might also explain some of the behavior from Obama's camp during those times. If Putin put them on a higher alert I'm sure the US put theirs on higher status very quickly as well. It may come out that this was yet another mini-Cuban missile crisis if the documents are ever made available via the FOIA, in 50 more years.

Putin is one of the few guys to stand up to American hegemony. I wouldn't be surprised if the CIA spiked his drink or hired a Russian doctor to inject him with HIV without his knowledge.

While I am all for alternative opinions, given this forum is a safe space for a multitude of non-politically correct/non-mainstream opinions, at least give us more than a single sentence.

What is the American hegemony? How is Putin standing up to it? How do either of those things relate to this thread?

If you give so little thought to a post that you can't be bothered to type more than one sentence, don't be surprised if people give your post so little thought so as to dismiss it with just one sentence.
