Zan Perrion is the mythical "natural" that Neil Strauss wrote about in his book The Game.

Zan isn't a PUA weirdo. He's just an old school, rapscallion, casanova type. Think Al Pacino's character in "Scent of a Woman".

Zan's influence on me has been significant both in my dealings with women and in my general philosophy of life.

He has a lot of cool things to say like for instance:

- "show up. You're scared/nervous/don't know what to say? Show up anyway."
- "a man who loves women is loved by women"
- "stop hiding your love of women and your sexuality; embrace both and let this energy be the first thing that enters a room when you walk in."
- "do what you want and live your truth no matter the cost"

...etc.

I don't agree with everything Zan says but that's to be expected.

Anyway, this book The Alabaster girl is a blowzy, floral and somewhat meandering explanation of the way he interacts with women, his take on manhood, and his take on life in general.

Oh, and he writes a lot about beauty. And what that means.

The style of writing is deliberately ornate, which might annoy the pragmatic reader who just wants formulaic, how-to info.

But I found a lot of great messages in the book that have stuck in my mind because they were delivered with a certain pizzazz.

In fact, something compelled me to re-read it so I guess you could say it struck a chord.

Anything Zan puts out is legit. Went through a lot of his material in 2008 and it put a lot of perspective on actual philosophies to have, appreciating beauty and a romanticization of what a man experiences with women.

Thanks for dropping this Vincent, solid as always.

Really enjoy Zan`s way and thoughts of being a man.
Totally enjoyed the book. I also rate it at 4/5.

I pre-ordered it when he was first releasing it. I only got about half way through though and got distracted. It came off as too romanticised an approach to me, but it was pretty much what I was expecting from Zan.

I downloaded the sample by recommendation of someone else though never bought the book. The sample read like it was written by a women, with poems etc, and I lost interest.

Does it get better? I might give it another shot as I'm just about to finish another piece.

Well, no.

It doesn't get better in terms of the style of writing.

I had to put it down in frustration a few times and then pick it back up.

But what kept me reading through to the end was the knowledge that Zan is truly a master seducer.

And if he chose to package his words in this way, he must have known what he was doing.

He must have chosen this particular vehicle to impart his teachings because we all know that dry, technical information is soon forgotten but stories, poems and metaphors endure.

And I think in retrospect the flowery language does stick in your mind long after you've read it, even if you feel a bit annoyed during the read.

I'm somewhat familiar with his work, but I think David Daeda has a similar approach, but his delivery is deeper and more comprehensive. Highly recommend Way Of The Superior Man.

I'm 1/4 of the way through. I've had to dictionary a few words which is rare for me.

His writing seems very arcane, like he reads ALL the classic poets, philosophers etc.

I find it interesting, here is this guy who proclaims to be the hero, the promised one on the cover of romance novels.

Something about that, unnerves me, it is this element of fantasy I suppose.

So this book is about how he delivers. It is interesting to read and he has a unique take on everything. Worth reading for sure and I'm getting something out of it.

Finally finished reading it. Recommend! I think it gets better toward the last 1/3 of the book.

Give me Zan over Deida any day!

My favorite book of all time for meeting and having success with women. I was turned off by a lot of the flowery narration, but the actual content/golden nuggets are all in this book. Fairly lengthy though so might take some time.

Just finished, the writing level and narrative layering was refreshing. His way describing what a man should know and want, and to be able to ask for left me with a glimmer of hope in my soul; This is mostly because I'm coming off of years of the Roissy cudgel though.
Checked out his youtube vids too and they're basically all little synopses of his book. He does have an optimism and a way about him that works as a motivation boost though.
I have the knowledge, but now I need to nut the fuck up and be a man.
