Woman complains about older men seeking younger women
http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/...-their-age

Quote:I spoke to my friend Jack about this.

“Men online are the same,” I told him. “They say they’re after true love but really what they’re after is the 25-year-olds.”

“Maybe they think they can have both,” Jack said.

“You’re not like that, though, are you? Given a choice, you’d pick the older, more interesting woman, the passionate, well-read, intrepid, low-maintenance woman.”

“Nice of you to think so,” Jack said. “But I’d go for the firm arse and tits, always, without question.”

I expressed mild disgust.

The fact that men prefer young attractive women is apparently a new discovery for some people. And it's apparently "disgusting".

RE: Woman complains about older men seeking younger women
Because when women are after true love at 19, they give any level of attention to men that are really going to love them forever?

"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.

Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector.

A slight aside: "intrepid" and "low-maintenance" are mutually exclusive terms.

Just like I'm sure she used to go for guys who are 'more interesting and well read'. Or even now she'd go for a 'more interesting, well read' guy her age who lives in a run down part of town over a dumb guy who lives in a four bedroom house.

Bottom line is yet again we have another bitter feminist who demands men like her on her terms. This isn't a wake up call as the author intends for men to change their ways, because men get to decide what they find attractive. It's a wake up call to women that you have a certain amount of time to attract a certain type of mate. Everyone doesn't have to adapt to your timetable.

EDIT: The comment that she needs longer hair and to lose weight was telling. Who doesn't want a fat, short haired, fifty year old woman? After all, she's 'well read'. That sure gives me a boner.

Quote:There seems to be a gender imbalance, vis-a-vis the packaging thing. All the women I know are tolerant of middle age showing itself in a chap. We quite like a late flowering, in fact: the silvering, the smile lines, the coming of bodily sturdiness

If she likes older men so much, why didn't she get one when she was younger? Also notice how she implies that women should get what they want - but men should have to settle.

Quote:I’ve been thinking a lot about this. What does it mean to us, as women, to be told that we’re worth less than we used to be? No man I know has ever been told that his powers, his allure, his charm have faded, and that he has to face up to that redundancy. Many women I know in their 50s talk about their invisibility in public places. I’m sure a case could be made for invisibility as a liberating force in a woman’s life, but I am not the woman to make it, not this week at least, when I’ve been dissed or else flatly ignored by all the men I’ve said hello to.

Also funny how you will hear complaints about "street harassment" from women in their 20's, but never in their 50's - they almost seem to miss it.

EDIT: Crap, couldn't get photos to work.

Anyway, hopefully Steve McMahon will show up, he's the master at it.

So what we have is another fat, short haired, unattractive woman bitter that attractive/desirable men don't want her and she is given a platform and taken seriously instead of being put in a mental institution. Diagnosis:

Blame their mothers. Too often daughters get fed the new age career bullshit from mothers who felt they 'missed out' by getting married at 20.

Mothers should simply give the 'be hard to get, stay out of the clubs, stay out of baskin robins, aim for marriage at 20 to a 30yo winner who wants kids, don't get left on the shelf' speech.

God has such a delicious sense of humor. Men's value increase as we get older whereas a woman's decreases. I found the local Ontarian harpies here are far and away worse than New Orleans in the demands department.

I remember reading Steinbeck's "King Arthur" as a kid and one chapter was my favorite. A young squire asked what all women want more than anything. The reply (I think it was Merlin) said "Power over a man. At any cost."

Also she obviously asked a wealthy, successful, tall, good-looking guy in his 50s - seems like he is inherently Red Pill or reads our stuff:

Quote:“You just have to face facts,” he said. “Men are extremely visual creatures; we respond visually and we can’t help it. Well, we could probably help it, but we don’t want to. Online dating is giving these idiots the impression that they can snag a honey. Most of them have no chance, of course.

Quote:“These are just facts. Men like youth. They like long hair. They like colour. They like slender, as well. Sorry. You’re going to have to lose weight and grow your hair and wear red if you want the silver foxes to see you.

The question is, should I be prepared to change?

That hamster wants that guy to desire her while he can have 2 of those girls spending time with him:

Why should men with options do that with a new lover unless she is the loving mother of your children and a grandmother? He may be by your side if you have given him your best years, but why should he do so with your worst years as a payback?

If he is with Game and money he might attract girls still sexually. If he has to add some sugar to have his cone licked, then it's probably still preferable to fucking a deluded, bitter, overweight, short-haired 50 year old.

Older women are low maintenance? Go to your local supermarket, mall and shopping centres every weekend and holiday. What do you see?

Women of all ages buying shit and men trailing or hiding. Older women have a more refined desire to hunt for random shit and buy it. This is not low maintenance as far as I am concerned.

The most telling aspect of all. Her column doesn't have a picture of her, instead a little cartoon doodle of how she likely imagines herself to be. Searched two or three combinations on Google out of curiosity to see what kind of a catch she was supposed to be and didn't come up with a definitive pic.

RE: Woman complains about older men seeking younger women
I even questioned myself whether it is another Matt Forney alias, since the answers were so Red Pill. (It still possibly is, but a rather elaborate one.)

But she sounds legit in their hamster-way with twitter and all:

Quote:Happy Valentine's Day. Buy yourself roses, if nobody else has.

Sex and the City does not sound so good as a fat 50 year old with "experience".

https://twitter.com/greystellagrey

Her other stories are in equal Hamsterese:

Quote:Finally, we were on our blind date, neither of us what the other expected (He expected someone slimmer, younger and more beautiful. While you expected what? He is a well-off man in his 50s and by the looks of the date you were somewhat interested in him at the end, but he obviously was not.)

So, there I was, standing next to a man who wasn’t what I was expecting, a man who was standing next to a woman he hadn’t expected, on a blind date with an itinerary fixed for the next nine hours or so.

There wasn’t any easy ducking out: the detail of the day had been gone over and over, and I had theatre tickets in my wallet. We began with lunch, where, once we had ordered the food, conversation immediately flagged. Peter, staring off towards the windows, looked like a boy who had been kicked hard in the shin. I began to play the straight man, feeding him lines from emails that I knew would prompt long anecdotes. He had worked for a time in the US, and I asked eager questions about places he had been, places where he had felt at home and not felt at home. I was smiling so much that my cheek muscles hurt. Once he felt that I admired him and that he could make me laugh, he began to like me better.
....

I went home feeling like a dam that would burst its banks and had a good cry because, mysteriously, the wonderful thing had been all wrong. I told myself there had been too much for the day to live up to. I’d already had a text from him that said “Well THAT was fun” with a smiley attached. The useful thing about emoticons is that they preclude the need for kisses.

Since then I’ve had one email from him. It said that he had been thinking a lot about how difficult it would be to sustain a distance relationship and how booked up most of his weekends were for the next two months, what with one thing and another.

She continues on that note as she is obviously hurt that the guy was very much into her in terms of personality, but seeing her for one second was enough to invalidate the entire thing.

http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/...fe-ex-wife

Quote:My guess is that Peter saw immediately we met that the whole thing had been illusory, and if he decided that unfairly early, there isn’t any arguing with it. Intuition and chemistry – they all count for much more than internet dating would have you believe. Setting out to find a compatible person who thinks, talks and lives like you do is all very well, but box-ticking counts for little in the end.

Quote:An ex-policeman, Henry was tall and upright, broad-shouldered, and had a knowing look around the eyes, as if he’d been bashed by life and survived, and wasn’t going to be a pushover. He was also near bald, but a woman of 50 who has issues with hair-loss had better go and buy a stack of jigsaws in readiness for the long nights alone.

No shit sweetheart - the only thing forcing you to accept reality is the brutal end of your sexual market value. Otherwise you would still be in delusion-land.

Quote:While I was pondering, I received a surprise invitation to dinner. I emailed Henry and said that I thought it best to tell him that on Saturday I was going out to dinner with a man I vaguely knew. He didn’t reply, and when I went back on the site I discovered that he’d blocked me, so that I couldn’t send him another message. The man who was going to take me out to dinner realised on Thursday afternoon that he was still in love with his ex-wife, and cancelled.

The brutal hand of karma - in her 20s she had all the suitors she could care for. Now at 50 it's Game over.
