Great cocktail bars, restaurants, etc that Fisto has mentioned in his previous thread, but also still just 10 min from the strip.

I love downtown. Everything you need or want is walking distance away. The bars are cool and everyone loves hanging out here also.

Last night I met some good friends in container park, 12 minute walk away. We went over to Commonwealth, free entry and free drinks (I'm not drinking). I ran into this hot Asian chick that I met once at crossfit and she was looking great. With some guy that had on a stenciled shirt (that was cool in maybe 2007). I had the feeling she was on an online date. She was clearly happy to see me. Then over to the Griffin where some girl opened our group (she was not attractive) and my friend said "is that what I should do when I see a group of girls I want to fuck? Barge into the middle of their conversation and ask dumb questions"? Clearly a tourist used to having guys give her attention.

They went on to another club and I ended up walking back home. Stayed up watching madmen and bullshitting with girls in various other timezones.

Veloce is coming over tonight!

What's the best way to get from the strip to downtown? I'd imagine Taxis are at least $25 each way. The bus there took forever. Until they can fix this, don't see much potential in downtown for most Tourists.

Well there's an express bus that isn't that doesn't take long in my opinion. I ride it from downtown to the airport. It's very convenient. I just walk there and don't have to bother with anyone picking me up.

I don't know about the monorail, I've never ridden it. I actually feel guilty about that.

The Monorail is nice, but I believe it only goes up to the Property Formerly known as the Las Vegas Hilton (no idea what it is now).

I think I took the Deuce Bus there when I wanted to check out the Mob Museum, took like 30 minutes during the day and it got a bit sketch.

RE: The Truth About Clubs in Vegas
I believe the monorail stops at SLS, from there it's another 5-10 min to downtown.

I'm not a huge drinker, so I'd actually recommend renting a car in Vegas.

I can think about every 2 and 3 day trips I took her prior to living here and how I couldn't wait to leave Vegas. Well no shit, if you spend all your time on the strip it's understandable. Vegas is a cool ass city though, I went up to Red Rock the other day when there was still snow up there and it was insanely beautiful. Instead of doing the typical 3-day bender that most people do, I'd suggest making it 5-6 days and take a couple days to explore Red Rock, Lake Mead, Downtown, eat in Chinatown...all the stuff that would be a pain in the ass if you didn't have a car.

Yeah I'm going dtown tonight. I haven't had any strange in a couple months and I'm fiending. My logistics suck so the goal is to fuck a hipster in the bathroom.

I love downtown. Everything you need or want is walking distance away. The bars are cool and everyone loves hanging out here also.

I stayed at the Golden Nugget downtown a few years ago because I was meeting an Asian ex-girlfriend and some of her young relatives and I didn't see any reason to stay on the strip for that. It was relatively inexpensive. She and I went to a strip club near the hotel and one of the white strippers was hitting on her, probably just trying to get me to buy her a lap dance, but it was still a good time and didn't cost hardly anything.

Her relatives and their friends loved the pool and the shark tank. I thought the steak restaurant in the hotel was excellent and some of the Filipino blackjack dealers were hot. The casino bar was uncrowded but decent and close to the elevators so logistically sound for a date. When I spoke to some of the service staff in Spanish they were extremely friendly and tried to hook me up with extra amenities. When I go back I may stay there again unless you have a better suggestion for a hotel downtown.

One nice thing about downtown is that it appears that the hotels and bars are very close to each other, much closer than the sprawling resorts on the strip. It also has a more relaxed vibe, which I think is especially conducive if you're meeting friends or pipelining.

What is a cab ride from the Airport to the Strip about $27.00-$34.00 after tips? Same thing taking a taxi on the Strip back to the Airport.

Even for a 2-3 day stay, I would still recommend renting a car for $20.00-$25.00 per day. You can even stock up on liquor outside the strip and get a big pack of mixers/bottled waters at Target or Wal-Mart. Cheaper to buy that crap outside & tipping a bellboy opposed to overpaying for essentials at the casinos.

Just cab it up after the clubs instead of driving though.

I'd like to do those things as well. Only problem is I've gone to Vegas a few times for work only so never got to try the outdoorsy stuff.

With a car though, I got to eat at China Town, find good restaurants off the strip, try a good Korean taco stand, drink at random local bars, and accomplish meaningful shit work-related.

In Vegas, you don't even gotta go in the clubs to sarge.

You can easily open up sets in the casinos or just walking down the strip. Lots of HB8's and up.

RE: The Truth About Clubs in Vegas
Went out w Fisto to Life last night. Industry hip hop night, crowd was kind of wack. Some hot asian girls but all hanging out at tables, dancing on couches and being attention whores. We approached a couple girls next to us and things were going well but they were 6s at best. Always good practice though.

Overall it was a good night, I want to take a moment to talk about my buddy, we'll call him Kevin, that got us hooked up with drink tickets and whatnot.

He's a pretty legit Vegas hustler. I'd love for him to one day write up a datasheet for the Lifestyle thread. He knows about the forum and thinks it's hilarious that a bunch of guys are on here talking about collecting flags. We've only hung out twice, but I met him through some close industry friends in L.A., one of whom used to live with this guy. He's lived here 8 years and from what I can tell he's done everything related to nightlife, strip clubs, casinos, restaurants, you name it. Those guys you see handing out cards for strip clubs in Vegas? He's done that. Last night he says, "Tonight they're paying $65 per head. You get 10 guys to go to a strip club, you just made $650". So most guys would think, "Oh, I would never be one of THOSE guys, handing out flyers and passes to stripclubs in Vegas." But here's the thing, not only are you making $500+ per night doing it, now you've got connections at the strip club. Now, when it's your night off and time to cut loose, you have VIP treatment. Now, you know the manager of the strip club and he connects you to HIS friends that get you hooked up where they work.

Last night at Life we met the manager of nightlife operations for SLS. Nice guy, totally down to earth. No bullshit, no fake schmoozing, no posturing. While at Life, I met a private host over at XS who's friends with Kevin, he met me and said, "You're the guy! You're the guy with the term 'collecting flags'!" I guess that's a pretty big deal in their circle, he says, "We've been doing that for years, lots of girls come from all over the world to Vegas, we just didn't know what to call that." He gives me his card and says, "Hit me up anytime, you know Kevin, you'll get hooked up."

These days, Kevin makes his money by posting shit online, posing as a stripper on craigslist or other websites and getting guys to buy webcam shows or go to stripclubs. Sound shady? He made $150k last year, and he works from his phone, completely location-independent. He told me, "It could dry up any minute though, could dry up tonight. It's a total racket". He told me he had another job standing in front of nightclubs and rating girls, and making sure the club keeps a high average, basically face control. Not checking IDs, not doing security. Just rating girls and telling the doorman what their average is. He got paid to do this.

As he said last night, "Vegas is a place that's incredibly easy to make money." Are you willing to hustle? It reminded me of a tweet on Wall Street Playboys once, I don't remember exactly but it was something like, "Successful people don't put themselves above their customer." Those words ring with a lot of truth, everywhere I look.

Anyway, an eye opening night for sure. It made me love this place. People bring so much money to Vegas, and there's this industry in place that welcomes them in with open arms, and meeting the people in that industry is a great learning experience.

RE: The Truth About Clubs in Vegas
I went to Vegas once for my buddies fight. Ended up sharing a hotel room with 3 other people, one was pregnant. Buddy got knocked out, and when we show up to the after party an ex UFC champion and his crew had already rolled through and drank and broken all of the bottles of comped booze. Ended up making out with a 35 year old Japanese chick at the slot machines in Planet Hollywood.

Next time I'm going with Veloce and Fisto.

Well the girl is texting me non stop. It was funny because she was clearly qualifying herself all night.

A word about the SLS guy, as Veloce said I will also repeat. No bullshit, looks you in the eye, doesn't talk about how cool he his etc.

If you started doing that he'd likely stop speaking to you.

Veloce's friend Kevin was also cool. Definitely has the hustler vibe but is open and not pretentious. We spoke for a bit after he loosened up with some weed vapor and some drinks. He's had some great jobs here in town and has some great contacts.

Once again, we walked right past the line, ropes opened up, and the manager handed us a ton of drink tickets that lasted us all night (I drank perrier).

It's far from the best club, and I doubt it will last long, but it was good catching up.

Stories like this make we want to blow out of DC where the cost of living is absurd and the people are boring and live in Vegas for a little while.

Veloce,

How does the "I just moved here from LA" thing do when you meet the local girls? I'd imagine a lot of them would like that.

I haven't gamed enough to tell yet. I'll post results as they come in.

The girl I met that night out at Life was Korean/Thai, so I was open about the fact that I'm a chef and right on cue she got all doe-eyed (this doesn't happen with white girls). She told me she makes a lot of traditional Thai dishes so I rattled off a few that I know and she melted.

Completely off topic, but something I meant to include in my previous post:

I was talking to "Kevin" about where to meet all the hot cocktail servers, hostesses, etc. He had some good tips but gave me a look like, "Enjoy the headache". Told me that any reasonably attractive cocktail waitress or hostess has definitely accepted money for sex at some point, he's seen completely goody-two shoes Christian girls from the midwest get completely turned out by Vegas once the high rollers start offering them $10k for sex. I said that's fine I'm not looking for another gf, just some side action, but it was interesting to hear his take, he doesn't bother with them.

Best bet is still tourist girls looking to fuck apparently. Gonna hit up XS this week or next, weather is starting to warm up and XS just did a big renovation (nothing like pouring money into a place to draw bitches out in the open), so it should be good.

RE: The Truth About Clubs in Vegas
Just wanted to post some news about the club scene, it seems like many of the clubs are also sick of the EDM craze and how clubs in Vegas are becoming more Concerts, something I agree. Its gotten old and stale but people will still spend the money to go, but honestly, its not as fun.

Looking forward to Intrigue and the Alon hotel nightlife. I'm pretty over the big superstar DJs, such scrappy crowds.

http://pagesix.com/2016/03/22/vegas-turn...rstar-djs/

Quote:In 2018, when the hotly anticipated Alon Las Vegas casino and hotel opens across the street from Wynn, six-figure DJs will not be in the mix. Jesse Waits, who had been the force behind Wynn’s EDM mecca XS and now oversees clubs, lounges and restaurants for Alon, says, “We created a monster.”

He’s referring to clubs that got loaded with EDM fanatics and eschewed a picky door. “People who just want to see DJs don’t dress up, they don’t have style, they don’t even want to be in a nightclub — they want to see a concert,” he says. “They’re not cool. Nightclubs are cool-people clubs.”

At Alon, he adds, “I’ll be creating a club for the cool people.”

If they make it cooler and more exclusive, hotter model quality chicks will be more in the mix rather than some EDM freak from the 909.

It's amazing how many of the people you run into in Las Vegas are either from the 909 or from (far) inland areas of Orange County. Any thoughts on cinco de mayo weekend this year? I will be there, but I know that they are having serious trouble selling tickets to the Alvarez/Khan fight. If I wanted to, I could go online right now and buy a ringside seat directly from the box office.

RE: The Truth About Clubs in Vegas
I've been laying low on Vegas the past two years, compared to the past. Clubs are way to formulaic. I remember a few years ago on Cinco, went to the old Prive club at the Planet Hollywood, Floyd Mayweather was there with his stack of hundreds at the table next to us, Too short performed live and they had a bunch of midgets in sombreros going around and partying it up. Now what, you'll have a DJ with a marshmellow on his head pressing play and dancing around while people cheer him on.

Cinco will be the same as any other weekend of years past, a lot of Mexicans from SoCal will invade the city for the weekend. The pool parties during the day (shouldn't be TOO crowded yet) and a good dinner and nightclub at night (XS is the only one I currently like). If the fight is at the MGM, I'd post up there about 6:00, grab some sushi and drinks and make some connections for later that night. go to the fight, then hit up the Cosmopolitan or Hakkasan afterwards, maybe Marquee (XS is too far from MGM).

The fight is at the new T-Mobile Arena, which is close to MGM and Monte Carlo. If I go to the actual fight, there will be way too much foot traffic after the fight for me to go cash in, get to a bank, deposit my money, then go to a club. I went through that before after the Mayweather/Alvarez fight. I would prefer to watch it as far north on the strip as possible, Hyde Bellagio or even the Mirage. The problem is that they are having so much trouble selling tickets that I really doubt it will sell out, in which case there will be no viewing parties and T-Mobile will be the only place on the strip to watch it. Have you heard anything about Sapphire Pool/Dayclub? I just mentioned it on another thread. I'm thinking it's either great or horrible.

We got a free cabana and a 500 food/drink credit (which doesn't get you far) from the Delano host guy I've known for years. The food was really good, but that was about it. We bought some strippersxsome salads.

There really were not that many people at the whole place, and it was a Friday. The only civilian girls were nothing to get excited over.x

I know that some of the strippers that came through our tent tops us that they got a majorly reduced house fee for that specific night. There for, you aren't going to leave with one, because she is obligated to work inside later on.x

Its kind of just a way for them to get some free lunch, of of people like me.

Aloha!

I don't remember any SwoopTheWorld posting about Las Vegas. For the price of a night out in Las Vegas, you could fly overseas. I'd think that would provide you a hell of lot more bang for your buck!

No I don't think it's worth it. But I have to admit, I've had some amazing times under those circumstances.

I or a friend is usually comped.

If I had to pay I wouldn't do it. It just doesn't make sense to me. As you point out you can fly overseas and spend a month for what a 3000 dollar single night costs.

I'm a mid 30s Aussie who went to LV at the ages of 27 and 31.

I started roiding at around 25, so I went in looking good.

I found LV particularly easy to pick up in. Travelled with three others. We all gamed hard, especially at night in the general admin sections of the clubs. The opportunities are endless.

The thought of flying in to LV, especially from overseas, and spending $3000 on a night out over and above flight and accommodation costs sounds entirely ridiculous. And I couldn't think of anything worse than having a table and hostess or employee of the club bring girls to it only to see them drink your piss (alcohol). At $3000 I'd need to make out with at least ten 9s, finger two of them in the dunnies and take the best looking one home. In the absence of that, I aint paying it. The only exception to this - yes, there are always exceptions because thats the world we live in - are mega celebs who choose a VIP section of the club because they wanna be left alone (for some unknown reason). Otherwise, those in the bottle service section throwing money around in the hope some pretty chick will see them are completely beta.

Everyone in this forum knows that it's the confident guys with game who approach, irrespective of where they happen to be partying, who get the girls.

For any Aussie reading this, I strongly urge you to visit the USA. For some reason which continues to baffle me, American chicks love our accent and it acts as significant ice breaker. If youre tall, in shape and not remotely shy you should be able to score something decent every night in that city.

RE: The Truth About Clubs in Vegas
Besides EBC, what is the best pool party on a Sunday? Is Marquee Dayclub better than Wet Republic? I'm going to be stuck sitting nosebleed and dealing with horrible crowds Saturday night for Alvarez. It's either than or miss the fight completely.
