I invite you all to join me on a trip down memory lane...

This won't mean anything to the younger ones. But back in the dial-up days of the internet - internet porn was very different.

It is all a distant memory now - but I would love to share some thoughts. To see if others recall it the way I do.

I am 33. And we didn't get the internet until I was about 17. And we didn't get broadband until I was about 21. These are just rough guesses.

Anyway - for the first few years of internet access - shit was pretty weird. Most of us assumed that slow internet access was just an unavoidable fact of life. Even now - I am still thrilled at the speeds that broadband access enables.

But back then - speeds were so slow that it could take about 40 mins to download a 3 minute clip. And if you had more than one window/tab open - that seemed to slow things down as well.

Indeed - YouTube would never have existed without broadband speeds.

As such - internet porn back then mostly consisted of photos. So jerking off mostly consisted of looking up photos of Brittney Spears.

And if you typed in sexy teen girls into google - it would bring up a lot of pictures of the same few models. The sites they featured on all seemed to be run by a couple of different people.

Phil Flash was one of those early entrepreneurs. And I think Lightspeed University was another company which monopolised this market as well.

I am guessing they made millions from having 'first mover' advantage when it came to the early days of internet porn.

And whilst I use the word - most of this shit was non-nude. And didn't involve sex. Personally - I didn't mind that. And still don't since I really appreciate the beauty of a hot girl in sexy clothes.

I am just wondering if others have similar memories as well? Back then my favourite models were - Jordan Capri, Next Door Nikki, Diddylicious, Kari Sweets and Planet Katie. Fuck they had some weird names back then...

Even now I will look up those pics since they make a nice change from the onslaught of hardcore porn that the internet mostly consists of now.

Just wondering if others still have fond memories from those more innocent times?

Well, there were the bulletin boards, then there were the aol mass mails.
I don't remember models specifically, just where to go to crank one out.

Waiting 10 minutes for a pixelated gif - carefully chosen from a titillating text description - to download from a BBS. I didn't even bother attempting with ultra short video clips and had only had a couple of brief glimpses at "sex in motion" in porn movies before I was 18 (and both started having sex and watching video porn, on VHS tapes).
During the same time and starting a few years earlier, before I got my first modem, it was porn mags, mostly bought from a local second hand book/magazine store with a very comprehensive and secluded porn section (I looked a few years older than I was all the way through my teens, though I still have a hard time believing I could really pass for 18 when I was 14 or 15).

One of the things that interests me about this area is how much money was made back then.
