Holding frame with teenagers
As we all know, game isn't only for doing better with women, it's for improving all aspects of our lives, including our interactions with family, friends, coworkers, strangers, etc. In my experience, most adults are usually fairly reasonable when dealt with using the framing and other social techniques we learn studying game. The individuals that cause me the most trouble with holding or maintaining frame are teenagers.

Teenagers are difficult because they often act out of impulse without thinking of the consequences. They don't fully grasp all the social boundries they need to adhere to, and they don't understand when it is appropriate to bend those boundries and when it isn't. They may challenge you when you try to correct them or escalate the confrontation which can cause additional problems.

So, how do you all handle contrary or teenagers getting in your way when you're about your daily business? I have some techniques that I use, but I'm interested in hearing others' methods first.

RE: Holding frame with teenagers
Be someone they look up to and respect. Don't take them seriously. Show leadership through example.

High school classes ran well where the students thought the teacher was smart and successful in life as I remember. If the teacher was looked up to enough the class would start self-policing the students getting out of line like some uppity clown or drama queen that did not provide the value that the teacher did.

Same with older siblings respected by their younger teenage siblings. Admiration is huge.

Carlos100 do you have a specific situation or recurring series of events that you're running into?
Are you currently in japan or are you in the west?

If you mean teenagers being rowdy and causing trouble:

Be muscular.

Be a silverback.

They shrink away.

I'm currently in Japan, but I often interact with an ex-pat community. Because my kids are teenagers, I often run into teenagers, both Japanese and Western, at school events or in community activities which attract teenagers. I often observe teenagers obstructing thoroughfares, comitting petty vandalism, or being rude to uninvolved teenagers or adults around them.

Japanese teenagers are actually fairly easy to deal with. You just talk them sternly in English or Japanese and 99% of the time they will apologize and stop what they're doing. Western teenagers, especially American girls, are different. They will often respond with a challenge which presents the dilemma, "How far am I willing to take this to make my stand?"

Teenagers crave to be treated as mature and adult-like. Not to be confused with treating them "well." I don't think teenagers (in America) get nearly enough responsibility and could be treated more adult like.

RE: Holding frame with teenagers
If they get in their way just physically push them out of the way.
I do it all the time on public transit.
If they have a problem with you moving them out of your way, stare them directly in the face.
Most of the time they will back down and say some slick shit under their breathe.

While AntiTrace's response made me laugh, I know what you mean. I taught teenagers (everything from kindy-late teens) in Korea, and while I imagine American teens to be worse, there really is nothing in this universe quite like a pack of 2 or 3 bonded, early teenage girls ganging up. Even the little Korean ones could boil your blood faster than most things I can think of.

This is one approach I sometimes use. I look at them with a steely gaze until they notice, then say something like, "You know that you're not supposed be doing that/acting this way/saying that etc, don't you?" with a firm voice. They almost always look down and stop what they're doing and walk away. This works the first time you say it. However, if you catch them later doing something different, the second time you say it they may decide to challenge you.

While not quite a true silverback, With a 15+ ish age difference to middle/high schoolers it's true simply being muscular and commanding respect instead of asking for it works wonders.

Strong body language, eye contact and musculature are usually sufficient. Use a more purposeful gait as well when walking through an area.

They're especially sensitive to being embarrassed in front of their peers also if you happen to be in a confrontation. Depending on the scenario, this may escalate or de escalate the situation which is something to bear in mind.
